█ BACKGROUND
He really can't remember much of his history. He does know at some point up until he was five there was a period of sunshines and rainbows...so to speak. He just can't remember it very well. Or remember when that was. His earliest memories were of his mother screaming names like a banshee and his step-father knocking her around. Doing his best to mind his own business was never enough. When his mother was too bloody and unconscious to be worth knocking around his step-father, then known as father, would take to using his step-son as a punching bag.
Instead of breaking him down as it would...it actually began to warp his perceptions. It didn't help that his step-father had a twisted sense of humor and would answer with sarcastic or cruel responses that sounded legit. Needless to say...there was more than a few times that he ended up rushed for emergency care to some healer type of person. Or some alchemist with magic potions came to fix him up. Never once did either 'victim' speak a word against the step-father. Mostly they just wanted to live comfortably as possible and not be sold off.
That didn't help his mother once he hit puberty though...she just wasn't doing it for his step-father. He sold her off to some brothel down in crownless territory and would fly into a rage if Kaos ever asked about her. For years the abuse continued in all sorts of manners...over the years Kaos became addicted to everything. From the torture to the sex...to the times his step-father used him as a party favor for his friends or business associates...the need to be needed and useful along with the addiction to the pain, giving or receving, and the sex was part of his every day life.
That wasn't to say he didn't get sent off to school whether he was sore or not. He did...he became an expert of convient stories even as far as showing it was possible by 'replicating' the scenario. He knows what he knows and does what he does to survive. He prefers freedom and living over upsetting his step-father.
