-- Tatsumaki Village --

Apply named for the fierce weather conditions due to it's altitude, the Tatsumaki Village, (or Whirlwind Village), is the residing place of the Otokage. The village itself is small, more like a settlement then anything else, and sticks out as a sort of "in the middle of nowhere" residence. Only the Otokage and a select few of her guards and adjutants live here and it is more or less a loose base of operations where the general organization and actions of the Otogakure are decided.
The village itself is located about a day and half away from Kariko village by foot, but no one who lives in this village is not able to make the trip significantly faster with shunshin techniques. All messenger birds from other villages find their way to and from this small village to carry missions and orders across the landscape to the Otogakure's ninja. To mask the flight paths of the swallows so that no one could effectively track this position down as the base of operations, the Tatsumaki Village was placed on the opposite end of a mountain across from Kariko Village. Given that it is both much higher up then Kariko Village and on the other side of a mountain peak, it would be insanely difficult, if not impossible to track the swallow's path to this location.
Even if someone did find the village however, to outsiders however, this village would appear nothing more then a quaint collection of farming houses, with a more 'rustic' feel then Kariko Village. The atrium where many of the swallows are kept could also be explained as being a transit stop for the messages rather then their place of origin.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Walking out of her house, which was as she considered it, the very center of the Otogakure, Kye began to take a light stroll through her small village, waving to some of her close adjutants which were hard at work in their small fields. they of course knew who she was, but they were the only ones. She had worked very hard to create an alter ego for herself and had guarded her true identity as the greatest secret of the land. posing as a diplomat for the Rice Country, Kye had allowed herself to seem innocuous enough in the land, yet well known enough to be respected and listened to.
Having finally strolled to a high bluff not far behind her house, Kye looked out over the Rice country and stood for a long time, her hair and loose clothes rustling in the high winds of the area. It was beautiful, just as she had always thought it was and she thought about what it took to protect it everyday. Everything she did, all the secrets kept... all of it was to protect her people. Now however, times were changing. More and more ninja were coming to the village to be trained and she could no longer wave them aside. the village's reputation was growing and it would have to be carefully fostered and formed.
Looking out over the land, she stood for a long time before securing the larger spear hung behind her by a gold rope seconds before jumping off the cliff, disappearing from the sight of all others. Anyone who had seen her jump off knew that they had no concern for her well being. It wasn't always known how she got around the way she did, but Kye always seemed to get there faster then most would seem possible. today however, she was on her way to the village to see some of the new faces and try to find out where their roles in the Otogakure would stand.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Just as a large gust of wind whipped through the mountaintop village, the Otokage, Kye arrived on the edge of the precipice overlooking the entire Rice Country. She had traveled a long distance in a matter of minutes using her Flash Step technique taught to her long ago, but seemed to be no worse the wear after performing the physically demanding feat. It was a testament to her amazing conditioning more then anything else, but also to her control... not that anyone would ever know. Looking out over the wind swept landscape, Kye took some time to close her eyes and breathe the fresh air once more. She had come from a bustling city life atmosphere clogged with the smell of food merchants, crowds of people in perfume and otherwise invading her senses. But now, she was home, in the mountains, breathing the fresh, clean air of the Rice Country.
Taking in the feeling of home for several more minutes, Kye felt extremely relaxed, but was then ready to get on her way again. Other villages would need visiting, but for now, there were internal matters for her to deal with. Knowing what her first stop would be, as it was always her first stop when she wanted information, Kye simply leaned forward off of the high bluff, free falling through the air in what would seem like a suicide attempt to anyone looking on. However, the seclusion of this area and it's high mountain peak made it very unlikely that anyone would see her, and even if they could, she would quickly disappear again, having initiated another Flash Step, disappearing mid-fall, confounding anyone who might have seen her fall, possibly only to think their eyes were playing tricks on them on noticing that the falling object no longer existed where they thought it would be.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Arriving in a sudden flash within a secluded portion of the Tatsumaki village, namely the high-fenced Zen Garden she kept in her backyard, Kye allowed herself to finally sighed in relief, having escaped back into seclusion. The events of the night had been far more alarming then she would have ever thought it could have been. To think that such an operation could be undertaken by a single person within her country without even a whisper, or rumor of it's existence worried her. Then again, she wasn't about to start ordering search and seizure orders across the country. However, a roll call of all active and inactive ninja across the country would have to be taken to assure that no one was being forgotten about and 'visits' could provide the proper investigations she might need.
All of this rolled around in her head as well as more plans to tighten some areas of security, in particular extending the border guards out to the furthest reaches of her country more regularly. However, it would, even with it's importance have to take a back seat to her trip to Suna. Hiashi would need time to properly bury the investigation and quell rumors anyway, so it was probably best that such things wait. As it was, Kye had more immediate things to prepare for. Taking off her outer robe, Kye stepped into her house, sliding the doors closed behind her as she went around igniting the lanterns which lit her house. Taking some time to wash herself and put on fresh bandages over her wounds, Kye put on a fresh pair of her more casual garments and then sat to write a note.
After a few minutes of scribbling what would be absolutely incomprehensible jargon to anyone else, she rolled the small piece of paper into a scroll shape, placing it inside a tiny container as she went outside into her back yard again where a small cage of sparrows was kept. Feeling the wind rush through the mountainside village violently, Kye braced herself on instinct, well acquainted with the high winds of her home village as she reached inside, attaching the note to one of the swallows before removing it and setting the swallow free into the air, as it immediately flew up and adjusted course on it's way to Kariko village, knowing full well who it's target was. Kye then went back inside to await their arrival.

