User ImageEriko rubbed her right upper arm with her left hand while nodding with a sheepish smile at his response. She did not trust her words or her voice for that matter to pull off the act of stability when in his presence after such a long time of her not being there. With a final nod, she followed him off the roof silently, all the way down to the lobby where most of her colleagues had seemed to congregrate. Tetsu-Taicho's scolding of Suzume had reached her ears as well but she was more than grateful that Lee-chan had taken to dealing with the matter. Despite all that she had been through in the past two years, the Captain still felt like a child in a rubber boots two sizes too big and raincoat of the same description whilst holding an umbrella as her only protection from the rain. She was not in the mindset to deal with in-house drama at that exact minute. So, with Lee's pardon, she stood there amongst everyone else in her slacks and too long yet wrapped up locks. It had crossed her mind that the two gentlemen might not be able to find the house again once on the outside of the barrier but that fear was soon displaced by Lee's reappearance in the lobby as well as his immediate questioning of Suzume-Fukutaicho's welfare. It was a bit too much: Seeing him like this and remembering those first few days of being his subordinate, the reasons that she loved him and knowing that there was a chance that he might not want her back. Eriko rubbed her reddening nose and sniffled quietly as the trio passed the necessary information of their conversations amongst themselves. She was not in the mood for this, either. Simply, the female plotted herself down at her feet and allowed the scene to unfold around and above her. She felt no need to be a part of it in any way whatsoever until it was time for them to leave for home. The sniffling had stopped and her nose was probably pink with all the worrying that she was giving it. That stopped, too.

When it became apparent that the population of the lobby and that general area would only be increasing, Eriko stood, brushed the bum of her pants and made her way back to the roof, not wanting to disturb Blake and ERIS if they had taken to the morning as yet. She had been there for about two minutes before having Blake appear at her side out of nowhere basically. She heard her name in the first few words that he shared with her and accepted it as a greeting, nodding her response with a kind smile as opposed to his goofy one. However, her attention span shortened again and the only time that she looked up again at the pair's shenanigans was when ERIS made mention of delicious food and that it was all for her. Her stomache growled hungrily as the words were processed into feelings and thoughts about the actual act of having a balanced breakfast for once in a few months. She bowed to the spirit, thanked her enthusiastically and walked briskly away to assault the plate that was waiting ever so patiently for her in the oven. As everything else went on in the other parts of the house, whether inside or not, Eriko could have cared less as she placed herself at the table of the shared kitchen/dining room set for Blake-Taicho, ERIS and herself. As the Zanpakuto spirit had said, the meal was still warm to the touch which made it all the better. She needed this. Even if it was not comfort food of the sugary variety, it was fulfilling and nuturing in the same sense. The plate had been nearly empty when a shadow fell from her side of the apartment. As she saw it, this was something out of the ordinary since her roommates were still playing and there was no one else who would feel the need to come in here.

"It's a shame that you forget about me so quickly when you're feeling sorry for yourself." Cho leaned against the open passageway that led to her master's bedroom door and stared at the woman with an accusatory arch of her right eyebrow.

Eriko looked back at her for a few seconds before pulling out the chair for the young woman to sit. "I didn't forget. It's just that I'm nervous. I know that we've trained and trained and trained but what if after all of that..."

"You end up disappointing all of us, inclusive of yourself?" The Zanpakuto spirit moved away from the wall, a movement that showed that she had Eriko's sword and archery equipment in tow. She placed them on the floor before taking her master's right hand in both of hers. "You need to let go of this incessant fear. If it's not about fighting, it's about your romance life. Give your best and trust that that will be enough. We made a promise to be there for each other and I am not giving up on you so easily."

During these loving words, Eriko had managed to put in the last few spoons and forks of food in her mouth. While she chewed, the Taicho allowed this last heart-to-heart between Cho and her before the battle at home to sit in her gut with the rest of her food. It means something when your best friend has faith in you in spite of your own slipping hope. She licked her lips and planted a short kiss on one of the spirit's cheeks. "Thank you."

