Okay Amanda, we bought our first home.
It's an apartment, the building is only 4 years old and we got a good price... which was good because we juuuust scraped through the requirements to get approved for the loan. (Hubby had school in 2009)
I am extremely psyched for our new fireplace and dishwasher, and have already shed a couple of tears for my garden, which is facing a mass culling to fit my (fortunately 12 foot by 8 foot) balcony. I SHOULD be able to take a decent amount of my flowers and I'm going to layer all the bulbs... hopefully it will work out okay. We are excited and scared, I can say this is good but still feel panic as it's well out of my comfort zone, but I know that's only because we've never bought before. We did all our research and looked at all the numbers, we're good. It's going to cost only $100 more a month than we've been paying in rent and now we'll have equity building instead of nothing.
There are another 6 years left on the warranty of the building, and the Strata has a good chunk of money in its account for unforeseen costs, so we shouldn't have to face any sudden expenses for a while, please and thank you!
We signed the papers officially last night, but until I have the keys in my hand it still won't feel real.

This shall show us if you are magic or if the flora is!