Nomiya YasashiiOtogakure | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ After a short (running at full speed and occasionally taking shortcuts over the edges of cliffs) trip up the mountain, Yasashii arrived in the small mountaintop village. Knowing full well that there was nothing to fear from the few inhabitants, he walked to Kye's house and knocked on the door, pulling his face mask down, only having changed his clothes to disguise himself for the trip up the mountain. ~ [Chakra: 146/146]Holy crap, I think this is my shortest Yasashii post ever.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Hearing the rap at her door, Kye immediately got up from her seat, where she had been reading the journal she had received at Shin's Grandmother's lab. What she had been learning was disturbing, but also useful as it was opening her eyes to many things. Putting the thoughts aside for a moment, Kye closed her eyes quickly, reaching out with her senses across the door until she was able to sense Yasa's presence, confirming his aura and energy levels before sliding the door open to invite him in... "Punctual as always old friend, come on in, I've made some tea for our meeting."
Kye's tone was calm for everything which had happened recently, but small remnants of her battle would clearly be present to someone of Yasa's skill and ability. There were several cuts and scrapes across her face, her right arm had some some bandages creeping up around the back of her palm, and her arm was slung on her sleeve when she wasn't using it, showing that it still needed to be rested. They were all little details, but the idea that Kye would even have scrapes and bruises would be enough to bring up suspicion to anyone who knew her full gamut of abilities. Kye said nothing about any of it though as she turned, expecting Yasa to follow her in and shut the door, moving into the side room where tea and some cookies were set out across a small table with three chairs around it.
Sitting down, she poured some tea for herself and Yasa and offered him the seat across from her. "We will be setting out for our trip to Suna tomorrow after I have had some rest, but before we discuss the details of that mission, I have something I need to show you." Taking the journal she had removed from the lab in hand, she pushed it over to Yasa and then continued on... "I retrieved that journal from a well hidden and dangerously well guarded underground lab in the Western Ricelands. It would appear that there is more to this Shin child then we once would have thought. I traced his kunai to a woman, an old operative of the village now retired. Not surprisingly, she settled on the outermost outskirts of that region and was silent for many years. it appears however that she was conducting research to re-make a once famous Otokage, whose name I don't think I have to mention."
"Using genetic samples, she manipulated and spliced the DNA into her own daughter, causing her to give birth to a son who she hoped would display qualities similar to the one in question. The daughter died unexpectedly, from what she believes was a strange poison passed into her system from the child, but the child lived. Her experiment didn't seem to work however. Her logs show increasing frustration with the boy's failures to learn at the speeds she had hoped a child prodigy with his DNA would. The one success however was that she was able to slow his aging. That child is Shin... and he could very well live to be over 150 years old, if not more according to her calculations." Giving some time for Yasa to soak all that was said in, she paused as she sipped some tea and allowed him to peruse the journal. "...and then the logs suddenly end abruptly. The entries going to only about 2 weeks before Daichi first met Shin. She made some reference to finally 'correcting' the failed experiment, but then nothing else was ever written, and I found no sign of the woman anywhere in my investigation."
Stopping again, she gave Yasa time to think as she simply waited in a patient manner, giving him time to absorb everything and formulate his ideas. "What is your take on it Yasa? Have you seen anything or heard any reports about anything strange occurring? What have you seen of the boy?... What have the eyes of the village been saying recently?"

