Stoloth slowed for a moment, stunned by Yvoth's mobility, and surged forward again when he had a lock on her. He didn't like to plummet like this at all!

Yvoth followed the sharp turn with slow curving arch, heading upwards again. If she could just get high enough, she would have the height to swoop and swirl and fatigue the whole lot of them when when her own strength was flagging. It was something the older greens usually learned at some point, though Yvoth had been a bit slower than some to pick up on it.

Up again. His power would overwhelm her agility in the end, he just needed to make sure none of the smaller faster males slipped past and grabbed her before he had his chance!... No. Waiting never won anyone anything. Snarling again at the old brown beside him Acriculeth cut across the competition and reached for the green.

Up, up, up! Yvoth’s eyes were too focused on the sky, and it wasn’t until a snarl – too close for comfort – that she remembered her pursuers and glanced back. The bronze was too close! She roared with indignation and tried to twist away, but her wings fouled in his and the pair became ensnared. Victory had gone to Arciculeth!
Far below, K’la gave a shaky breath and turned to find the welcoming arms of her old friend. She had no thought for the bronze’s rider now, who would have to find someone else to attend to his needs.
