when i realsied my fav video game sonic 3 and knuckles is nearly 20 years old
when my body fell apart
when teenage mutant ninja turtles is on tv land
when i remember nickelodeon being awesome and not crappy
when i rememeber every simpsons episode
im 21 btw

I realized I was old when:
-All of my favorite shows are at least 5 years old.
-They made remakes of my favorites games growing up (Pokemon FireRed, SoulSilver, Final Fantasy III) and I still remember what the original was like.
-I just listened to Baha Men and realized they were cool when I was in elementary school (also 21)

... when I was watching a movie with my son and he got confused when they used a rotary dial phone. He wanted to know what they were spinning on the phone. lol  Yes. I'm so old I once used a phone like this. lol

When I quoted excerpts from the legendary "holo-virus" episode of Red Dwarf and only got confused looks. Bonus old-points for getting even more confused looks when I attempted to explain Red Dwarf.
Damn kids...

Officer Hot-Pants When I quoted excerpts from the legendary "holo-virus" episode of Red Dwarf and only got confused looks. Bonus old-points for getting even more confused looks when I attempted to explain Red Dwarf. Damn kids... ... ... ...I think I need to go cry, now... Red Dwarf is awesome! The funny thing is I never watched it until my hubby rented all the episodes from Netflix. I originally turned my nose up at it, but then found myself giggling uncontrollably as I caught certain scenes. Then of course I ended up sitting next to him - watching the whole series. And for a "I realized I was old when...." My younger sisters turned 40!

I'm pretty sure it didn't have any particularly negative consequences- GYOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!! ...when I mention ANY of the computer games I love (all Win95 material). ...when I have to explain what a VHS is (I kid you not (for once) !).

....when I helped clean out my mom's garage. All of my sister's and my Beanie Babies, Furbies, Batman action figures etc were still there!
...When I realize how pissed off I am that "We like to party" by The Vengaboys is mostly concidered "The Six flags song".
...when I realized my cat is about 15 years old.

When casually talking to a co-worker near my age about 8-track tapes and a 20-something co-worker tells me she thinks were making it up, there's no such thing. I brought one in to work to show her and she was astonished. (Yes, I still have 8-tracks and the player to go along with them)
When I remember pay phones used to be prolific, before affordable cellular.
When I see a cell phone I had in the '90s that was considered slim and compact (and required an antenna) and by today's standards it's huge & bulky. And it only made phone calls and had no memory for contacts.
When I remember that I used to carry a pager. Do they even make those anymore?
When I remember .50¢ packs of cigarettes.
When I remember gas station attendants checking my oil, tire pressure and radiator fluid.
When I remember that all cars had the same standard size round headlamps & seatbelts were optional.
