-- Forest Road --

User Image

A peaceful and serene path through the forests connecting the Rice Country and the fire Country, this is a well known and a well traveled path. Unfortunately, this also means that it is a particularly dangerous road as well. Despite it's beauty and tranquility... the deep underbrush of the forests on either side create many areas for thieves and others to hide and ambush trading parties, or even just travelers.

...most however would not travel the path alone, knowing that it is relatively prone to such criminal activity. Ninja travel the path in relative safety considering their training and ability to defend themselves, but it is not always the case. As such, escort missions are VERY common on these roads and it is not at all uncommon for escort caravans to pass each other on the road between countries.

As the rice fields faded behind her and the land began to change from flooded grasslands to forestry, Kye was already beginning to miss the beauty of her homeland. Coming upon the Forest Road however, her heart was lightened slightly at the peace and serenity the road offered. Walking down the path, she could feel the fresh breeze across her skin, carrying the scent of the grass and trees along with it. with the sounds of the forest all around her and birds chirping overhead, it was almost enough to forget that this was one of the more dangerous roads which anyone could travel. Kye had nothing to fear however, despite what it may have looked like considering she was a lone, aristocratically dressed, one-armed woman. This had the unfortunate side effect of being jumped every so often, forcing Kye to have to deal with the situation, but life was what it was in the ninja world... so long as it didn't cross over into her domain.

Making her way down the path, up ahead, Kye saw a lone trade wagon in the middle of the path, not moving. Looking around her quickly, she saw signs of the wagon having come from her direction, which means it must have been stopped for a while now. For any caravan to stop on these roads would be a death wish however, so the scene did not seem right. Regardless however, it was none of her concern as she simply continued walking. Approaching the wagon, she received several looks from the passengers inside and though they were trying to hide it, she could see the fear in their eyes. It was likely they were being robbed at the moment and that the criminal were hiding, but Kye did nothing about it until suddenly someone jumped out in front of her, pointing a katana at her head, making her stop suddenly in her tracks.

"Hold it right there. You look too good to pass up. You must be as dumb as this wagon is considering you're wandering alone." Kye said nothing to the remarks, in truth, it was simply annoying to her as she simply stared at the man with an uncaring and unworried expression. He was a typical criminal, thinking nothing of her. I mean after all, who would expect someone with only one arm to be any threat, or to be a shinobi at that, or to be one of the strongest shinobi in the ninja world beyond that. two other bandits emerged from the wagon, joining their leader in holding Kye up, as they stood behind her menacingly in ana ttempt to surround her and cover any possible escape. "Fine, you don't have to say anything... just be a good girl and hand over your pouch and any valuables... and that weapon you carry, looks interesting. Might as well hand it over. Doesn't look like it's doing a lady with one arm any good."

Without saying a word, Kye nodded, pulling her pouch from her side which was laden with coins and tossed it to the man, who peered into the pouch greedily, suddenly realizing that Kye was a woman with money. "Woah... looks like we got ourselves a winner here boys. hand the rest of it over lady and we promise to let you on your way." With a cold emotionless stare, Kye removed her spear from her back and tossed it towards the man to catch. However, what the man did not expect was for this weapon to weigh over 200 lbs. No one would have been able to guess it with the ease in which Kye had removed it and tossed it to the man casually with only one arm and no sign of strain. Given that it was filled on the inside with her iron sand, the weapon had nearly no weight to Kye, allowing her and no one else to wield it.

Kye had been careful to throw it with a good amount of momentum toward the man, so he would have to catch it up near his chest. As he held his hand out to grab it, his arm was not in anyway ready for the force as it was pushed back, the 200 pound weight of the staff crashing into his chest, knocking him to the ground instantly. Wasting no time, Kye moved like a blur, whirling around behind her and traveling about 10 feet to deliver a single, but crippling kick to the man's abdomen. Shot back about 5 feet from the attack, the man's clothes had been utterly marred and destroyed where the kick had hit, revealing a vicious patch of bruised, burned and bleeding skin. It may have been a single kick, but as a Daidoumyaku master, even one attack was enough to destroy internal organs and take an opponent out. The man hadn't even had time to react before being sent flying, his partner nearby, being left dazed and confused by the sudden maneuver.

