I feel like peanut butter is a really American thing. I've never heard of people eating it with apple...
I used to have peanut butter sandwiches a lot when I was a kid but I think I kind of overdid it so I really hadn't had any peanut butter in about 10 years.
Then they started selling Reese's peanut butter cups in the past year, and I fell in love.
xd That's what I've gathered from Japan as well after reading about it a few times from an American blogger who has been living in Japan for 20 years.

It's actually really good with an apple depending on the variety. A more sour apple with a sweeter tasting peanut butter compliments it well.
I happen to like that as well peanut butter + celery and peanut butter cookies. Not a big fan of peanut butter and jelly though for some reason.
Also, I agree with Lea. Apple butter is amazing. heart