Nomiya YasashiiOtogakure | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ "Of course." Yasashii nodded, following the woman inside and sliding the door shut behind him. As expected, he did take notice of her injuries, and immediately understood why she'd called him here rather than stopping by the bar. She'd found something in her search, something dangerous, even to one of her skill. The thought was both worrisome, and invigorating. It wasn't often they got a lot of action around here, and it looked like she'd found a hornet's nest. That thought was confirmed as they sat down and Kye began her story, Yasashii skimming the journal as she went. The mention of the otokage though... That was definitely worrisome. There was a reason they referred to Kye as the first Otokage, and not that man. He'd never been able to prove it, but he was fairly certain the war that had destroyed the old Otogakure and Rice country was brought on by him and his followers. His ideals and beliefs. The thought that someone would try to bring him back... And the worst part was, with him, it wasn't entirely implausible either. As Kye went on to detail the methods the woman had used to make it all possible, Yasashii continued to follow in the book, filling in the gaps left in Kye's summary. The aging bit was interesting, but not so worrisome as the other things she had tried to do to the boy. The final entry though, the timing was definitely a worry. As Kye finally finished, Yasashii frowned, laying the journal down on the table. "She sought to correct the failed experiment, the journal ends, and an amnesiac appears in the middle of Kariko wielding her weapons. And you say she's gone missing? Best case scenario, she's vanished for good, but somehow I doubt it's that easy. Worst case, she reproduced some of that man's techniques, and we can't trust Shin not to be a ticking time bomb. She could also have relocated herself and started up her experiments again elsewhere, which would best explain her vanishing." Yasashii frowned, tapping his fingers rapidly against the table. There were too many different things that could have happened, and not many of them would end well. "The boy is remembering too." he spoke again, his drumming stopped. "I had a clone help with the student's training, part of an experimental technique I'm working on, and it reported that the boy was remembering. That means somehow one of the birds I sent out made it's way to him, and he managed to decipher the academy code, and found his way to the academy. He remembered his full name too. Shin Naga. I'd heard of a Zin Naga from the last chuunin exams, but if what this journal says is even partially true, that clan is to be watched carefully. I also overheard him telling another boy that he remembered learning a technique Daichi taught him before, so there's no telling what he may already have locked away in his memory. Yasashii stopped for a moment, finally picking up the cup of tea provided and taking a sip before he spoke again. "But I haven't heard anything that could link to this matter. She's hidden her tracks well, and if she's still out there... I have nothing to go on for finding her.~ [Chakra: 146/146]

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Remaining motionless as Yasa spoke, Kye was obviously deep in thought as she processed what he said. A lot of what he said was true and essentially, she still didn't know much about the situation. She had considered that perhaps the woman had reproduced some technique which would allow her to re-emerge on some level again, but really, they would have no idea if she would be capable of such a thing. More intelligence on the situation was needed. "We still have more research to do and I have several more documents from her lab to examine, so the jury is out on Shin and the potential threat he may represent. But at the same time, he is one way or another, a citizen of this country... he deserves the right to be given a chance and to be made aware of his situation. we can discuss how to deal with him later though."
"For the time being I have dispatched Hiashi to do what he does best, burying the incident under rumors and carefully placed doubt and confusion while gathering as much credible information for me as possible. Attaining that journal was no small task. The lab was well defended and I doubt that even most Jounin, excepting perhaps yourself could have survived. The injuries you see are a result of a massive summoning, a snake summoning... a rather powerful one at that. I was able to defeat it, but was just barely able to escape before the border patrols arrived. And on top of it all, the lab self-destructed just prior to my escape, leaving us with even less to learn from it all. We will simply have to let Hiashi do as he does best while we continue with our own work. It will likely take him a couple of weeks to fully take care of the situation." Stopping again to sip her tea once more, Kye looked to be deep in thought before she finally came back to speaking with Yasa.
"We will let Shin continue on and will continue to observe his growth. If he has already started to remember, careful observation and discussion with the boy will reveal the holes of his past which we cannot see. We will speak to Daichi and with the Ushio he was training with. They will be our eyes on the boy and of course, you will be watching him when possible. In the meantime, we have a mission to complete. Discussions with the Hokage were promising, but inconclusive... and discussion with the Kazekage will be, quite different. She is one of the few people in this world who knows me, as I was once a student of hers. She was the one who developed the Shunko which I use and she taught it to me personally. So, obviously, negotiations with her will be different... to say the least. You however will be my secret weapon... as she is quite found of Sake, and no one makes better Sake then you."
"Just remember, she knows me, but not that I am the Otokage. She will however likely refer to me as Kye if she chooses not to call me by one of the pet names she likes to give her students. We must try to minimize that as much as possible to avoid too many people overhearing it. Also, as you know, when traveling with other operatives, I prefer not to use my skills and simply allow others to fight for me to keep up appearances. However, if she attacks me, don't try to get in her way. We go back a long way and is probably just being playful. She will however expect me to respond, and I will, so don't be alarmed if it occurs." Kye was trying to cover all the angles, but she was sure that she was leaving some things out of the picture... there were just so many factors in dealing with Jade and still keeping her own identity secret that it was difficult to note them all. That is after all why she was bringing Yasa, who besides his normal talents, knew who she was already... so she would not be exposing herself to anyone from the Otogakure.
"Do you have any questions for me before we begin to prepare for our trip?"

