These words did not register in Warslik's lexicon, and he stared blankly at Amanda as she used them. Invasion he knew - that he understood. He was not partial to the thought of such a thing occurring with him so close by. But he'd seen no portal - felt no magic save for this girl next to him...
Surely they couldn't be "natural" too?
The more and more he got to know about the world, the more and more it made his head hurt.
Shaking his head.
"Yes, let us move closer," he urged, starting to climb down the other side of the wall. Cauldron strapped to belt and athame tucked into boot for safety.

"No, uh... I don't actually know where movies come from..." Amanda was momentarily distracted, "I think you buy them. At a store." Oh! Right! Yes! Aliens invading!
Ah! and they were climbing down before her! She had to keep up with them! They were her team now, weren't they? She wasn't good at climbing... maybe she could try the broom? If she pretended hard enough that this first attempt at a flight enchantment oil was a wonderful success maybe it would be? She looked down. A long way down. Maybe she should... compromise. She started to climb down, activating the enchantment on the broom and holding it with her other hand... before realizing how frustrating it was to climb down with only one hand on the wall. She didn't want to impose on the worm girl (or squish her), and she didn't think that asking Warslik would do anything, as he was a ways below and needed to keep track of his cauldron and knife (which she didn't want to distract him from because he could get injured if he wasn't careful!) so she gritted her teeth and looked at the broom. okay broom. We'll just have to fly... She grabbed it with both hands and levered herself onto it. She had just gotten into the proper sitting postition and was just thinking that maybe it wouldn't be so bad... when it started moving on it's own. "Whoa, hey..." she just wanted it to slowly lower, not move. She wasn't ready to fly like that yet. Then it went into a steep dive of its own accord. "H-hey! Whaaa!" It leveled off almost smugly, shakily hovering a few feet from the ground. "D-don't do that again" she scolded the broom, her knuckles white from gripping the handle. Yes it had been fun but she didn't like the idea of falling, or worse, crashing. She also didn't want to get off of the broom, now that she was on it.
Warslik was not paying attention to the others as they made their descent down the wall. Well, at least, until Amanda's broom buzzed by in its suicide dive. Hissing under his breath, he clung to his precarious handholds for dear life, before finally allowing his body to relax and finish climbing down to the ground.
His arms only gave way when he was about a foot from touching the ground anyway - so the fall was minor at best, resulting in a grunt and a groan from the young man. Rolling over, he forced himself up after about a minute, dusting himself off as he stood.
"Truthfully, I have never liked climbing," he grumbled aloud to himself. "But then, I have always preferred both of my feet on the ground, or to be seated astride a horse." Rolling his neck, it popped, loudly, and he grimaced.
"Though, Amanda, I do name thee a Witch of the worst kind, I would be careful with that damnable stick of yours, lest it buck you off and break your neck. I would very much dislike to have to leave you behind to be retrieved later." His voice wasn't... cold - but it had a bite to it.
Frankly, Warslik would have been inclined to have taken her to the school if she had become injured normally - but, she was both a stranger and in his opinion drawing more attention to them than need be. She had not proven herself to Warslik yet, at least - not enough to earn his trust or loyalty, and therefor his first priority was to that of the greater good. If she were to become too injured to move - he would stash her (or her corpse should she expire) in a safe place to be picked up upon the completion of their mad quest.
Provided the creatures of the jungle or the Worm Beast they traveled with didn't eat her first.
It wasn't that he was upset with her per-say, but only other magic user at the school he knew of or not - she was not engendering in him solidarity. If anything, she was proving to him why his family kept so separate from the world. Truly, such failure at what he assumed was simple for her ilk made him sick.
He may not be the most powerful Daemonist in the Witherson clan, but at least his daemons didn't try to kill him.

You and your team mates slowly crawled through the jungle, being careful not to make too much noise or leave much of a trail behind you. The lush forest surrounding you seemed totally and completely deserted, which made the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end; you knew the aliens were around here somewhere, you had seen their ships after all! You were starting to give up all hope when you saw a blur of moving colour off in the distance. Tugging your friends down into the shrubbery for cover, you all peer over at an unfamiliar figure creeping equally carefully towards the school some ways from you. They weren't from Sidekick Academy, and they sure as heck didn't look human; target acquired! It seems like they hadn't noticed you, so now what?
1) Attaaaaack! Those jerks are going down! You were confident your team could take on a lone alien. Not that you were planning on really hurting them- ideally, you'd like to get them all nice and tied up for questioning.
2) You suggest trying to approach them in a peaceful manner. Perhaps your arms up in the air- that was universal, right? The only way this was going to end well for everyone involved was if communication between the two Academies was opened as quickly as possible.
3) Continue to hide, and when the alien moved onto the next area, follow them from a safe distance. For one reason or another you're not ready to jump in to action quite yet- you'd rather examine the alien from afar, having no intention of losing your target.
Don't forget to make your decision before the next bit is posted! The next set of options will be posted on the 20th, roughly around 3am. Have your votes in by then~ Remember to make your character's choice clear and in bold, using the number listed above somewhere in your post! If you do not, your vote won't be counted.
Regardless of their little... mishap, Warslik was not one to sit out in the open for long. He motioned for the others to follow, and off into the jungle it was. After some time - he wasn't really keeping track. He spotted one of the aliens. Stopping still, he dropped down and hoped the others did the same. Lowering his voice, he turned toward the other two.
"I think our best course of action is for one of us to approach, and see if we can find out why they are here." Looking between the two of them, he decided very quickly who the best candidate would be.
"I'll go - you two should stay here in the brush until we make sure it is safe." Warslik said, turning his head toward the Alien as it moved by. "That way, if they prove hostile, you can enact a rescue, or - if it is too late for me to be saved, beat a hasty retreat back to the school."

