3. What is your sexual orientation?
[ ] Heterosexual [ ] Homosexual [x] Bisexual [ ] Asexual [ ] Other:
4. Do you agree or disagree with labeling people based on their sexuality? Explain.
I feel a bit towards both. I would disagree because people aren't soup cans. We're not all the same, and it gives rise to sterotypes. But, I can agree because it also gives people with similiar traits a sense of belonging somewhere.
5. Do you tend to use labels everytime you engage in a conversation with someone?
[ ] Yes [x] No
6. Labels limit self-expression.
[ ] Strongly Agree [x] Agree [ ] Disagree [ ] Strongly Disagree

8. Did you come out to someone yet? [x] Yes [ ] No 9. If yes, to whom did you come out to? Friends and parents 10. What was their response during and after you came out?
My friends were cool with it. My mom strongly believes I'm in a phase. My dad didn't really care.
11. How old were you when you came out? 14 for friends. 15 for parents. 12. Have you been bullied or harassed at school for being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[ ] Yes [x] No
13. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [x] No. Explain
I wasn't personally bullied, but I have heard word of some certain individuals bing ridiculed.
14. What solution did you come up with?
Ignore the idiots. What else? I don't have that much time to waste.
15. Have you witnessed any form of harassment or bullying with regards to the victim being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[ ] Yes [x] No
16. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [x] No. Explain.
I have personally seen any harrassment. Our school is pretty tolerant and open. We've got quite a few LGBTQ students and even a teacher. :]
17. Does your school have a gay-straight alliance?
[x] Yes [ ] No
18. Is it:
[ ] Very helpful [x] Helpful [ ] Not Very Helpful
19. Have you experienced internalized homophobia (discrimination towards oneself for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, etc.)?
[x] Yes [ ] No
20. If yes, please explain it in brief detail.
I've had my gay feelings since I was pretty young, so when the thought first came to me that I might be a lesbian somewhat scared me. I kinda went in a bit of denial and shut out all forms of physical contact with anyone for a while, but gradually, I came to accept, around the end of middle school. It's quite different now, as I openly embrace my queerness. :]

TylerAnnihilate I find it ironic, and mildly entertaining that the people who answered the second question about labels saying that labels shouldn't restrict sexuality and stuff, answered with their sexuality in the next question. If you think that human sexuality is open and not restricted to labels, then you shouldn't mark "homosexual" as your sexuality, because isn't that a label? I don't know, Im just ranting. Labels are just keen for me.
I noticed that, too. I've also noticed a lot of answers that indicate that for a lot of people, "labels" equates to "prejudice", or something along those lines.
Personally, when I think "label" (in regard to sexuality), I think of the generic terms like homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual, pansexual, etc. To me, these words are neutral. There was nothing mentioned in the survey about defining a person's personality based on that label, but a lot of respondents went on in detail about how labels are bad, and how we shouldn't judge others.
It's just interesting to me how each person interprets the question. :3

If you think that human sexuality is open and not restricted to labels, then you shouldn't mark "homosexual" as your sexuality, because isn't that a label? I don't know, Im just ranting. Labels are just keen for me. I think it would depend on what you consider a lable. In my opinion, saying you're homosexual is a way of expressing, in a simple term, the sexes/genders you feel attracted to. Saying someone is a "dyke" or "f*****t" is a label to the term - and is typically harmful.
I dunno. I had a lot more written, then I gave up trying to explain myself. neutral
And I agree with Taeryyn, everyone has a unique view of the argument.

