The Shield of Hope Marine Division Head Quarters

User Image

The Shield of Hope Marine Division Headquarters is a grade A classic fortress... One of those ones you hear about only in history... It's defensive capabilities are one of, if not the highest within the entire Navy, tho this is a dispute that had been argued many times... It's seemingly sitting out in the middle of no where right on the water it's self, while in truth this fortress was actually built right on an island... That's right, the fortress is actually an Island... While not that big, it's still big enough for the residents, and the marines to live happily... The fortress walls are lined with cannons, guards, and snipers. As well inside there are guards on constant watch, ready to ring the bell if an emergency should arise...

Deeper into the heart of the Headquarters is the Marine training grounds, this is possibly the second biggest area within the city/headquarters, every day new recruits are joining up in an attempt to fight along side the men and women that protect them... The marines are loved by the people of the tiny city as well as their Commander. The docks them selves are the biggest spectacle of this city, simply because they are massive. They are able to hold the entire Division Fleet without trouble. Life is fairly easy here, and pirates have never been an problem with this fortress, and as said by the Commander of "The Shield of Hope" Division. "They never will be..."

There are a total of two gates for entrance into this fortress, the south and east gates. Both are heavily protected, however the east is primarily used for the Marines, while the south is used for civilians. Because of this the south gate is often more heavily guarded then the east it's self.

It was a beautiful day out when Taela arrived at The Shield of Hope Headquarters. Several feet before she entered the building, she shielded her eyes from the sun, squinting at its unwavering light. Her new Marine cloak billowed around her. She disliked it; she thought it made her look and feel like a man. Maybe I could make my own outfit and embroider it with the crest. Taela thought as she envisioned white shin-length pants and white boots combined with a black short sleeve shirt and a forearm-length white overshirt with the crest meticulously sewn in. In the midst of her fantasy, she almost bumped into several busy Marines buzzing around in the building. She finally woke herself up and concentrated on where she was going. She had wished that her twin, Tweverel had come with her. He had not yet been accepted into the Marines, but she was anxiously awaiting it. He was her leaning post, her best friend. Without him, she wouldn't know what to do.
His absence made her even more nervous. When she approached the desk, she tried desperately to keep her knees from knocking together and to keep her hands separate, else they fidget.
"H-Hi... I'm Taela.... Taela Atlas. I was told to report here." The secretary eyed her up and down a couple times. Oh, no! Is she judging me? Maybe I'm wearing my cloak wrong. She glanced down. Everything seemed to be in order. That can't be it. The secretary finally took a few seconds to flip through some files, then nodded.
"You may go in," Indicating where Taela was to enter. Taela bowed briefly before scurrying off. Whew. That was a lot more stressful than expected. I hope not everyone's like that. She knocked quietly on the door, waiting to be told to enter. Oh, I hope he's nice. she thought hopefully. She stood near the door, waiting for the captain's permission.

~~Taela S. Atlas~~

Taela had been waiting for a whole hour. She had blown her nose until it was sore, scratched her skin so much it was raw, paced until her feet seemed like they were about to fall off, torn up several tissues, then cleaned them up. What could be taking so long? She finally sat down by the door when the secretary came over. Taela stood up, not wanting to seem childish.
"Oh, dear, it seems to have slipped my mind. The captain is out. I'll tell him you came. Feel free to take care of any business." Taela nodded quickly. Phew! Thank goodness! She curtsied.
"Thank you! I'll come back later." Taela flashed her a smile before exiting the room.
Business to take care of... she thought. She had heard a rumor about a benevolent witch who lived in East Blue. Taela decided to give this witch a visit.
Maybe she can grant my wish. Excited by this thought, she hurried home to gather Tweverel. The two of them traveled to East Blue together, anxious to see this Witch of the East Blue.

How truly interesting you really are...

After a few days had gone by for the trip home, one of Soren's ships could be seen as it slowly pulled into port, docking as the men slowly piled out. "Welcome home Captain" One of the men said to Soren as he stepped off the ship. "What you missed while you were away is waiting for you in a report on your desk sir" He said as Soren nodded to him. "good job, now help the others get settled back into their homes... tell the men they've all earned some time off... but keep the others at the ready per usual..." He said as his man saluted him before running off to help the others. After a few minutes of walking, Soren finally came to his main building. Entering as his secretary greeted him. "Welcome back Captain, your new medical division commander came by earlier, I'm not sure where she's gone at this point tho" She said as Soren nodded. "I see... if she comes by again send her in" He said walking down the hall before entering his office. He too a seat in his chair as he passed out the moment he hit it...

After a quick ten minute nap, his eye's shot open as he leaned forward quickly, grabbing onto his desk as to not fall off his chair. His eye's were locked on the report before him as he simply sighed and opened the thing up. "of course..." He mumbled as his eye's slid across the paper, scanning the thing thoroughly... "Ah... so the new cannons arrive tomorrow... perfect... tho we're going to need to fill an order to request two new ships..." He mumbled with a sigh. "how could I lose two ships... I have a title to uphold... I've never lost anyone or any ships... and today I lost three good men... and two good ships..." He said to him self leaning back to look up at the cieling. "I suppose I had no way of knowing it was going to happen... But never the less... I thought I was the one who prepared for every possible situation... never the less... I know she's out there now... and I can plan in peace" He said as he continued reading the report.
