*scratches head* Well, I might make some allowance for Static-X, since they have a lot of industrial elements in their sound, and "Shadow Zone" was actually a halfway decent album, but I maintain that nu-metal is still a part of their sound in terms of instrumentation. As for Slipknot, I'm not so sure. To me, a big part of the nu-metal sound is some element of rap, which is clearly present in crap like Korn or Disturbed. Slipknot is ambiguous there. Regardless of what they sound like, none of these bands registers positively in my ears.

Boy am I ashamed of myself. Turns out I went through that stupid pre-teen phase myself.
Though I do assert that what I was saying back then was in fact correct, I was doing a horrible job at proving it.

Yeah. They're not bad as far as nu-metal goes though. Hell, their last two albums have been fairly decent. I couldn't just sit and listen to them all day but... they've definitely improved. There's no more rap bullshit and they actually figured out how to write songs.
