Two deer, one a doe and the other a fawn, came prancing through the clearing that surrounded Dam Rock just in front of the two adventurers, to scared of what was following them rather then the beings they most likely just startled, and into the forest on the opposite side from where they entered. A couple seconds later a cougar came running behind them, but when it caught the scent of an unknown feline-like creature it ended its chase, and ran into the treeline before preceding to stalk its prey. Once it actually spotted S, the cougar jumped out of the treeline, about three yards further down from where it reentered the brush, and was aiming straight for S. On the opposite side, another cougar was laying in ambush waiting to see the outcome of their sister's attack.

Daeron Lassyaian
|| Elf ||

User Image
For a minute or two their pace continued rather hurriedly as Daeron allowed himself to be led to a degree. However, he found himself on the verge of bumping into the boy as he stopped in his tracks and his ears seemed to move about. He knew the maneuver well having had a cat of his own, quite enjoying playing noise pranks on the animal to watch its ears swivel back and forth searching for the location of whatever annoyance a younger Daeron had brought upon him. Then S said something aloud, however in hushed tones, proceeding to push Daeron back a bit as the tall elf obliged and moved back a few feet.

While he didn't personally know what the boy heard, S had hearing that was beyond his own and decided it best to take a cue from the boy who also stepped back from the treeline in front of them. Then as if on cue, Daeron heard the distinct prancing of deer hooves hitting dead leaves as a pair hopped out of the brush and ran right past them. As he heard the pair hop off in the opposite direction, Daeron knew something was most definitely there, what it was however wasn't apparent until a second later when it darted out in front of him. Immediately he cursed under his breath taking a few more steps back and widening his stance, amber eyes darting from treeline to treeline until it appeared again heading for S.

The cougar was fast, undeniably so as it launched itself. Too fast for Daeron to get a complete word out. However, S seemed faster from what he'd seen earlier and he gathered the boy would either move or handle himself appropriately. S certainly didn't seem as afraid of the situation as most children would be, if at all really. And judging from the fact the last thing he remembers was being in a bout of some sort, Daeron gathered the boy was combat competent. And although his thin frame could not move as fast, Daeron was able to begin an incantation. Cupped hands at his sides he spoke, voice somewhat raised getting out in this amount of time, "Scintilla". The spell began to primed as quickly as the words left his mouth, sparks crackling around Daeron's dominant hand before he raised and faced the palm at the leaping cougar, a ball of electrical energy shooting forth at the animal. His only hope was S maneuvering himself to an advantageous position for the duo.

Moments after the noise, S watched as a pair of deer, mother and child, ran past. But, they weren't what he'd picked up on, not at all, and his eyes and ears remained on the source, as a mere moment later a large cat came through behind them. Grimacing, S nearly gave chase himself, it wasn't right to kill a family, but the cat stopped, apparently noticing it wasn't alone, and ran back into the trees.

Having a fix on it now, S followed the cat with his eyes and ears, moving away from Elron and hunching his back slightly as a snarl built in his throat, warning the aggressive creature away. That was not to be however, as the cat pounced from the treeline, jumping straight for him. The cougar was slow, undeniably so as it launched itself. S could see every movement it made, and knew without a doubt that it couldn't keep up in a match of speed. Loosing his snarl, the boy charged forwards, ducking low and running underneath the airborne cat. Raising his left hand as he passed beneath the attacking feline, he dragged his claws across her belly, gouging the flesh, but frowning as he noticed yet another difference, his claws were shorter than they used to be...

Growling in annoyance, S spun around, hunching further and hissing at the cat, both hands flexing by his sides, claws out and left hand dripping blood. The posturing, to humans, would seem just that, posturing, but S could often be considered more cat than man, and he knew how to communicate through stance and sound, and this was a warning, one any cat would see quite clearly. Submit, or die.

Pain. All she could feel was immense pain. The cougar was laying on the ground in front of the elf, with the cut in her underbelly and the uncontrollable muscle spams she was loosing blood at a rate that she would perish unless she was helped. The other cougar came out of the trees and jumped in between her sister and S, as he was the greater threat. She completely understood the body language he was displaying, but she didn't care. Her fur was raised up, but she wasn't going to attack unless she was attacked.

Daeron Lassyaian
|| Elf ||

User Image
As the ball of electrical energy struck the animal, S had simultaneously set in motion his own attack of sorts, Daeron's watchful eyes seeing the boy move with fluidity and swiftness with ease. The two-pronged attack was an instant deterrent to further attack from the cougar, the animal laying on its side bleeding as a growl escaped the mouth of the new travel companion standing in front of Daeron. In quick succession however, another cougar jumped in front of the first, this one having gone unnoticed in the fray. The animal postured back at S, clearly in a defensive stance against what it apparently assumed was the worst threat.

Keeping his hand raised in anticipation, the elf stole a quick glance at the animal laying on the ground bleeding, his lips pursing slightly. He hadn't anticipated the small boy's attack to be as if not more damaging than his own, and as a result the cougar he recognized as a young female from her now exposed underbelly was potentially fatally wounded. He thought about how he could more than likely stop the bleeding with the repeat casting of a particular spell, however he'd need to get close to do it. From the looks of it, the other cougar had no intention of that happening. But perhaps...

