Buttery Biscuit Face I always buy the house in the waterfront. It's cheap and I've always been terrible at making money in Oblivion crying Pick up anything of value, make several trips in the first few dungeons to sell as much as possible and a great way to help is to pick up any food and ingrediants and make potions, even basic ones. They might do nothing of value in combat but you would be surprised how much money you make at first. Buying the IC house is always a good thing however, because if you have things you want to store (to sell later or display), you store them and sell the rest. Think of it as a storage shed with a bed. rofl

In Oblivion, my favorite and only house was the one in Skingrad. I like the free jewels you get in there, and if you're unfamiliar with the mini-quest inside the Skingrad house, simply go up to your bedroom, and look on top of the platform over the door, you'll find a letter. After you read the letter, go down to the basement and search the wooden support beams for a secret bag of jewels. I liked the free sheperd's pie, and I liked the large layout of the house.
In Morrowind, my favorite home was either Tel Uvirith, i think it was, the Telvanni faction house you inherit, or my favorite was Rethoran Manor, the Hlaalu faction house you inherit. Hard to choose between them. Warrior/assassin builds to Rethoran Manor, Mages to Uvirith, I suppose.
In Skyrim, disregarding the first one I purchased more out of necessity than anything as a place to store my extra items, my favorite home was always the one in Solitude, Proudspire Manor. It's almost the same large epicness that made Skingrad's house so amazing.