Age: 19 Gender: [ ] Male [x ] Female [ ]Transgender
[ ]Transexual [ ]Genderqueer [ ]Other: __________
1. A clear definition of what constitutes as feminine or masculine is:
[ ] Extremely Important [ ] Very Important [ ] Not Very Important [x] Not at all Important
2. Human sexuality is considered to be open and is not restricted to labels.
[x] Strongly Agree [ ] Agree [ ] Neither Agree nor Disagree [ ] Disagree [ ] Strongly Disagree
3. What is your sexual orientation?
[ ] Heterosexual [ ] Homosexual [ ] Bisexual [ ] Asexual [x] Other: Queer: I'm most attracted to women but I don't like to say that I'm exclusively attracted to them. As far as I can remember I haven't been attracted to a man in... forever xD Still, I like to be open to the possibility. The word lesbian seems too limiting, but I don't really fit the label of bisexual either. So, queer =P
4. Do you agree or disagree with labeling people based on their sexuality? Explain.
Ehhh. I guess I mostly disagree. I mean, if you're just using the label to express your sexuality then sure. I don't use labels like that because I just don't really fit, but if you find one that suits you, why not. As long as you're ok with that.
At the same time it's important to remember that you are more than whatever label you stick on yourself or others stick on you. There's more to a person than any one label could ever say xD
5. Do you tend to use labels everytime you engage in a conversation with someone?
[ ] Yes [X] No
6. Labels limit self-expression.
[ ] Strongly Agree [X] Agree [ ] Disagree [ ] Strongly Disagree
7. Coming out is:
[ ] Very Important [ ] Important [X] Neutral [ ] Not Very Important [ ] Not At All Important
8. Did you come out to someone yet? [X] Yes [ ] No 9. If yes, to whom did you come out to?
Quite a few of my friends, my mom, and my sister.
10. What was their response during and after you came out?
My friends were kinda shocked, honestly xD My sister ignored me mostly. I mean, when I told her I had a girlfriend (at the time) she was playing with the dog and she said "don't you think Lucky looks like a seal?".
My mom forced it out of me because she already knew. She said it was ok and that she was accepting, and then later told me how disappointed she was. But over all she's pretty cool with it.
11. How old were you when you came out? 14 for most of my friends, 17 for my sister and my mom.
12. Have you been bullied or harassed at school for being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[ ] Yes [x] No
13. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [x] No
14. What solution did you come up with?
Wasn't harrassed so there wasn't really a solution =P Hahah.
15. Have you witnessed any form of harassment or bullying with regards to the victim being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[ ] Yes [x] No
16. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [X] No
17. Does your school have a gay-straight alliance?

Age: 14 Gender: [X] Male [ ] Female [ ]Transgender
[]Transexual [ ]Genderqueer [ ]Other: __________
1. A clear definition of what constitutes as feminine or masculine is:
[ ] Extremely Important [ ] Very Important [ ] Not Very Important [x] Not at all Important
2. Human sexuality is considered to be open and is not restricted to labels.
[ ] Strongly Agree [ ] Agree [x] Neither Agree nor Disagree [ ] Disagree [ ] Strongly Disagree
3. What is your sexual orientation?
[ ] Heterosexual [ ] Homosexual [ ] Bisexual [ ] Asexual [x] Other: pansexual (To clarify, I believe pansexuality and bisexuality are two different things. Gender and sex are two different things. Pansexuality describes being attracted to someone of any gender or sex; bisexuality is merely being attracted to someone of either sex.
4. Do you agree or disagree with labeling people based on their sexuality? Explain.
To me, labeling means to generalize. Homosexual males are overtly feminine, homosexual females are overtly masculine, bisexuals are homosexuals in denial, etc. Labels like "straight", "gay", and "pansexual" to me are only another description, like "Asian", "male", or "tall".
[X] Yes [ ] No
9. If yes, to whom did you come out to? Everyone who wants to know.
10. What was their response during and after you came out?
Friends: "It's okay, we don't care!" Mom: "YOU WILL BUUUUURN"
11. How old were you when you came out? 14
12. Have you been bullied or harassed at school for being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[X] Yes [ ] No
13. Did you tell someone about it? [] Yes [x] No. Explain
I figure it's just too much trouble, for me, and for the other kid. I don't want to make it worse or get them into trouble, as much as I want to, at the same time.
14. What solution did you come up with?
...Uh, stay around supportive teachers/friends. Hang around with people who know and are okay with it.
15. Have you witnessed any form of harassment or bullying with regards to the victim being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[X] Yes [ ] No
16. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [X] No. Explain.
Again, it's just too much trouble. Sometimes, if I feel it's a bit too far, I'll try to intervene, and stop it myself, but other times it's just things like "You're such a f**, dude, you like Hello Kitty?" or something like that.
17. Does your school have a gay-straight alliance?
[ ] Yes [x] No
18. Is it:
[ ] Very helpful [ ] Helpful [ ] Not Very Helpful [ ] Not Very Helpful
Don't have one, can't say.
19. Have you experienced internalized homophobia (discrimination towards oneself for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, etc.)?
[x] Yes [] No
For the longest time, yeah. It's hard for me to realize that it's okay, and sometimes I'll still be embarrassed about it.