(Option 2!)
Amanda (having dismounted the still hovering and currently behaving broom) gave Warslik a strange look as she hid in a nearby tree (so many plants!!!) an arm over her broom to try and keep it at the level.
She was thinking along those lines, actually. If Warslik went out there and talked to them, and if things went wrong, she could dive in and rescue him. Being on a high vantage point made this worthwhile. If the broom behaved, of course. It probably wouldn't, but hopefully it would behave enough.
"I agree with you there." she whispered, "You're probably the best at talking to people." She squinted down at him, "But don't even think that we'll leave you behind."
Even if he had called her a 'witch of the worst kind'! Jerk! That had struck too close to home. Amanda, however, did not hold grudges. After all, how would he have known just how cruel that statement was? She hadn't told him, and the school hadn't told him.
"Because we won't. For now, though, I'll keep an eye out up here. I'll... uh... make a whistle or something if I see more."
Deroy listened on intently, but her eyes where more interested in the floating stick thing (broom), it was perplexing. Her mouth chewed with a nervous silence on a branch that her arms fed in, only to spit it out voluntarily when she wanted to speak. "Aw, fine. You go then. We'll have your back." She said, whining a bit at first. She liked to the think she was fairly decent with talking to people, she liked to think that. "If anything happens, we'll pull you out, and no lives will be this day!" she spoke at a whispers level, although rather dramatically, wagging a claw and trying to wink at her buddies as she did.
[[Haha, Option 2 it is!!]]

Taking a deep breath, Warslik slowly checked to make sure his cauldron was secure on his hip, that his book was still there, and that his athame was carefully concealed inside his boot and out of sight. Once he was sure of that, he muttered a weak plea. "Aezeleth the Defiler, Lord of the Inner Gates of the Seven Hells, protect your servant..."
Whether or not he would grant his request, Warslik didn't know - he wasn't here to do so, so it was really a crap-shoot.
Slowly he stood up and made his way out of the brush, arms held in front of him, palms open and facing the alien to show he was "unarmed."
"Hail!" He called out the the stranger. "I do not mean to startle you, but you seem lost and in need of assistance. My name is Warslik Witherson, and I come to you in the old way, to parlay in peace. I am alone and unarmed, and bear you no ill-will!"
You barely had the chance to call out to the figure in the distance before it dashed off deeper into the jungle, obviously startled by your group approaching. You managed to catch a glimpse of it's large, yellow, almost mirror-like eyes before it disappeared into the foliage, heading away from the Academy. Now what?
1) Pursue it! You were looking for aliens, right? You weren't too sure what you did see, but if you moved quickly maybe you could catch up with it.
2) Do nothing. It went away from the Academy, after all! Perhaps if you stood around for a bit, it would return? For all you knew, it was watching you right now...
3) You suggest that you and your friends call out for the alien. Hopefully it would recognize that you meant no harm!
4) IF SOMEONE HAS A FLASHLIGHT, you wonder aloud if shining it into the jungle would reflect off the alien's shiny eyes- on the off chance it was watching you from a safe spot, at any rate.

(Amanda isn't sure whether to do option 1 or 3...)

Amanda frowned, crawling along the branch a bit to poke her head out. "Looks like you scared them... Which means they were probably alone and unarmed too..." she looked towards where the alien had run. "I don't want to spook it more than we have, but wouldn't it be neat to talk to an alien?" she whispered. She tried to look serious despite her evident excitement. "You're the spokesman, Warslik, what do you want to do?"
Warslik frowned as well, it was kind of a no brainer as to what the next course of action would be. Moving toward where he'd seen the Alien dive into the undergrowth, he bit back a curse and started to move through the brush.
"I apologize if I startled you!" He called out to the alien as he pursued it through the brush, leaving the other two behind. If they desired to follow he wouldn't stop them - he was sure they were smart enough to understand when plans needed to change.
"We seek only peaceful parlay!"
((Warslik votes Option One!))

(Option 1 then, since she isn't leaving Warslik alone)
Amanda muttered something about newts tails and attempted to glide behind Warslik on her broom, hoping it would at least behave. It seemed to be doing so... for now. She remained quiet, though in case the alien saw her she put a smile on her face. She tried to keep to the trees, though. In case she needed to swoop in and come to Warslik's aid.
A chase! Team Shadowsilk darted off in pursuit of the bug eyed alien, eager to come in contact with one of the strange visitors from another planet. You all remained hot on the trail of the pale, mothlike alien for quite some time- that was, until the trees thinned out as you suddenly hit a steep cliff cut into the side of the island. Before any of you could even blink, let alone shout something out, the alien spread its long limbs to reveal thin wings, dove off the side of the cliff, and took to the skies. You all stood dumbfounded, jaws open as the reality sunk in. The chase was over.
The sun was beginning to set over the waterline in the distance, reflecting a warm bright orange light. It was getting late, and at some point the warning sirens had stopped wailing- although they still rung painfully in your ears. Your bodies ached from the long day of running around, so heading back to home base seemed like the most appealing course of action. Agreeing to return to Sidekick Academy you and your small group of heroes trudge back empty handed, but certainly with exciting stories to tell. Besides, the adventure wasn't over yet... who knew what was in store for them back at the Academy's headquarters?
Once more we'd like to apologize for the delay in wrapping up the CYOA, and thank you for your patience! The long overdue final posts for each of the individual teams are now up- you are free to roleplay in these threads if you would still like. An event conclusion post, along with prizes, should be up within the next week or so. Thank you for participating, despite our hiatus we hope you had fun!
