With another 'flump' Hyde had crashed down into the pillows again. She buried her face to try to bury her shame. She had flown off the handle very easily, but Amarante was her one anchor that kept her from drifting off into the unknown reaches of her mind where centuries were lost and important things forgotten. "I'm sorry, Ama-cha," her strained voice came muffled through the pillows. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you, but things did happen. If you get hurt, or change, then I might... lose my friend. Then I will be lost and alone, and that frightens me more than anything."
It was at about that time that the cupcake artillery bounced off Amarante's forehead. Good! Someone else here that might be able to help! Hyde wanted the party to get Amarante to feel better, but alone she was doing a horrible job. "Ara~ Ausi-ki! heart You made it! Please, sit, loaf, have some drink and stay a while." The elf's head had perked up and she smiled brightly while maintaining her cat-like stretched out positioning.

Amarante could only guess that the elf's memory was playing tricks with her. "But, I'm always like this..." Sigh. In her building irritation she stood up for a moment to point and proclaim and otherwise make her statement more effective. "Nothing is going to change! Believe it! And out of everyone, you should know that I hate... I hate being alone, as much as you do." She returned to her seat with a sour expression.
...Only to be hit in the face by a cupcake. "Ah!" It was more surprise than anything else. "Ausicchi!" She was delighted to see her friend, but there was a lingering thought there. "I am beginning to have a burning curiosity about all the food that is being thrown my way." She, of course, assumed the wrong thing entirely. "Feeding me will not make me grow! It does not work that way! Hmph." Someone was sensitive about her size, around her much taller friends.