4. Do you agree or disagree with labeling people based on their sexuality? Explain. I agree to an extent. Many people want to have something to say if someone asks them about their sexuality other than saying "i dont have one." 15. Have you witnessed any form of harassment or bullying with regards to the victim being GLBTQ or just perceived to be? [x ] Yes [ ] No
16. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [ x] No. Explain. I've seen quite a few instances of other people being bullied and usually I personally stepped in to tell the other person to back off. Doesnt work well on my part, but somebody has to do it.

1. A clear definition of what constitutes as feminine or masculine is:

[X] Strongly Agree [ ] Agree [ ] Neither Agree nor Disagree [ ] Disagree [ ] Strongly Disagree
3. What is your sexual orientation?
[ ] Heterosexual [X] Homosexual [ ] Bisexual [ ] Asexual [ ] Other: _______________
4. Do you agree or disagree with labeling people based on their sexuality? Explain.
Yes, it does however identify people more specifically on something about them. Labels have been used the wrong way and have become a negative item about us in some cases.
5. Do you tend to use labels everytime you engage in a conversation with someone?
[ ] Yes [X] No
6. Labels limit self-expression.
[X] Strongly Agree [ ] Agree [ ] Disagree [ ] Strongly Disagree
7. Coming out is:
[ ] Very Important [X] Important [ ] Neutral [ ] Not Very Important [ ] Not At All Important
8. Did you come out to someone yet? [X] Yes [ ] No 9. If yes, to whom did you come out to? _A few close friends and one sibling_ 10. What was their response during and after you came out?
I've only 'Come out' to people that I really trust that they wouldn't/hopefully treat me any differently. All of them were supportive, except my sister who had an 'Whatever' reaction.
11. How old were you when you came out? _19_ 12. Have you been bullied or harassed at school for being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[X] Yes [ ] No
13. Did you tell someone about it? [X] Yes [ ] No. Explain
The bullying was never directed at me, but at LGBTQ in general. As a whole they were derided since no one knew about my gender and believed I was straight. I only talked about it when I started suffering from anxiety. Talking about it was just an after effect from coming out to a fellow soldier.
14. What solution did you come up with?
There is no solution. Being openly gay and in the military is still outlawed. Living in a highly conservative and religious community doesn't help with finding any tolerance. The only people that have tolerance are from out of state.
15. Have you witnessed any form of harassment or bullying with regards to the victim being GLBTQ or just perceived to be?
[X] Yes [ ] No
16. Did you tell someone about it? [ ] Yes [X] No. Explain.
Standing up to a group of 20 stubborn students doesn't tend to end well. The fear of them finding out about my own homosexuality didn't help either.
17. Does your school have a gay-straight alliance?
[ ] Yes [X] No (Did, was folded after all funding was cut to the group)
18. Is it:
[ ] Very helpful [ ] Helpful [X] Not Helpful (When it was around) [ ] Not Very Helpful
19. Have you experienced internalized homophobia (discrimination towards oneself for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, etc.)?
[X] Yes [ ] No
20. If yes, please explain it in brief detail.
Discovering my own sexuality while serving in a military didn't help that much. The first thought is 'Oh great, I'm not supposed to be in the military. Guess I'm not a good citizen since soldiers are supposed to be good people.'
