-- Lowland Rice Paddies --
This part of the Otogakure is by far the largest of the entire landscape, covering about 50% of territory. The flooded fields of rice production span for miles upon miles, with simple houses and huts interspersed amongst the countless paddy fields. when flooded, these lowland paddies are nearly impossible to traverse for most travelers with any kind of due speed due to the muddy earth and the winding paths between the rice fields. This is primarily the reason why the Otokage demands that the first skills young Genin learn be the 'Water Walking' skill, which allows the ninja of the village to run across the surface of these paddies without issue.
These paddies eventually lead to higher terrain up on both sides of Kariko village, sharply rising up to the base of the village at it's farthest edge. The rice fields here are maintained and cultivated by a mix of normal citizens and carefully placed middle ninja, such as Chuunin or Special Jounin. while posing as rice farmers, performing their duties and living as the other farmers do, they also serve as a primary line of defense and as guards of a sort, since these lowland paddies are the access point of all other parts of the Otogakure. In a way, that makes these fields function somewhat as the gates of the Otogakure. These fields are about a two days travel from Kariko Village, and a day from the Western Fields, or the Rising Hills.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Moving across the lowlands, Kye made a few more stops along the way, checking in at certain houses along the way, posing as Elise to assure that the Lowlands were prepared for her absence. Although she was the Lead Diplomat of the village, she was also the head of it's defense network, so it was her duty to assure the safety of the village in her absence. with all of the necessary precautions and security checks set up, Kye made her way across the vast Lowlands on her way out of the Rice Country.
Her destination was Konoha, hopefully the first of the villages which the Rice Country would form a non-aggression pact with, setting the Otogakure up as a neutral party to all villages, hopefully assuring that no war would come to it. In return, she would offer resources and a safe zone for all ninja, where aggression would not be tolerated. Kye would not allow her land to fall into the destruction it had during her childhood.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || With the use of the horse-drawn carriage, Kye and Yasa were making good time. they had just begun to enter the Lowlands, but it would take a bit of time to traverse them. Luckily, they had plenty of time on their hands and with the onset of Yasa's new technique and research, it would take Kye some time to decode and understand it all. It was clear that Yasa was up to his usual sealing tricks, but not being a trained master in seals as he was, it would likely take a few readings to fully understand it. As they were now more 'in the open' however, they would have to conceal their abilities somewhat more carefully, as the Lowlands were densely populated by commoners and ninja alike.
Having watched Yasa create his clone and then immediately begin to trace seals across it, Kye noted as always that Yasa in both his use of ninjutsu and sealing was in many ways an artist. The formation of crystals into his ninjutsu, or even clones which looked precisely like him and the intricate patterns required of a sealing master were concepts far removed from her in many ways. She felt immediately that she represented the exact opposite of him. She had grace in combat sure, but everything else was speed and raw power meant to overwhelm. It all seemed so much less intricate then Yasa's techniques... but then again, to each their own... and all shinobi had different sets of skills that they used to accomplish what they needed. By now the road had turned and was winding through the fields at a decent pace. it would take some time, but about half as long as it would if they were on foot. They would reach the borders of the Rice Country before nightfall. It would then be Yasa's decision whether or not he wanted to stop for the night.
Looking at the journal in hand, Kye opened it to see endless pages of Yasa's personal code. Of course, she knew the code by heart, but reading more then a couple lines of it took much more effort then his average message. The fact that it was not only in code, but also filled with high sealing theory far beyond her normal comprehension would only make the process longer. Having all the time in the world however, Kye studied the script for an hour or so and found herself rather intrigued by his proposed theories. If they could be proven to work, it would indeed revolutionize how the Otogakure could function and help them to hide themselves even more while still protecting the citizenship. "Heh, nothing short of genius Yasa, as I have come to expect from you in these matters. But have you had the proper time to create a trial and see if these theories of yours work when used in conjunction with one another? It seems to be such a delicate balance of triggers, yet it's meant to take untold amounts of punishment. Is such a thing really possible to produce effectively?"

During the time Kye spent reading through his journal, Yasashii amused himself with his own thoughts. The clone array was as complete as it could get, for now, as he had no current access to notes on the seals he would need to complete it. He'd have to pay a visit to the Suna library while they were in town. No, for the moment, he thought on a different technique. One he had become almost obsessed with since the idea entered his mind. Most would probably think him mad if he told them about it, but it amused him to no end, so his research continued. And who knew? Maybe one day it would save the mocker's lives. But for now he had no idea how he would even complete the technique, it would take some level of summoning theory, combined with elemental creation, and he wasn't entirely sure if it was even possible yet. But he would try.
