Kari gripped the spit tightly in her hand as she readied her staff in the other. Her target wasn't the usual fare, but the village needed food and she had decided to take up the challenge. She had successfully found what the villagers called an Evil Hand Turkey on the outskirts of the village, just as the villagers had said. Now she just had to defeat it and cook it. Edging a bit closer, she contemplated how she would initiate the fight. Should she go in for a surprise attack and attempt a one-hit kill? Or should she try to confuse the bird and overwhelm it with a barrage of attacks? A surprise attack seemed safer, but either strategy would probably work considering her target was still mindlessly pecking and scratching away at the ground in complete obliviousness. She would normally feel bad for attacking such a creature, as it looked completely harmless. The villagers had instructed her, however, that it could be quite fierce if provoked and should be approached with caution. Deciding to take the villager's warnings to heart, Kari raised her staff and inched closer to strike. Turkey HP: 10 Kari HP: 30 RP Mechanics The village is running low on food and it is up to you to find some steaks and cook them for the village. You are granted exactly one portable spit though you will have to do the hunting yourself.  Right in the outskirts of the village are EVIL HAND TURKEYS. They have 10 HP each, which your character will have to defeat in normal battle combat style (attack with the dice mechanics of your current character until it hits 0 HP). They do -2 auto damage to you every time you hit it. When you have defeated a turkey, you can carve from it, a turkey steak. Roll 1d10 to cook your steak. If you roll 1-5 your steak is raw, if you roll 6-8 your steak is perfect, if you roll 9-10 you steak is unedible. Only RAW and perfect steaks are allowed. gaia_star If you acquire a perfect steak, it is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list.

A twig snapped under Kari's boot as she swung down, alerting to fowl to danger. The turkey scrambled away as Kari's staff met bare ground and launched its own attack with its clawed feet. Turkey HP: 10 (0) Kari HP: 28 (-2)

As the turkey came in for another attack, Kari swung her staff, nailing the bird on one of its feet. It still seemed to be eager to fight, though. "So, you're still wanting more?," Kari murmured as she pulled her staff around for another attack. If it wanted more, she would readily oblige. Turkey HP: 7 (-3) Kari HP: 26 (-2)

Her attack wasn't as effective as she hoped, just barely catching its wing. It was a bit more successful in its own counter attack. Kari grit her teeth as the claw grazed her arm. Turkey HP: 6 (-1) Kari HP: 24 (-2)

"Stand still!," Kari shouted as she landed a glancing blow, once more taking a slightly more effective counterattack. How could a bird be this difficult? She knew the villagers said it could be fierce once provoked, but they never said anything about it being fast. Turkey HP: 5 (-1) Kari HP: 22 (-2)

Raising her staff, she swung too wide and ended up on the ground. She groaned as the turkey chortled. Turkey HP: 5 (0) Kari HP: 20 (-2)

Before Kari could recover, the turkey was on top of her. She swatted the bird away with her staff, but it wasn't very effective. Turkey HP: 5 (0) Kari HP: 18 (-2)

"Enough!," the ghoul yelled, grabbing onto the spit and stabbing towards the turkey. She and the turkey were both shocked when the spit connected, cleaning piercing the turkey through the chest. Turkey HP: 0 (-5) Kari HP: 16 (-2)

Finding a sharp rock, Kari set to cutting a portion of the turkey up in preparation to cook it. Once the slab was ready, she stepped back to cook it with one of her fire attacks... ... and with a 'fwoosh', the slab was well past cooked. It was downright charred to cinders if Kari was honest. Letting out a sigh, Kari set out to tend to her cuts before finding another turkey. Kari HP: 16
