So everyday, multiple times, my laptop crashes in some way.
I guess that's what I get for having the first mac laptop ever put into production.
It's seriously old as s**t.
When I was a little girl, my dad used to play piano for me everyday and I would sit on his lap while he strummed the keys.
He had played all his life and it was his only true hobby.
The music would fill our house on our lopsided, disheveled piano.
It, too, was old.
It was a deep green that I came to love,
looking back it must have been horrific to look at.
But little kids don't care all too much.
My dad used to write his own songs on this old baldwin studio upright.
He was going to record them in a studio one day.
Not a single minute of his free time went by without his fingers strumming those keys...
Then hard times hit on our family.
I wouldn't call our family rich in any form of the word,
even though we sprout from a family (my grandparents) who are wealthy beyond belief.
In fact, the general consensus would call us poor.
We're one of those families that just barely gets by.
Not too long after, my dad had to sell his piano.
In that last 8 years he has fallen into a deep depression.
He is illogical, has gained weight, has a very sporadic temper and our family has to be very delicate with him so as not to set him off even on a good day.
It's been a long time since he sold his piano, and these still aren't actually what I would consider "good times".
But tomorrow is my Dad's 56th birthday.
I've finally saved up enough money to get my Dad a new Baldwin studio upright.
I've been saving all my life.
My family is pitching in, as well, to get it tuned and whatnot.
It's a complete surprise, because quite honestly my family can't really afford a piano. Especially not right now.
He has 0 idea what is coming his way.
Right now I'm making his card.
I just drew a piano, scanned it in and am currently editing it on photoshop.
This is maybe the first time ever my computer has not crashed on me while on photoshop.
Nothing is crashing on my computer, actually.
Music is running fine.
I have 7 different programs up with no RAM space and it's running like it did the first day I got it.
Nothing is over heating in my no AC room.
My tablet is working smoother than ever.
I feel like everything in the universe wants this to happen;
I'm so happy.

I doubt any of you have actually read this far because PFFT who cares about a thread called "my life story"?
But I'll update tomorrow night his reaction to the gift.
Words cannot convey how excited I am right now.

TLDR; Dad loved playing piano, economy got bad so he sold it to support his family, he fell into a depression and got extremely unhealthy and also overweight, I've been saving all my life and finally have enough money to get him a new piano. Tomorrow is his birthday. He is completely unaware I just purchased him a brand new piano.
