Odessa shook her head vigerously and wrote again in the sand, quickly jotting down the translation for how are and drawing an arrow to it. "Ca va" -----> "How are you?" After pointing to it, she backed up to make more room for writing; flattening the suface in front of them with her dainty paws. "Voulez-vous" -----> "Would you like....?" Looking back as if to see that the girl understood, she saw the flick of a tail as it rounded the corner and realized she hadn't even heard Karis speak to her. With a small shrug of her shoulders, she waited for her student to come back, blinking and looking at her awkwardly as a chest was drug out as well. "Ah," she said quickly, nodding as she explained and looking curiously over at the book as she spoke of it. "Should...... But I can help....." Even the basic guides usually had some holes in their teachings, but Odessa was happy to correct them; pronounciation was an easy task if you knew how to do it right. "Bonjour, ou salut pour les petits bebes."

Karis looked at her... and nodded as she looked up the words as Odessa said them.."So Bonjour means hello. and ou salut pour les petits bebes means for the little kids. But what i dont get wouldnt it mean for the little babies because of the word bebes?" She looked down and got out her notebook and wrote down Ca va and voulez-vous..."And you did say Ca Va means how are you? and Voulez-vous means, would you like? Just double checking to see if that is what i heard was correct.

Odessa allowed a gentle nod as a brief but beautiful smile overtook her face, eyes glittering as Karis spoke; amazed that her teachings were working, and actually doing some good for someone else. "Oui, oui, mais il est pour différentes choses. Un bebe est un petit enfant aussi." She moved to write something in the sand, but realized that there was no more room to write what she needed to say. Holding up her paws, she made the motion of writing and pointed to the chest, trying to ask her if she could borrow a pencil and paper in order to get her meaning across. Nodding curtly, she tried to erase the words in the sand by wiping them away, and wrote very small beneath it "french words often have different meanings."
((Yes, yes, but it is for different things. A baby is a little child also.))

Karis handed some paper over and a pencil. She watched her write in the sand and tried to remember what Odessa had said before writing in the sand. She wrote down oui for yes. "So they have different meanings relying on the same thing?" She looked in her book for other things and then glanced at the sky. " Oh dear it's getting late. I want to show you something. Come on!" She rushed towards the door waiting for Odessa.

Odessa took both objects from Karis with another of her traditional half-smiles; trying to show with her eyes what her naturally expressionless face could not. Shifting her gaze, she read over what the other vixen had written, nodding gently before her head slowly rose to look at her nervously. "Wha....?" She asked softly, stretching her legs out behind her as she rose from her sitting position; hesitating before picking up the writing material in her mouth. Trotting slowly, gently upon the sand, she moved towards the door and into the cool atmosphere where darkness was starting to overtake the land. Keeping her eyes on Karis, she searched for some sort of guidance, afraid the sea would call her away before she got to see what was exciting this girl.

Karis smiled at Odessa, she led her through a wooded covered area and a small trail. The trail was covered with sand and had some paper lights lightening the way. She led her to the cliff called, look out point. She sat down. From that cliff you could see her sand home to the left of where she sat. If you looked straight ahead. You could see a view like this. She smiled as the breeze went through her hair. She looked back, "Odessa hurry its almost time."

It had been a long time since Odessa had actually taken the time to watch a sunset as it sparkled over her beloved ocean, so as the sides of her mouth twitched upwards into a wide smile, her eyes glittered with fascination. Looking back a moment at all the decorations along the path, she wondered how long it had taken Karis to create herself a world like this, and for a moment, she admired the young vixen. Stepping lightly, she neared the edge of the cliff and set herself gently beside her "student"; tail curling around herself as the wind swirled nearby and made her seashells clack against each other in an ear-pleasing manner. Her eyes closing for just a moment, she let her nose take in the scent of the water and her mouth slowly savor the salty taste before she took it all in. "So long...... Gorgeous....." She muttered, her paw reaching out as though it could touch the pastel rainbow in the sky.

Karis smiled as Odessa sat beside her. "Welcome to my special spot, only my true friends seen this." She paused. "Well you are my only friend" She frowned, "My only land friend. My other friends are sea creatures, like Squirt and Splash. Which they should be here any minute." She paused and looked into the ocean. Out in the distance there was two splashing Dolphins making their way to Karis and Odessa. She stood up. "Come on Odessa, I would like you to meet them." She went down on the made path that would lead them to Squirt and Splash.

