Warslik stood there for a moment, listening to Deroy reject him. His eyes widened in realization for a moment, and then he couldn't help it.

"Oh thou art too much," he said, bursting into peal after peal of mirthful laughter, soon doubling over he was laughing so hard. "Methinks... Methinks you misunderstood mine intent."

He took a few minutes to catch his breath, slowly standing up straight again. "I do not seek more than just friendship from thee Deroy. Well that is not entirely correct. I seek a political alliance with thee - as friends it is important that we protect each others and entreat upon each others aid as need be."

"I hope thou doth not take this the wrong way, but I could not seek a romance with thee," Warslik said, nodding sagely. "Thou and I art too different - and alas, mine hand is already spoken for."

"What, what did I do?" Deroy was taken aback. Not only had her attempts of consolation seemingly failed but Warslik was notably laughing too. That was can't be a good way to handle heartbreak. She was starting to consider that she may have really him, but he had gone to say something like her 'art' was 'too much'. Whatever that meant.

"Uh... there there...?" He was hysterically it seemed and she could only watch in confusion. She was beginning to think that he might've misinterpreted the situation and yet he was able to point out that the folly was hers.

She huffed at the realization, holding her breath as if it make her embarrassment go away faster, or to shut it out completely. Blood pacts and vassals weren't exactly an everyday occurrence, at least going by her known standards (not a giant worm girl anything out of the ordinary either). She could've been relenting into some kind of weird traditional marriage ceremony for all she knew. Now he was explaining to her that it wasn't the case.

She was about ready high tail away from the shameful exchange when the boy continued to speak. Oh, so now he was too good for her, eh, was that it? What did he mean by 'too different' anyways?

"Ex-Excuse me?" she was little bit hurt by this, but chose to take it in strides. Obviously he just couldn't handle the girl that she was, the woman (in the making) that she undoubtedly had to have been. Though she couldn't help but to eye him suspiciously up and down. He already had a significant other it apparently which left Deroy to thinking one thing; the boys got game and perhaps she'd do better than to involve herself with that.

"Well, sorry." she admitted, following up the apology with a polite cough to again herself. "I guess I did, maybe, kind of take that the wrong way...but you talk funny." the last part was discreetly muttered out the side of her mouth.

"So, what do you have to do for this blood pact thing?" redirecting them back onto the topic of conversation. If it really was just a formal gesture done between friends, to solidify some kind of agreement, she wouldn't have any reason as to why she'd oppose. He just had strange customs she concluded.

"I hath found that mine way of speaking confuses most and it vexes me greatly," Warslik admitted ruefully, reaching up to scratch the back of his head with a bit of a sigh. "I mean no ill intent to thee Deroy, just friendship. I hath no true friends here and I seek to gather allies where I can."

He bowed his head again, trying to be a apologetic as possible. "The fault is mine own, for I didst not make mine intent clear."

He righted himself, and watched Deroy for a moment, crossing his arms before he continued to speak. "The blood pact is purely ceremonial. If it is a bone of contention for thee we can ignore it. It is simply the swapping of our sanguineous humors to seal our pact to defend the other from harm."

"Tis no more than a form of signature, nothing more."