"S, if it's possible can you communicate the notion that I can help the wounded cougar? If I don't do something, she's certain to bleed to death from the looks of it. But I can stop the bleeding if I can get close, however at the mercy of this other one unless I'm allowed to pass by." In his culture it wasn't odd to find that elves did not over-hunt. Most regarded hunting for sport as simply disrespectful, and although a bit of meat would be nice to have as well as the pelt, Daeron knew the majority of the animal would go to waste if she died. To kill and waste more than is needed in his eyes might as well be considered hunting for sport. All he could hope for, was that S took a moment to hear his words and trust his methods.

To S's surprise the big cat fall over immediately when it landed and went from the growling and snarling of combat to a yowl of pain. He hadn't meant to hurt it that much, he shouldn't have hurt it that much with what he did. Just enough to scare it away!

Before he could get too bothered about the problem, a much larger cat jumped into the fray, placing itself between him and Elron. S snarled a warning in response, flexing his claws and muscles and bending over to prepare for a charge, but then the pointy man spoke up, and S's eyes flicked between him and the cat rapidly. They had attacked them, but the man wanted to help them. It was mean to attack people, but they had been trespassing, so really the cats were in the right, but they were also going to kill those deer, which was also mean, because the mom had a baby.

Frowning, S glanced between the man and cat again, before glaring at the cat and leaning forwards further. Rather than charge though, he dropped down onto his hands, body twisting and melding into a new form until, by the time he hit the ground in his place stood a third large feline, smaller than the others, but still much larger than most would consider a house cat.

Snapping his new jaws at the other cat, S snarled another warning, before beginning to stalk sideways, and move a bit closer. "The human wants to help." he hissed out, snout flicking towards Pointy where he stood behind the two cats. "If you hurt him, I will kill you." he growled, moving forward a step and snapping his jaws again, tail thrashing behind him in agitation.

So, I apparently forgot this, but FP is reduced two points per post during combat since losing Endurance also reduces it a point.

The cougar was confused when the creature turns into a cat, and then began speaking to it. She understood what he said, and looked at the elf behind her. She submitted and moved to the side so it could try to help her sister. She was desperate, but heeded the creature's warning and wouldn't attack unless the elf did something to hurt her sister more.

The moment the big cat moved S pounced forward, putting himself between the two cats, and Pointy, and turning to face the bigger cat again, growling lowly as he slowly advanced towards her, warning her to stay away from the two. Stopping about midway between the two cats, S considered a moment, then gave another low growl, holing his fore paw out towards the other cat. "Submit!" he snarled out. He hadn't done this before, but then, he'd never been this big as a cat before. But he'd seen it done, be it by kittens playing or a mother to her kittens. The concept was simple enough even for him to understand. One cat declares dominance, the other concedes by rolling over to expose their throat and belly, a sign of submission. As far as he knew it was how cats usually ended their fights, and if the same cats ran into each other again, it marked who was more important. But then, for being one himself, he'd met surprisingly few cats in his short life.

She had just witness this creature nearly kill her sister, she knew he was stronger then her. The cougar submitted to S, allowing him to do whatever he so wished, she valued her life a little to much to even try to fight back.

Daeron Lassyaian
|| Elf ||

User Image
Although somewhat surprised at the rapid transformation of S into a sizeable cat, Daeron had begun to suspect by this point what S was. It was this action which confirmed it however, as the elf recognized him as a Zoan. In his years he'd run into three on separate occasions, however each time was hardly a friendly encounter. Elves spoke of them with differing opinions. Some revered them as the closest one could get to blurring the lines between humanoid and animal, yet some regarded them as unintelligible abominations. Daeron had no real opinion on them however, only the experiences and encounters with them he had in the past. As far as S was concerned though, Daeron didn't mind him at all.

Looking at the cat who seemed to loosen its once tense muscles and lower its guard, Daeron walked slowly and cautiously with hands up so that they were seen, not wanting to risk any unfortunate events at close range. Kneeling down in front of the wounded animal, his hands hovered over the wound as he breathed in and out as if to prepare himself before he spoke the incantation. "Sarcio Levis Zamia." From his unseen palms a pale blue light could be seen and if one had keen enough ears, the sound of flesh and sinew could be heard cracking and popping.

The first installation of the process took about a minute altogether, and as Daeron lifted his hands he knew the spells effect wouldn't completely heal the wound. However, the blood loss began to slow down from what he could see. It was clear that he'd have to perform the spell again, and more than likely once more to get the bleeding to completely stop as well as seal the wound enough for it to heal naturally. Looking back at S and the other animal Daeron simply stated, "I need more time, but it's starting to work. She should be fine in a bit as long as she keeps breathing."