Snapped from his thoughts as Kye finished reading and spoke, Yasashii smiled and nodded, then after a slight pause, shook his head. "No, not really. It is possible to create, but it is extremely draining. Example, for you or I, lifting a gallon of water and carrying it across a room is nothing. For a small child though, they exert all their strength to lift that bottle, and then carrying it across the room drains them completely of energy. This is comparable to that child. Something I could do with little effort, will be difficult for it." he explained. Since they were moving along at a good speed, there was little to no worry of the farmers picking up on what was being said, so long as he left out key words that Kye could fill in for herself anyways.
"I haven't tested this particular setup before, but I do use similar systems in other areas, and have plans to use more. Nxot ihn ot run tu towvda it tuwa nxorj." he finished, the last sentence barely more than a whisper. He wasn't certain Kye would be able to understand it, since he rarely made a habit of speaking his code aloud, but it was possible.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Kye seemed rather reserved even though the ability to create such clones through the use of seals would have revolutionized how the Otogakure protected itself, but most of that was practiced skepticism. Still, as Yasa spoke, it seemed promising, but in the end, Kye would only believe it when she saw it. "Well, perhaps you'll get an opportunity for a trial on a trip. You never know what might happen on the way to Suna. it is an intriguing concept however... and you're right, its not simple at all." Those last words were thrown in at the end just to let him know that she was able to interpret what he had said earlier. It was a bit surprisingly, but it sounded much like it was read, so Kye was able to piece it together. With the number of codes running around in her head due to the village's normal operation, she had gotten quite good at deciphering even difficult codes.
"Still, even just one bucket of water is useful if you gather it for the day and save it for the next. The question is, how long can said bucket of water last? If it can be stretched over a day, then when you return with a new bucket in the morning, you are in much better shape then usual and are capable of doing more. Am I right?" Yasa would of course catch on to the fact that she was referring to the bucket of water just as he was, but expounding on the connection by bringing it to the next day... the question being, would this be a useful technique in the long run. As she waited for her answer however, she realized that they were just about half-way through the lowlands and the light was starting to get dim as the evening was rolling in. By the time they reached the borders, it would be nightfall.
Not that it was any concern to her to travel at night, but Kye was eager to get to Suna and eager to see if she could succeed in having a non-aggression pact signed between the two villages. With all of the details rolling around in her head, she had almost forgotten that she asked Yasa a question and instead was envisioning all of the ways her encounter with Jade could go down.

Yasashii nodded as Kye finished, but rather than looking at her at this point, he was watching the sunset. The sunset over the rice fields was a fascinating thing, and he had to count himself lucky they had timed their trip so perfectly as to see it. The sun bathing the water in the flooded pools a rich orange, to the point where all that could be seen for seemingly miles was a rich golden terrain. A beauty of nature.
Breaking away from the trance the view sought to put him in, Yasashii nodded once more. "Correct. If one can make the bucket of water last until morning, they can simply add the remainder to a water barrel before going to get more. Do this consistently, and you'll have water stored up for long term use. So long as the barrel doesn't leak, you'll be in good shape."
As he finished talking, Yasashii looked to the road again, observing that they were nearing the end of the Otogakure region. Soon they would be in the public lands, and someone would actually have to guide the horse. One of the clones could probably handle that, allowing Kye and Yasashii to sleep.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Nodding to Yasa's statement, Kye acknowledged the worthiness of the technique silently, still somewhat skeptical of it's application until it had been proven. Yasa however was not one to speak without purpose and his theories were often correct, so Kye had a bit more faith in the success of his newest concept then normal, but she still wanted to see it in action. It would require a lot of investment, but if it worked, it would surely be revolutionary. Turning her eyes to the orange hues of the setting sun off of the endless rice paddies of her home land, Kye stared into them, soaking in the beauty of her home as they got closer and closer to the borders of the the Otogakure.
Looking out over the serenity of the land, one would think that her blank stare and emotionless expression was perhaps recalling memories of her past or childhood, happily spent among her homeland... but they would be wrong. Kye had never had such memories and she had spent her entire life fighting that perhaps one day a child of the Rice Country to grow to never experience what she had to. If nothing else, she had achieved that for the newest generation, but that wasn't enough. She wanted war to be a distant memory, a past that barely anyone remembered, except for those tasked with the duty to guard against future wars. Hopefully, these talks and her travels would accomplish this, but that is all she had at this time... hope.
The talks that were upcoming would determine the success of her dream... but if she could pull it off, she may be able to find the peace she had been searching for all this time.