"No problem." The white-haired beauty was already fading. "You will make us proud. You will." With that, it was only Eriko left with her weapons at her feet and unclean dishes before her. It was while being at the sink that she felt the ominous, dark reiatsu of Yuki and subsequently, heard something like Hei raising his voice. Were they to leave already? Well, there was no use in putting it off any longer than was necessary. After one or two more washings and a quick swig of water from her marked bottle in the fridge, Eriko grabbed her Zanpakuto, bow and quiver full of arrows to her side before taking a step inside her room for her Jūbantai haori. It is hers - no one else's. No one else can say that they have exactly been where I have been and lived to tell the tale. I am Akiyama Eriko. With a final tug as it covered her gracefully, the woman picked up her equipment for another time and made her way down to the lobby or wherever it was that they were meeting before the departure. Thankfully, she made it on time for the beginning of Yuki's speech. Keeping her ears peeled to the importance of the coming words, Eriko draped her bow and quiver strap in one direction while crisscrossing it with Cho's strap. It still felt like wearing a bra on the outside of her clothes but she had not perfected the art of sending her bow and quiver away as yet. Yuki's speech hit all the areas of discussion that it needed to and she had nothing to add to it like seemingly everyone else within the vicinity. In fact, this was the first time for that morning that she could recall being aware of all the people around her and their behaviours. Unfortunately, this meant that her senses picked all too soon on Nu's proximity in relation to Eriko's Lee-chan as well as the other woman's offer of sake after the battle. The opitimistic note did not even graze her mind as she was reminded all too well of something else that had been bothering her for the past years or so. As the others made noises about her, she kept her eyes on the pair and moved her feet steathily with them as Lee, not Nu, opted for a place of more obvious privacy. It was beginning to ache again - that swelling in your chest that is sign that something must be done or you are not going to make it out alive. As he caressed Nu's cheek, Eriko wiped at her own wet eyes and then, for his kiss, she bit down on her own with the knowledge that he had made his choice. I am going to kill him. No, I cannot...not now, anyway. He should have told me. The idiot. The b*****d. My love. I hate him. Without waiting to be seen or for Nu's reaction, she takes to alternate manner of reaching the roof, where they would most likely take their long-awaited leave. I cannot believe this. She wanted to cry. Honestly, she did but there was an anger there that she could use to her advantage, to the advantage of Soul Society. I really hate him for this. Once the path was clear for her, the Jūbantai-Taicho made her way silently to the opening of the emergency Senakimon and with an assertive breath, she stepped through it - ready for the fights ahead.

Jūnibantai Fukutaichō

"Take care of your sister." First her father said it, then her mother did the same, so it was enough to drive Tsukiko crazy. She did not need to be reminded to care for her baby sister; she was experienced, responsible, and attentive to detail. Even though she was well aware it was their overprotective-ness talking, it was still irritating to hear it from the both of them, one after another after it had already been said once. Or twice. An hour. Every day. For the past week. How she put up with it was beyond her, though it likely had a great deal to do with the immense patience she had gained when confronted with Elisia's constant worry. That had to be a key factor somewhere, because it sure hadn't changed in the last two and a half years. Tsukiko winced when her mother's fingers went through her hair, then tucked it behind her ear; it was somewhat embarrassing to have her mother fix her up. For a leader of a military, she could be such a mom sometimes, she thought; the baby in her arms would serve to bring her to the obvious realization of her moment of stupidity. "No s**t idiot, did you figure that out on your own!?" Her inner-self acted upon this, and as her mother began to walk away, it began screaming at her until Yuki was gone. The monologue quickly died out as she heard others speaking to her, namely Lee and Nu, though she was only a target for the latter's statement by extension; simply because Nu was speaking of the baby in her arms.