S would have smiled when the cat rolled over, if he'd had the proper muscles to do so. As it was the attempt pulled back his lips into a silent snarl before he realized the mistake and stopped trying. Immediately closing the distance, S set his front paw on the cat's neck, applying the slightest level of pressure, before turning around to face the others once more. Smoothly transitioning back into his human form, S flopped backwards against the big cat's stomach, using the creature as a giant pillow and draping his arm across her side to scratch under her chin, all hostile intent drained away as he realized he now had a giant living pillow.

Ignoring the cat's obvious shock at the shift in treatment, S listened to Pointy's explanation, before grinning happily. He didn't want the cat to die after all, even if he had cut her, it wasn't supposed to hurt that bad. "She be fine." he hissed quietly to his pillow in the closest approximation the human tongue could achieve to feline "speech", and smiled at the cat's tangible relief as the creature relaxed under him, taut muscles going slack as the stress of the situation began to wane.

"Sarcio Levis Samia." The words came quickly after Daeron had turned back to survey the bleeding. Usually he didn't have time in the heat of any given situation to see the extent to how much the spell could heal given multiple castings, so although this situation wasn't exactly prime it gave him his first opportunity to see it could be applied consistently for smaller wounds to at the very least halt the inevitable from blood loss. This was a good thing too, as he'd used the last of his bandage wrap a day beforehand on his hands to cover them from being exposed to poison ivy in the brush.

As the pale blue light returned, the still somewhat pooling blood slowed to a slow drip, this time more muscle and skin than sinew could be heard coming back together. Calling back to S as he continued to stare, he knew there was more they would have to do in order for the wound to heal on its own after the elf finished his last installation of spellcasting next. Why he was a practicioner of magic in training, even he knew the extents of what this particular healing spell was capable of doing. "S, I'm going to need a leaf long enough to cover the wound, moss from the bottom of the rock where the water has kept it damp, and some vine or thin root if you can find any."

As he asked the boy for assistance, he thought perhaps this would be an opportunity for him to gather some items to use as a salve for the wound, a poor man's potion for covering wounds and keeping them free of bacteria. The issue however, was that Daeron was unsure if this exact area held all the ingredients. Not only this, but it had been years since his teacher at the small academy he'd attended taught him of this survival skill. He regretted taking the lesson in passing as hindsight struck him like a ton of bricks. He'd never assumed if he was good enough something could possibly get close to him or make it necessary to use such a rudimentary solvent. However, at the time he'd neglected to think of the possibility of using it on those around him. A lesson his master taught him without even having to be there.

"Okay!" S chirped, jumping to his feet after Pointy told him what he needed, a quick look to his new cat enough to ensure she stayed put. Taking off at speed, S darted into the forest, zipping from tree to tree, up and down, through branches, across the ground, examining each and every tree with a slowly growing frown as he failed to find what he was after. Pausing in a high branch, S considered for a moment, before beaming as a plan came to mind. Two more minutes of zipping through the branches, scratching around in the dirt, and then darting to the rock and back, and S stood before Pointy holding a bundle of thin roots tightly wrapped around a large pile of leaves, with a mound of damp moss lying on top.

"I couldn't find any big leaves, so I got lots of little ones instead!" the cat child explained, smiling widely and hopefully. A lot of little things were just as good as one big one right? And he found the other things. There were no vines around, at least none without sharp bits on them that cut his hands when he tried to pull them off the trees, so he'd gotten the roots instead, and the moss was right where Pointy said it'd be, so it would do, right? Hoping he'd done good, S held the bundle out for the tall pointy eared human to take.

As S ran off into the woods, Daeron slumped back to sit on the ground, running his right hand through his hair to get it out of his face which by this point had gone beyond hot and was beginning to pool sweat. He needed a moment to compose himself, he'd felt as if he'd done too much in a short period of time. Taking deep breaths he looked down at what was now a minor wound and towards the face of the animal laying on its side before turning his attention to its companion. Holding an open hand, he made a gesture towards the wound as if to offer the animal an opportunity to inspect for herself what he'd done. He wasn't sure if the action came across however, and placed his hand back down as he looked up at the foliage around him catching his breath in the meantime.

Daeron couldn't see him, but rather hear S darting about in the forest looking for what the elf had asked for. From what it sounded like, the boy was definitely quick on his feet, rustling at some points seeming to come from high above then quickly below only moments later. Then, he saw the boy near the rock gathering moss before coming back and explaining the situation. Nodding, Daeron took the items and placed them in front of him before turning his attention to S, then back at the wounded animal as he spoke.

"I don't think between the two of us we can roll this animal over. Place the moss over the wound and pat it down, then follow up with the small leaves. Ask her to roll with your movements as you wrap the roots around the leaves and moss so it surrounds her body and tie it up neatly. If you can do that for me while I take a moment to compose myself, I think she'll be fine as long as she avoids any strenuous movements that could open the wound up any more. Just in case though, in a bit I'll perform the spell one last time to make sure that isn't a possibility at least in the short term."

S' eyes widened as Pointy gave his instructions, and the boy cat moved backwards, waving his hands palm out in front of him. "No no no, I can't do that!" the boy blurted, mere moments from panicking at the idea. He killed things, he didn't know how to fix them, and he'd just make it worse if he tried!
