If stuff is at a standstill, then I think it would be for the best to do a little tidying up.
I am sorry I haven't been active at all, but Gaia's recent... practices have left me a bit iffy with coming on here. And uh, running Silent Symphonia, and a couple of other blogs over at tumblr does take a lot of time.

It might be a good idea to tidy some things up, such as threads with discussions that have ended or are irrelevant now (previous years' holidays and events, etc.). Maybe new forum games could be started up and/or the old ones cleaned up. We might be able to keep some threads as-is, such as some of the game-specific discussion threads. I don't know if they really need to be deleted and then reposted. Maybe someone could toss a post in those ones to remind people that they exist.
Anyway, you don't necessarily need to do a totally clean sweep.

I haven't really been around, but it seems a clean up is a good call. Even having some of the slightly more active threads cleaned out could help those that are a bit intimidated by the size start posting. If something that someone really enjoys gets deleted, they'll jump on creating a new one, so we wouldn't have to worry about that.

I am sorry I haven't been active at all, but Gaia's recent... practices have left me a bit iffy with coming on here. And uh, running Silent Symphonia, and a couple of other blogs over at tumblr does take a lot of time. Ah, it's cool. smile And oh lordy do I know that feeling. Almost every day you get at least one announcement pushing a thing that's being sold for GC in your face. If I didn't have people to come back to, Gaia would be entirely off-putting to me by now. You do bring up some good points, and yet, so does Cinkel. I understand a lot how the size of a thread can be intimidating---a person can read back a few pages and think, "oh, this has been said several times already/the topic's been talked to death, no one wants to hear it anymore".
Anyway, I don't really completely delete threads because someone might want to look back to it for reference or something. They just get chucked into the Archive subforum. surprised
So far, I really am leaning more toward clean sweep.

It's cool that you guys have been around for so long! (If I'm reading it right) it looks like you used to be a Tales of Symphonia guild, and have since branched out into other Tales games. As such it probably wouldn't hurt to have a clean sweep and restructure the threads and sub-forums accordingly.
That being said, I know that some people enjoy going back and re-reading old threads. Maybe instead of wholly getting rid of them, you could move them to an archived forum.