After receiving her kiss and waving goodbye to Elisia, she no longer had a reason to stay on the roof. Other than Nanashi, who was no longer with them, everyone she interacted with in the Gotei 13 was already gone. Not to mention the mental state of her younger sister was reaching critical levels of ********, an attitude wholly evident by her general fidgeting and occasional shivering. A few minutes was a bit too long for the infant to stay outside, which was something she had considered; even Tsukiko's unnatural body heat didn't negate frigid breezes. After making her way back to the door, Tsukiko carried Senka carefully down the steps, taking her time as she was in no hurry. "Your stuff is all in mom's room, huh?" She said to Senka, who had calmed down at this point now that they had reached the significantly warmer third floor platform of the stairwell. Several minutes later, Tsukiko was sitting on her parent’s bed in her underwear, cuddling the infant in her lap as she sang her various songs in soft tones. She had discarded her other clothing as she felt no temperatures, and felt no need to have anything on at the moment. It was no mere impulse though, as she genuinely felt no need to wear anything if no one was going to be around. Tsukiko discovered several minutes later that she would be sorely mistaken, but for now she simply kept half of her CPU watching Senka while the other half gazed out of the eyes of 11 captains, courtesy of her father's surveillance bacteria.

A little bit later, Senka had fallen asleep, and Tsukiko was able to carefully sit her next to her on the bed while she eased down beside her, staring at her baby sister while the captain's sights flashed through her head. Some seemed to be faring well while others had already taken hits, and the war had barely even started. This of course presented a double standard for the Shinigami; those who fared well now could be being played with and could end up getting beaten in the end. Then there were others, namely Hideki, who had taken a hit and could still be being toyed with, which was even worse. His opponent was Zenos, so she obviously did not think less of him for that reason. From what she recognized, he was already moving at supersonic speeds, which was strange considering he did not usually pull out trump cards early. The most notable event, however, was the sudden death of her sister-in-law, a sight that made Tsukiko exhale a sharp gasp, instantly feeling and sharing Elisia's pain. The screams she let out did not make it any worse; they only served to make Tsukiko feel helpless in this situation, though she did not blame Elisia or anyone for that matter. Tsukiko, for the duration of Elisia's plight, felt a deep emotional connection that stretched across worlds, like she was experiencing it at the same time as Elisia was. She knew of this phenomenon quite well actually, but its presence here made no sense; it was only found in identical twins. She would, however, learn why it had happened several minutes later. For now, however, Tsukiko could only watch on as Elisia experienced some sort of emotional shift, a disturbance in her personality it seemed, given the turn her brain patterns and such had taken, all of which were monitored by Tsukiko. After a moment or two of confusion mixed in with trying to figure it out, she spotted him sitting on a lounge chair out of the corner of her eye, having gone unnoticed until now. "Yo."

Fidgeting in his seat, the seemingly three-year-old Exaequare lowered his hand after he had mock-saluted Tsukiko and gave her his greetings. She had finally noticed him sitting there, even though he had been present for several minutes, having been well aware of what Elisia would be gong through some year in advance. He had been the one to remotely connect Tsukiko to Elisia's brain for that moment, allowing her to understand it further. The smiling child let out a chuckle and waved his hand in dismissal when Tsukiko hurriedly gathered the covers to obscure her lady parts from his sight. "Now now, I know well what you look like, it's rather difficult to control what I see when I probe your mind. And honestly, I have no interest in your body." His words did not manage to put her at ease, but he did refrain from bringing it up again as he had no desire to make her lower it, only the desire to remind her that she needn't bother doing so. "But still..." Turning red, the gynoid retreated under the covers, making sure Senka was still comfortable on the bed. The infant was soundly sleeping and had not moved since she had fallen asleep.

