To me the best thing about the Elder Scrolls is buying a house and settling down. Mostly because I'm a hoarder and pick up everything I find and need a place to put it!

In Oblivion my first house was in Leyawiin. I liked the location a lot, even though the house was a bit small. I have a thing for marshy areas so the scenery really suits me. I like that it seems to rain a lot in the area. And it's in a very convenient location for shopping.

My first house was one I got for free near Anvil It was glitched out and didn't respawn items like normal houses in the wilds it was the farm house where you get Rockshatter for the farm woman.

The first house I bought was in the Imperial City. I wanted to try it out, plus I kind of like being on the ocean.

The first house I bought in Oblivion was in the Waterfront District in the Imperial City. Later on I then downloaded a mod so I could have a underwater fortress with disco lights..(; cat_cool cat_cool

I got the Anvil house first, because I like having a quest to spice things up, and it was a high price kind of house for nearly Waterfront pricing. Can't beat that kind of deal.

My first house in Skyrim was in Whiterun! Home of the Dragonborn. XD

First house:

Oblivion, Bruma.
Because I love frozen northern areas and it's like a cozy log home.

Skyrim, Whiterun.
First house I could get my hands on. The one that I actually worked
to get because I wanted it was The one in markarth because I love the
look of old dwarven stuff.

My first house was the little shack in the Imperial City. I don't really like to consider it my first house, since it was basically a hovel I used for storage and sleep.
My first real house was Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad <3 I spent literal hours decorating that house ~ it's so gorgeous. 3 floors, complete with huge bedroom, kitchen/dining room, a library/entertaining room and a maid. Not to mention all the storage and display cases.

Hate the neighbors though.... a house full of zombies across the street, a*****e Toutious Sextius next door, house of death aka Summitmist Manor right next to that and a necrophilia-practicing Dunmer and jerk that basically says "admit that you're a worthless piece of s**t or I'll kill you" just down the street... But still, gorgeous house.

awesome ahiii - rofl I think it looks good when you furnish it though, right?

Imperatrix Anemone - LOL!

You sound like my wife. She's spent an hour decorating a single table. I don't even bother because it's so difficult to pick up and place things. @_@

Which town is it that's full of Nords and is very close to Skyrim? Bruma? That's the first house I bought. It's a pretty nice two-story home.

First house in Skyrim was Whiterun simply because it's the only one I can afford early on in the game and I like to horde weapons, potions, armor, and other random items so I need a place to stuff all my things. By the time I was level 40 on my other account, I had all four houses and all of them were filled with random crap. sweatdrop

First house is always in the IC, as I am a horder and collect just about anything I can pick up... including a couple bricks you can find in the game LOL.

After that, my very first play through resulted with Chorral as my second house although now I have so many modded houses that I tend to wait till I can get Rosethorn Hall as its one of my fav over all.
