Skywhisker woke up to an empty nest. Jumping to her paws, the she-cat scanned the nursery quickly before dashing out into the camp. She knew that some cats looked down on her kit, but they wouldn't go so far as to take Glimmerkit away from her, would they?
By the time her eyes found the young she-cat talking to Spottedkit, Skywhisker had worked herself into a frenzy. So once she knew her kit was alright, she sat down and began to try to calm down her racing heart. . Glimmerkit let her nose face the ground for a moment in sadness for her friend. "Exactly!" She jumped up, wriggling in excitement for her denmate.
When Stormstar's voice rang through the camp, Glimmerkit squealed. "Spottedkit! Spottedkit! Maybe today is your day!" She meowed happily. Staying where she was, Glimmerkit took note of when Spottedkit's scent started to fade and she wiggled in excitement.
More loyal than his last? Glimmerkit thought a bit, had she heard stories about his last? What had happened? The thoughts didn't stay too long though, as she was soon hearing the clan shout out Spottedpaw's new name. "Spottedpaw! Spottedpaw! I know her!"
After the celebration had died down, Glimmerkit nosed around until she found her old denmate. "See Spottedpaw! I knew it would happen for ya." She meowed, touching her nose to the new apprentice's shoulder. "You get to sleep with all the other apprentices now! When you have time from all your busy apprentice things, you should tell me what it's like." She meowed, her tail swishing back and forth behind her. "I should probably go now. Momma doesn't like when I'm gone too long." She meowed, touching noses with Spottedpaw briefly before making the trek back to the nursery.
"Momma! She's Spottedpaw now! Today was her day!" Glimmerkit meowed happily, snuggling up to her mother. "I heard. Come now, let's go sleep. And tomorrow, please don't just disappear like that.""Yes momma."

Shadowstone woke up in a good mood. He loved ceremonies and the fact that they ended the day before on one was great. Giving his head a shake, he padded over to Wolfspirit, gently poking the tom. "Wolfspirit? Could you lead the dawn patrol? Take Mistfeather and Harespring with you." He meowed, nodding once he was sure the tom heard him. Padding over to Redbriar, he prodded the tom awake. "Redbriar, could you take a hunting patrol? You can choose who to take." Exiting the den, he paws to stretch properly before squeezing into the apprentices den, noticing that Spottedpaw wasn't in the den. Bright and early, eh? He padded over to Scorchpaw's nest, determined to make it up to his apprentice. "Scorchpaw." He nudged the young tom until he woke, padding out of the den to wait for his apprentice. "Okay. I know it's early. But I thought we could do some hunting first, to warm up our muscles." He rose to his paws. "And then we can head over to the Great Maple." Shadowstone paused and looked down at his apprentice. "Sound good?"
Leading his apprentice out of the camp, the two of them hunting in relative silence for a while. "Try to keep your weight balanced between all four paws." He meowed as a prey escaped his apprentice. "Makes it harder for the prey to hear and feel you." Shadowstone flicked his ear and shrugged. "Okay! Great Maple!" He meowed, burying his catch for pickup later before padding to the Great Maple.
Turning around, he tilted his head to one side. "Alright. Attack me. See if you can knock me over like Sparrowpaw did yesterday." He meowed, amused at the memory.

⁙⁙ SPARROWPAW ⁙⁙ DawnClan Apprentice ⁙⁙
Sparrowpaw mrrowed gleefully at the thought of the two of them fighting off a fox. That would be the talk of the clan: Two newly appointed warriors fought bravely to protect their sleeping clan. It would be especially cool if she got a battle scar or two to show off. Though, she had to remind herself that she really hadn't been an apprentice for that long. There was a good chance that it would be a couple more moons before becoming a warrior. Still, it was an exciting thing to think about, the day she would earn her warrior name
Sparrowpaw had to wonder how Scorchpaw had so much patience with Shadowstone. Of course she knew that duties as a deputy were probably overwhelming, especially with the whole FloodClan issue. But she still wondered if he could find even a little time to train his apprentice. Sparrowpaw's whiskers twitched in amusement when her clan mate spoke. "Well, you're the best hunter besides me, of course." Though, truth be told,, Sparrowpaw was much too impatient to be that good of a hunter. Fighting was what she was more interested in. It didn't involve so much waiting and listening and boring stuff like that. Everyone would expect such a small cat to be assigned to be a hunter. But that's what would make her such a deadly opponent. No one would see it coming.
Sparrowpaw gave her denmate a playful cuff over his ears at his teasing. "I'd like to see you try!" She then stood and crouched low, her tail high in the air, eyes glimmering with mischief. "Come on, Scorchkit" she said, her voice mocking. "Let's see whatcha got!" But before the scuffle could start, Shadowstone had approached them, and Sparrowpaw immediately behaved, her mind flashing back to the last time she'd gotten into a tussle near the deputy. She felt a little pang of disappointment when Shadowstone offered to take Scorchpaw out, which meant they would most likely want to be by themselves. But once the deputy had padded away, Sparrowpaw turned to Scorchpaw and tried to make her voice seem excited. "Guess you might actually get to learn how to fight after all!" she meowed. "Probably a good thing Shadowstone came to your rescue."
The young apprentice turned her head at the sound of Stormstar's voice calling the clan for a meeting. From what Sparrowpaw could discern, noticing one of the kits beside the leader, it was an apprentice ceremony. She clearly remembered her own like it was yesterday, and she found herself incredibly excited for this new apprentice to have her own mentor and learn great things. When Stormstar announced that Spottedpaw's mentor would in fact be himself, Sparrowpaw didn't know whether to feel happy or worried for the apprentice. It would be hard to impress him, she thought. And as she padded over to the apprentice den, choosing a spot near Scorchpaw, she couldn't help but wish that she could be Stormstar's apprentice. What better way to one day become leader than to be the leader's very own apprentice?