Nomiya YasashiiOtogakure | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ Yasashii remained silent as Kye talked, nodding at appropriate points and sipping his tea as his mind went over the details she was revealing. Hiashi's involvement was a point of interest, as the man was truly skilled at burying information. Not quite enough so to keep Yasashii from picking it from the bits that remained, but plenty to keep most in the dark, or at least confused. In this particular instance, he'd probably plant some false information and have it done with within a short time. What was truly interesting though, was the summoning. A snake of such power took a lot of power to summon, and as Kye told it, it had to have been summoned remotely. Most likely with a specialized sealing array. That sort of technique took skill, even he hadn't quite figured out the methods behind such a thing yet. So, not only were they dealing with a ninja capable of genetic experimentation, wishing to revive the worst man in Oto history, but a sealing master as well. A master of traps particularly. But as Kye said, that would come later. Hopefully nothing would ever come of that woman at all, so there was no point focusing solely an her. Nodding his agreement to letting Shin continue and having Daichi observe him, he found himself somewhat surprised at the revelation of the kazekage knowing Kye's identity. That would make negotiations easier, but as she said, there was the slight worry of her revealing it to those who should not know. As Kye finished, with a short mention of letting others fight for her, Yasashii nodded again. It was an obvious thing really, with her position, she had to do that or risk suspicion. Yasashii did too, to a lesser degree. As the owner of the most popular bar in Rice, he had some leeway to show his fighting skills, but as little as possible of the ninja variety. The times either of them could simply let loose were few and far between, usually restricted to when they were alone, against an enemy that either was going to die, or would never speak of the exchange again. "On the note of fighting, should we take some of the genin, once they've been tested? Two have passed Daichi's first stage training, and I already taught them all of the basic jutsu except for wall walking, and their elemental techniques. Taking them along could provide them with valuable field experience, and so long as we don't have to rescue them, could provide good cover."~ [Chakra: 146/146]

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Kye thought for some time on Yasa's last question, taking a long sip of her tea in the process, but then came to a quick and firm decision regarding the manner... "While this would be good experience for the Genin, the situation would allow far too many opportunities where my identity could be revealed. Besides, without the use of elemental ninjutsu of their rank and the water/wall walking techniques, I'm afraid they might simply slow us down or become a quick liability."
"We will have other trainers focus on completing their regimes and teaching them the necessary skills, at which point, they can accompany me on my trip to the Iwagakure where there will be less opportunity for my identity to be revealed. As for keeping up appearances on the road, I believe that clones will suffice in serving as guards for the majority of the way. Setting them up should prove easy enough for you and between the two of us, we can do the real damage to any threat while making it look like the clones did all the work." Kye wished she could bring the Genin, but unfortunately, there would just be too many chances where the Kazekage, in her usual flamboyant way, could reveal Kye's identity to anyone standing around.
"Does that sound like a more prudent plan to you?... or do you disagree with my assessment?" Taking a sip of tea while she waited for her answer, Yasa would be well aware that this was not a question she asked very often. Kye was rather decisive in all things and asking others for their opinions wasn't normally in the mix. However, Yasashi was a trusted operative and friend, and as such, she respected his opinions enough to lend him the opportunity for a rebuttal. With the night growing darker outside however, Kye hoped that their discussion would be over soon as she severely needed some rest. Naturally, none of that could be read through her body language, but it was still very true considering the afternoon/evening's events.

