Well, I am my ideal weight finally, I had been working on putting on pounds because I have a hard time gaining weight, which is frustrating.
My problem is that I need to gain more muscle tone so I do minimal cardio exercise and more weights in order to work on muscle. Although, it's still hard to get motivated to get to working out.
Some days I'll be like, "I'm so tired, I can't work out because then I'll be exhausted before the day is done and there's stuff I need to do still," so I avoid it. Most times, I just don't "feel like it".
To motivate myself, I usually think, "I truly need to workout while I'm young and keep going with it so that I can get in shape and stay in shape." Sometimes it's easiest to motivate myself if I'm actually going to and from a destination. Walking on a treadmill or just being in one spot doing weights doesn't suit me well. I enjoy changes in scenery and if there isn't - I get bored and feel stuck like I'm not gaining any muscle tone or any benefit during my workout.
I prefer to do a fun activity for working out like a sport, doing yard work, walking the neighbors dog, etc. I also find it more fun when I can have somebody join me so I can talk while I am doing something. Sometimes going for a walk in the park with a friend is fun because both, you can talk and get a workout.
For some people, interactive games like DDR have helped people when it comes to staying in shape or losing weight and it's addicting because it's fun. My problem was that I had so much fun with games like that that I pushed myself until I hurt myself so I need to put a time limit for myself or a song limit so that I don't overdo it. It's a fun way to do exercise, though!
Even I need to find a way to eat healthier, too. For anybody, meals that are too high in carbs, salts, or too high in anything else aren't good to eat all the time.
I usually stick with fast food, Ramen, and TV dinners because it's literally all I have time for. By the time I get home - it's time to sleep, and I don't have the time or the energy to make myself a meal.
However, lately I found a wonderful alternative! Recently, some friends have been telling us about the Schwan's man that they order food from. The catalog that I looked through had a lot healthier stuff that was better for you than fast food, Ramen, and TV dinners. I got to try those foods at a friends before considering the idea. I'm highly considering it now because the foods can be frozen and last and they come by like once every two weeks. Their foods come frozen so they can be eaten at a later date and the preparation is easy and simple. They have berries that could be mixed with plain yogurt, made into a smoothie, or a delicious muffin. They have frozen yogurt as well. They have a website that you can browse at, which is www.schwans.com and it has all the nutritional values, too!
I definitely notice that when I eat better - it feels like my work outs mean a lot more because I feel better. When I eat foods with trashy nutritional values, I know that I lack energy, feel gross, and don't have as high of a self-esteem as I could. When I eat better, I feel better about myself because I'm eating what my body needs and not eating excessive amounts of salt, sugar, fats, calories, or carbs during my day.
Also, one other thing that helps me feel great on top of eating good and working out is when I eat my meals. I find that my body feels better if I eat 5 small meals in a day rather than 3 large meals. Basically, I think of it as 3 properly portioned meals with a healthy snack in between each meal. I feel balanced when I eat 5 smaller and portioned meals as opposed to 3 larger meals.
I know you probably weren't asking much about the food thing and more on working out >_< but I thought that I would go ahead and share.

My weight fluctuates -.- so sometimes its hard to tell what I really weigh. But in the end it usually goes back to the "usual" weight. Which right now I want to lose. I know I'm not fat nor am I that skinny. It actually doesn't have much to do with how I look more with how I'm uncomfortable with the weight I am. -.-' its just hard to motivate myself to get up and work out. But recently i have been trying to get myself up and moving. When i wake up I either dance or do a bunch of other things (jumping jacks, stationary running, running/walking, up and down the stairs, squats, lunges, etc). But even motivating myself in the morning is hard -.- Just waking up and already moving not my favorite thing in the world to do. But I'm trying....so far not really getting anywhere though. stare
I'm also tired of being out of shape so this year I enlisted my friends and we go to the gym together. That way no one can back out. c:
If that isn't your cup of tea there is wii fit, or EA active. I did wii fit when I was fat, and it told me I was overweight and made my character chubby. ;___; I lost 10 lbs and got in the normal zone because having a fat avvie was depressing. LOL
Another thing is to get rid of all the unhealthy food in your house and replace it with healthy food you like. The point is to eat about 80-90% healthy about 80-90% of the time. This means that you can still have snacks you love, but in small portions!! smile
And if you say you like mc donalds, why not try a "healthier" option. Example - you can get the chicken ceasar salad and get grilled chicken and no salad dressing or get light salad dressing. This way you are drastically reducing your caloric intake from a burger and fries!

To motivate myself to work out I literally wake up.
Wake up, work out, shower, breakfast.
It jump starts your metabolism AND makes that shower feel so much nicer. Plus I sometimes will have my work out planned the night before. It makes it much easier.
motivation? I don't have one either.. LOL. but i'm taking a dance course at school and it helps when i decide not to eat as much junk food that day. sorry i'm not being that much helpful either.
I do most of the cooking here at home so it's easier for me to eat healthy than it used to be. I also seem to have lost the desire for junk food (except for those blasted bacon cheese fries!) so it's not too difficult to eat more-or-less right, unless Grandpa insists on beef ribs. I usually do a light fast the day after that.
"Exercise" is my nemesis. I do mostly stretching and I walk a lot when I do errands - one perk of living in the City - but actual exercise routines give me bad high school flashbacks.*
I'm thinking of maybe taking up belly/tribal dancing, since it's more fun to dance than to "exercise". Plus I know a certain someone will just love to have me waggle my hips at him 4laugh
*For those who don't know the rhyme:
Those who can, do; those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, teach teachers; those who can't teach teachers, teach gym.

Buying and using a waist training corset! I'd do anything to be able to fit into the custom one I want, and eventually get smaller and smaller because of it. I'd feel feminine and happy with how I look whenever I wear it, and feel good about myself. <33

I'm working on losing weight too and the single best way for me to get motivated to work out is actually to not focus on my looks. It's still a very important factor but I find that if I focus on being healthy/nice skin/living longer then if it's less self-hate. If berating myself worked then I would be so slender haha. Then it's really all a question of doing it. If I don't want to work out and start making excuses I mentally slap myself and quickly get dressed to work out. Once I start, time passes by quickly. I workout at home btw ^^

I started exercising again lately. And I do have to fight with myself, but I always think stuff like: "Hey, it doesn't take THAT long to do those sit ups, and after that u can just go to bed and sleep or listen to the music or whatever u want", or "You want to be cute, you want to sing better, you want to learn to keep with things until you end them. And you can do it just by working out, so get up and be awesome!". As silly as it is, it usually works for me. xD
Music, at home workouts radio blaring. Yep... Especially if your focusing on one specific area (stomach, etc) you don't need to go to the gym. try P90x, or something like that. Or even try looking up core exercises on the internet. You can do those at home