"Cute kid." Tilting his head, the child remotely unlocked the cabinet in which Hei kept medicine, and then opened the door to retrieve and age pill, which quickly zoomed into the room and came to a halt in front of him, and then dropped into his palm. Aurelius popped the pill in his mouth and swallowed it, submitting to the effects instantly, which was him growing quite older, putting him at about 23 years of age. As he did so, she studied him, curious as to why he would even be here. From experience, he never showed up unless something important was going on, of course this would explain what was happening with Elisia. "You..." Her mouth fell open, but only one word came out as the female stumbled over what she was trying to say, coming up with nothing. Aurelius, however, took the conversation in the direction he knew it was going eventually; his reason for being there. "Have come to offer assistance."

Blinking, Tsukiko looked momentarily taken aback as if what he had just stated was unbelievable, still, she managed to speak after a moment of silence. "You... connected us, and then... you came here..." Pausing, she looked into the shaggy-haired adult's face, and then let her own expression grown stern, having remembered that she had a certain sovereignty over him ever since she freed him. "Aurelius, you will go to the Soul Society, and you will aid my wife, as well as my colleagues. As your mistress, I order this." Still clutching the blanket to her chest, she watched as Aurelius tossed back his head and let out raucous laughter. He continued to do so, finding her statement most amusing, and slowly stood from his chair before stopping abruptly and whisking his hand over his chest, falling low into a respectful bow. "As you wish, mistress." With this, the Exaequare shimmered like a mirage and exited the Human World completely.

After squeezing himself through the membrane that separated the two dimensions, Aurelius arrived in the Human World, somewhere in Europe as he had not plotted an arrival point. After he reduced his body size, he allowed himself to become visible, and after taking in his surroundings, he took in a breath and then closed his lips. The second his lips touched each other, time stopped all around him, people and objects frozen in place and motionless. Aurelius blinked and turned away, and while he held his breath, time remained at a standstill. He then bent reality, folding it like a paper fan so he could cross miles in a single step and arrived in the general area of the Shinigami's apartment complex. Even though reality returned to normal as he stepped away, time remained frozen, and did not start up again until he reached the apartment's front door. As soon as he exhaled upon reaching the door, everything around him began to move once more, and he slipped inside, then moved up to where he had left Tsukiko, then phased straight through the door to the apartment, letting himself in. "I see you are at peace again, now that Elisia is fine. I've done what I was meant to do today, most of it anyway." He motioned towards Senka as he approached the bedroom she occupied. "Sending me wasn't enough, we both know it. So, in the interest of getting straight to the point; give me the child, and go to her, go to everyone." Extending his hand towards Tsukiko, he then moved to reassure her, knowing well she'd be hesitant. "Don't worry." He began, allowing the star pattern to flash across his eyes. "I know everything about babies."

After Aurelius had left the apartment, Tsukiko could do little more than lay beside Senka and watch her while she watched the war. As time passed, it appeared that Elisia's issue was resolved, much to her relief. As the war raged on, Tsukiko played the part of the observer, watching as members of each side were cut down. Kazuma's death marked the first win for their side, and while it was certainly a good thing, it was unnerving that this was taking so long. Chewing her bottom lip, Tsukiko rubbed Senka's back while she watched Ori's attempted assault on her mother and father, who did that creepy combination thing they did. Lovers or no, it was like he was wearing her and it was weird. After cringing at that, she saw Aurelius briefly through Hei's eyes and then he was gone, only to suddenly speak to her some few seconds later.

She jolted, being terribly startled by him, and flipped over to see him standing there, reaching out to him for Senka while asking for her. She looked at him, and then at Senka; she was hesitant and had good reason to be. However, he showed her the star pattern, which made her realize he was right; he did know everything, and was probably better at it that she was. With a sigh of defeat, Tsukiko sat up and rolled out of bed, then ducked into the closet to change her clothes. After she came out, she jabbed her finger towards Senka. "If anything happens to her, well, I'm sure you already know." With this, she kissed the girl on the head, whisked herself outside and disappeared into the Senkaimon on the roof.