Nomiya YasashiiOtogakure | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ "No." Yasashii answered immediately. While he would have liked to see some of the genin get a bit more field experience, she was correct in her assessment. This was not the best place for it. "I'll give my plans for their test to someone else then, since I won't be around to cover it. As for the clones... Give me some time, I'm working on something in that regard." he said with the faintest trace of a grin crossing his face. Standing up, Yasashii bowed respectfully to Kye. "If there is nothing else, I shall leave you to your rest?" he both stated and asked, to confirm that there was nothing left to discuss. Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || "Well whatever you need to work out, work it out quickly. We don't have time to sit around. The longer we wait to conduct these negotiations, the more chance there is that circumstances beyond our control might destroy our cause. I expect you to be ready to leave by tomorrow, it shouldn't be too hard for you to make the necessary preparations." Kye might have seemed strangely urgent to complete this trip, but it was a mix of passion to finally see peace brought to her land and to want to get the trip to Suna over with quickly to avoid any exposure of her name.
Travelling to Konoha had taught her something... that the carefully crafted pretense of her identity in the Otogakure became weaker and weaker as she spread her flase name across the ninja world. Konaga were a rare breed, but not unheard of... and the more she used that name, the more likely it became that someone could defraud her claim and collapse the carefully woven net she had made. even introducing herself as Konaga Elise to the Hokage was a mistake she was cursing herself for, since the Hokage had apparently heard of them before. If anyone ever got together to compare notes, esepcially the Kazekage, there would be a lot of danger in exposing her identity. So the sooner this trip was over, the better, and she could continue her mission to find lasting peace for her land.
Finishing her tea, Kye simply ended her comments with, "But you are right, I need to rest and regain my strength for the journey." And with that, she placed down the cup and waited for yasa to finish, before getting up and leading him to the door. "Your punctuality, service, and friendship is appreciated as always Yasa. With both of us assigned to this mission, I have no doubt it will be a success. We will hopefully usher in a new era of peace for our land soon."

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || As soon as Yasa had left, Kye closed the door to her home and began to walk around the house, extinguishing one flame after another until her house was left in utter darkness. Navigating the simple layout of her home, Kye easily found her room, where her futon was already set up on the floor, calling to her for a good night's rest. Opening a single panel on the upper portion of the room, Kye could feel stiff winds blow through the mountainside and into her house providing a constant natural stream of moving wind through her room which was cooling and soothing, letting just the right amount of moonlight into the room.
Removing her outer robe, exposing the wrapping around her wounds to the air for ventilation, Kye laid down on her futon and closed her eyes, her mind rushing through many thoughts, but none more prevalent then the success of the negotiations. This was her life's work moving even further forward. Of course, Kye knew that it was practically naive to believe that she could eradicate war from the Rice Country completely, but she ran the race as if she believed it really could happen. In either case, she was taking all the steps necessary to form stable relationships with all nations, which would hopefully minimize the possibilities of war.
Running through all of this in her mind, planning what she would say, and what needed to be said, her mind soon drifted off into a calm and relaxing sleep, leaving her to dream and truly see her visions come true, if only until morning...

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Her eyes slowly opening to the sun shining in through the open window of her room, Kye could here the swallows her her back yard chirping as a brisk wind whipped through the valley, causing the shudders on her house to shake. As if on cue, a swallow then flew into her room, carrying with it a blue string bearing white letters across it's length. Landing on Kye's chest, as she was still lying down, the swallow dangled the note in front of her as she lazily reached up and grabbed it, reading it slowly...
"The destruction of the LAB was complete excepting a few contraband relics which I have been able to procure for 'further investigation'. News of the explosion has spread quickly, but rumors have also started to circulate that the lab was a secret installation of the Otokage himself, who was working on a new compound to increase the fertility of crops. Unfortunately, the serum was a failure, and the formulas they were using had an unexpected explosive effect which ricocheted through the LAB. Fortunately, several ANBU operatives were able to save the researchers just prior to the explosion. The citizenship has already begun praising the Otokage for his ingenuity in trying to keep the nation's productivity high while simultaneously safeguarding the lives of his people."
Smiling a bit at the end of the message, Kye sat up on her mattress, the swallow flying away as she allowed herself some time to absorb the information... "Well played as always Hiashi...". After allowing the appropriate amount of time for her body to fully wake up along with her mind, Kye got up, making all the necessary preparations for leaving that day for Suna, packing a simple bag with a change of clothing as well as some water, rations, and the documents/supplies she would require. Washing up, eating, dressing, and donning her weapon, Kye was finally ready to go, but there was only one thing remaining... a few minutes later, Kye stepped out of her home, followed only a split second behind by a mysterious figure dressed in black with several colorful scarfs and accessories flowing off of him, his face veiled only to reveal cold eyes behind an ornate mask.
Looking rather menacing, the figure followed Kye closely, making it clear that he was a bodyguard/escort of some kind as the two began to journey on foot to Kariko Village to meet up with Yasa. Also, by the looks of things, he would appear to be more then your average guard as his appearance and dress set him apart, making him look rather unique. This gave him a somewhat mercenary appeal which was an attempt to make him seem to be more skilled/danger then the typical guard and certainly not someone to be trifled with.