"Let me know if there's anything else I can do." Forestfern mewed, taking her leave of Stormstar after a moment. She couldn't help but wonder at his tail curling. Did he think this was good news, in some way? She couldn't help but wish he had shared his thoughts, if only to garner her own peace of mind.
Dismissing the concerns for now, she returned to the den, pleased to find that Flarepaw had managed to put everything away correctly. At least that was one less thing to worry about. She shoo'd Iceleap away for the day, surprised when she heard Stormstar calling a meeting. Leading Flarepaw out, they joined the rest of the clan. She was pleased to hear it was a ceremony, and not only that but Stormstar was finally taking a new apprentice. Her chest warmed at hearing her father's name mentioned. With all the bragging her father had done about his apprentice, she hoped he'd be pleased that he wasn't forgotten as he took on another.
With the ceremony over, the excitement for the day dulled down. She took some time checking over the elders, before she could retire for the evening. Her dreams were murky, though she would swear she caught a few StarClan scents, she never saw another cat. She woke feeling like she'd hardly slept. She couldn't help but wish that if her ancestors had something to say they would just spit it out.
Heading out to the clearing alone, she could see that dawn was just beginning to grace the horizon. Flarepaw was still asleep, giving her a moment to just enjoy the morning for a few moments as she watched the clan come to life.

Petalfall woke as she heard a few of her denmates being called for patrols. She huffed out a breath, sitting up herself to stretch the kinks from her spine. Taking the time for a quick groom, she contemplated what to do. Taking Sparrowpaw out was a given. Perhaps some bird hunting, given the unusual challenge they could pose. Satisfied, she rose to her paws, heading out and going to the den to nudge her apprentice awake.
"Hey, Sparrowpaw, come on. We're going hunting." She mewed, waiting to see her apprentice wake before backing out of the den. When Sparrowpaw caught up, Petalfall lead them out in to the thicker parts of the forest. It was a chilly morning. Still, ahead she could hear some soft chirps of a smaller bird looking for its own meal.
"Alright, remember to keep your steps light. Birds have very sensitive feet that can pick up even tiny vibrations as you approach. See if you can catch that bird up ahead." She mewed softly, waiting to see what Sparrowpaw would do.
After a while, Petalfall brought their hunt to an end. It was a little past sunhigh when they made it back to camp, each with prey. "That was a good hunt today, Sparrowpaw. I want you to check on the elders first and see if they need food or any help with ticks and fleas, and then you can eat." She mewed.

