So, as some of you may know, I've been using all my spare time(and some of my sleeping schedule) to go for OA.
My question is, why do old fishers see the need to destroy new fishers' dreams? Is it fair that someone with simply more time/less responsibilities gets to show up late and just shoulder everyone aside to add to an already large collection of trophies?
I don't mean to be inflammatory, I just want to know what the community feels about this.

Awwww buddy, sorry to hear about that hoarder. All that work and he likes throwing monkey wrenches. I've never competed myself. So, I've no comment really.
Like any game tho, it's up for grabs. Keep at it and you will someday be OA. emotion_awesome
I once thought if ever I got OA, and what do you get with that exactly except bragging rights, I'd quit gaia. 10 years later and I'm still here. xd

I've wondered some times about trophy pursuits, especially Overall. Now I say this with no disrespect to anyone or no ill manner. It's really hard sometimes to place, when personal life or work and such are to be juggled. I could understand the motivation when we had the Tournament going, as gold prizes were at stake every month for a YEAR!
Maybe those who go for it alot want to be the best- to have the ability to say they have the biggest collection of trophies. I mean this as - perfection in skill, I guess I am saying? Again, meaning this respectfully.
In my personal opinion, I think it's fair to step back awhile and let others go for it. But I've also watched the boards and said, wow, the scores are low this month. I've wanted to place just to motivate others to reach for higher scores and keep it active.
So there's no telling what will happen friend- continue to work hard. I know it's tough when Overall has only one spot, but if nothing else it is always good practice, good fish to sell, and totals adding up for an AR if you don't already have one. Try to look at the positives that come out of those tons of catches. 3nodding

So, after putting in hundreds of hours this month, I'll be losing OA as well as being forced down to third in all lakes. At least someone with 40+ trophies gets to have more. rolleyes I quit.