Showing no mercy to his confusion, Kye quickly followed her attack up, leaping into the air gracefully as she spun around, performing a weak version of the Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, landing a single hit across the man's face with incredible precision and force. Sent flying off to the side of the road, the man crashed into the dirt, but had been knocked unconscious before even hitting the ground. Turning around, Kye saw that the leader was barely even recovering from being thrown the weapon before Kye seemingly disappeared from where she was, almost magically appearing above the man in a Flash Step, the signature move of the Shunko style she was taught by the great Jade Uchiha. "Next time, might just want to be satisfied with the pouch." Following her statement to seal the lesson into the man's body, Kye then thrust her palm, which quivered and shook with the with chakra which would collide with her opponent's body and send incredibly damaging vibrations through it. Striking downward into the man's right leg, followed quickly by another strike to his right, the man instantly howling in pain at the immensity of damage which was done to him in seconds. With both of the strikes landed by a Daidoumyaku master, his legs would now be useless, as she had crushed the bone in each of them and deeply and painfully bruised the muscle.

Recovering her pouch and her weapon, returning them both to their proper place on her person, Kye began to casually walk down the road again, paying no regard to the screams of agony behind her. She had never experienced it, but a shattered femur was supposed to be the most painful thing a person could endure... and that man now had two of them. with their assailants taken out, the wagon's owners popped out of their imprisoned positions and quickly made their way down the path, following Kye the entire way. She never turned to address them or attempted to stop them from following her, as she had no interest... but after seeing what she had done, they knew that she was the safest person in the world to travel behind, even if she had no personal interest in saving them as it seemed.

It was early morning by the time the wagon reached the forest road, Yasashii's clone having kept the wagon moving at a slow pace through the darkest part of the night to avoid any accident. As the terrain changed over from the muddy paths through rice fields and became solid, if a bit rough, roads the clone allowed the cart to increase in speed. This path being known for bandit attacks, he remained vigilant, eyes watching carefully for any signs of an ambush, though none seemed readily apparent. The thought crossed his mind that even if they did meet bandits, there was a good chance they would recognize Kye and flee immediately, if she had even let them live. He never had asked.

As the sun rose over the trees, lighting up the path, the clone guided the horse off of the main road, pulling to a stop. Hopping down from the cart, he grabbed a feed sack that was hanging off the side and walked up to the horse, strapping it on. The creature was strong and well trained, but even it needed a break, and to eat.

In the back of the wagon, Yasashii himself continued to sleep, quite happy to let his clone do the work as he rested. During the night, he had woken just long enough to send a second clone back towards the village and immediately gone back to sleep, in order to recover more energy from the drain. He was mildly worried about the progression of the students. Most of the teachers in the village had gone on long term missions or retired, so some help was likely to be needed even while he was gone.

As light began to fill the darkened sky on the horizon, Kye had found that she had passed most of the time in traveling in thought. When one traveled as often as she did, you were often times left with nothing but your own thoughts and so it was easy to be lost in them, losing track of all time. For her it was even worse, considering she had no fear of any attacks which could come against her, since her well honed instincts would immediately kick in, and her body was not likely to become fatigued with traveling alone.

As such, the current travel was even more like this then usual... since there was even less danger and even less to worry about. By the time the night sky had filled with light, they had arrived at the Forest Road and it was Kye's turn to sleep. As the wagon came to a halt and Yasa's clone cared for the Horse's needs, Kye got up and nudged Yasa in the side to wake him up, lying down on the floor next to him, seemingly not caring to wait until he got up to begin sleeping herself. "Your shift... let me know when we get to the borders of Suna." With those words, she then closed her eyes and nearly instantly drifted off into sleep, trusting that the clones and Yasa would take care of the rest.

Yasa groaned and rolled over as Kye took her place beside him, but conceded in the end, as there was really only space for one in the small spot, and it would be inconceivably rude to deny her her right to it. That, and that she was in all ways his superior, and had pretty much ordered it of him. Thus, he continued his roll, right out of the wagon and onto the ground, landing on his feet and stretching to loosen up his muscles. By this time, the clone had finished taking care of the horse and the wagon was rolling again, so for some time he code to simply walk alongside the wagon. It wasn't going terribly fast, but it was going fast enough to where he had to move at a good clip to keep up. Not much of a challenge for him, but a normal person would likely see it as more than the morning workout he was using it as.