Redbriar nodded when Shadowstone woke him and asked him to take a patrol. He stretched lightly, before padding over to Miststreak, nudging her shoulder with his nose.
"Hey Miststreak, mind joining me on a hunting patrol?" He asked. When he got an answer, he padded away, giving the same treatment to Ravenstrike. With both she cats woken, he padded out of the den, stretching leisurely.
Part of him felt a pang at having not even asked Sunwhisper. He knew he was being a little immature, that she probably hadn't meant anything by sitting with Maplefeather. But he also knew that doing so put her loyalty in to question, and he wasn't sure he could trust her anymore. So he ignored the ache, and instead waited for his clan mates before heading out.
Wolfspirit woke to the feeling of being poked, amber eyes blinking open to the sight of their deputy. Lifting his head up almost instantly the tom listened to the dark colored cat before he gave a slight nod. As if anyone in their right mind would say no. A yawn left his jaws as Shadowstone left, rising to his paws and stretching quickly before he made his way over to Mistfeather and Harespring. Prodding Mistfeather in the shoulder first he waited until he got a reaction from the she-cat before he spoke. "Shadowstone assigned us for the dawn patrol." making his way over to the other she-cat of their dawn patrol group he prodded her as well, telling her the same before he slipped out of the warriors den.
Wolfspirit's eyes shifted towards his sister as she all but sprinted out of the warriors den after Redbriar. A small amused purr leaving the tom at his sisters energy this early in the day. Turning his attention away the fluffy brown tom waited for Mistfeather and Harespring to join him.
///
Miststreak let out a grumble as she was woken up, still not used to this sort of treatment after moons of being a warrior. A bad trait really but she'd learn to grow out of it. Hopefully. Opening up her blue pools she stared at Redbrirar, taking in his offer before she gave an eager nod. Jumping to her paws, all tiredness seemingly disappearing before she exited the warriors den with excitement rippling through her pelt. Coming to a halt beside Redbriar her tail flickered with excitement. "Bet I can catch something bigger than you."
Unlike her brother Miststreak liked to have fun with what she did. She took her job as a warrior very seriously, especially with those traitorous fox-hearts of FloodClan around, but why should they focus on all that? She believed that having fun was all part of the job as well. It helped ease cats stress. At least, she believed it did.

Scorchpaw roused from the den as Shadowstone roused him in high spirits. Yesterday, while he hadn't done much, ended on a good note. Spottedpaw became an apprentice and him and Sparrowpaw had fun before night crawl upon the camp. Their talk also gave him the confidence and determination to do his absolute best today. Not that he wasn't trying before. StarClan no, he just wanted to learn something new from Shadowstone so he could boast about it and show off to Sparrowpaw when he got back. "Sounds great." he mewed. Early on in his apprentice hood the tom wanted nothing more than to focus on fighting and ignore hunting completely but the older tom quickly shot that idea down and instead showed him how important hunting was and how hunting skills could even be used in a fight.
Following after his mentor Scorhpaw did as was told as the two hunted, his mind and body focused on keeping his balance between his paws to stalk his prey in silence before Shadowstone praised him after catching a mouse with the new technique he had learned. Pelt growing warm at the compliment he followed his mentors lead by burring his own tree before bounding after his mentor to the Great Maple. Scorchpaw felt rather lucky in getting Shadowstone as a deputy. There were many great warriors in DawnClan, that he knew, but Shadowstone was the most understanding out of all it seemed. Not only that he always made time for Scorchpaw between all his duties and tasks Stormstar gave him. The young tom figured it must be heard to keep up with all and always did his best to stay out of trouble and add more stress to the tom's life. Dustnose also told him early on to be mindful about deputy duties and not throw a fit when he was stuck with apprentice tasks inside the camp.
Stopping in front of Shadowstone Scorchpaw blinked once, eyes growing wide at his words before he focused once more. So Sparrowpad took down his mentor? No way was he going to let the other apprentice show him up! Especially with his own mentor. Crouching down into a fighting stance Scorchpaw's tail flicked once before he shot forward at his mentor, his eyes zeroed in on Shadowstones's front legs as he charrged. As the tom got closer he made it seem as if he was aiming for his forelegs before Scorchpaw leaps to the side and instead aims to barrel into Shadowstones back legs.
///
Dustnose was slowly roused from his sleeps as the camp started to come to life. His old ears still being able to pick up on the sounds of eager apprentices and tired warriors. Yawning the tom slowly pushed himself to his paws and slowly crept out of the elders den to seek out the warmth of the sun. Once settled in a nice patch of sunlight to warm his old bones the tom rest his head on his paws, his one good eye gazing around at his clanmates as his mind went back to a time where he was young and eager. Much like many of these warriors.

This layout is a work in progress. But here is my first official post with Shadowstone's sister. yayy ^^
Mistfeather watched her brother as he padded off to his apprentice. Something was off, she could feel it. Shatterfang always said it was because she cared so much for her brothers, that she could see when something wasn't right. A blessing and a curse, because right now she could feel something was off; but she had not a clue what and that would bother her if she dwelled on it. So she shook her head and resumed grooming her fur until Stormstar called for a ceremony.
-----
Blinking her eyes open, she nodded at Wolfspirit's words. So her brother wanted her awake bright and early eh? Maybe she'd slip some mouse bile onto his fur later. Purring at the image of his reaction, she shook her head and allowed herself to stretch before padding out of the den to join Wolfspirit. "Been a while since I've been called for the dawn patrol." She murmured, fluffing out her fur a little bit in attempts to warm up after leaving the warm confines of the warrior den.