Odessa looked back to Karis, her smile fading slightly as she searched her eyes for sorrow and other feelings beyond what her expression showed. "Alone....?" She said gently, setting her paw on top of the other's with a certain sense of understanding, her natural aura creating a calming effect in the atmosphere. Ear flicking, she glanced back towards the water, following Karis' gaze and watching the dolphins as they jumped the waves and made high-pitched squeals to communicate with each other. Removing her paw, she got up slowly again, picking up the pen and paper that she had already set at her feet, sauntering lazily after the young vixen; her body tiring from wandering aimlessly as she had so often lately. As they walked, Odessa tried to figure out why, of all the people out there, this girl had only made friends with her. She was quiet and reserved, while this girl seemed full of energy and even fun to be with, so how did she have so few acquaintances....? It didn't make sense to her, but she was glad to have found someone who at least shared her interests, and didn't try to pull the wool over her eyes.

Karis smiled as the two dolphins made their way to them at the coast. Her smile and her voice was softspoken. She looked at Odessa, "Thanks for being my friend." She gave a light smile and turned back to the dolphins. "This is Scout and his mother Splasha. I call her splash. They are faithful to me because i saved scout from hunters. They wanted his fat and that day i was swimming and i seen it and i cut the net and told him to swim far away. His mother was about 10 yards away from him when it was happening. He was very happy that i resuced him. If only you could have seen the way he looked at me, the sad, the everything that shouldnt be. So after that i swam back here. And this is were him and his mom always meet me. Once in the morning and once in the evening." She smiles as she pets them. She jumps into the water and holds onto scout. "Hop in Odessa and grab on to Splash."

Odessa blinked and let the edge of her mouth twitch upward for a moment as she sauntered down the hill towards the water, staying silent while she listened to Karis' story; ear flicking back towards her head as each wave broke the shoreline. "Very kind....." She nodded, part of her jealous of this girl's relationship to the sea, and wondering how, in all her time here, she had never gotten a chance to really care of this place. "The appreciation....." She whispered, looking down at the dolphins with a glint of excitement in her eyes as she reached down to pet one gently with her paw. Blinking as she was splashed with water, she went a bit pale and shook her head; both scared and happy at the same time. "Oh no..... Je ne peut pas..... J'ai peur!" She managed to squeak, stepping closer despite her words and running her paw daintily along the mother's back, pausing to dip her front leg into the water with a small shiver. "Je ne sais pas...."

Karis looked at her. "Yes the water is cold, but you need to get in for it to warm up." She said as she spashed up and down. "Odessa, Im not going to trick you and splash is really gentle. We always go for a ride in the dusk hour. Come on and join us." She smiled gently as she looked up at Odessa. Her eye glittered in the sunlight.

Odessa let her eyes glance slowly over Karis' face, taking note of the expression and smiling gently as her eyes began to soften. The light had a beautiful way of reflecting in her student's eyes.... Blushing softly, she shook her head and let the thoughts fade away, knowing that she could never let their bond grow to more; all she wanted was to be a friend and a teacher to this young girl. Karis could never understand the things in her past, she was much too young at heart, and it would complicate everything if she were to give her love away. "Oui.... Il est beau.... Et gentil...." Slowly letting her body slip into the water, she shivered again and swam gently over top of the small dolphin; letting her toes wiggle as she got used to the water. "Water..... J'adore beaucoup~ La lune est belle se soir!" Looking up at the sky, she let her paws grab tightly to Splash, letting herself warm up against his body. "Ready...."

Karis smiled as she worked her way into the water. "Yes the moon is beautiful. What does J'adore beaucoup mean?" She petted Scout. "Scout, Splash, to the hidden cove!" Splash and Scout swam towards the cove. The water raced through Karis's fur. "Mmm i can smell rain soon." In the middle of the ocean is not someone she liked to be when a storm is brewing. "double time guys and hurry!"

Odessa let a gentle smile caress her cheeks as she looked down slowly, eyes still dazzling with the beauty of the moon. Blinking a few times, she glanced around as if trying to find something in the water, and wondering how she was going to explain the meaning without a notebook. When the dolphin jerked underneath her, the small vixen squeaked and grabbed tightly onto the animal before she was able to fall off into the water. Eyes growing side for a moment, she began to blush and let herself sink deeper into the ocean as if to hide her embarrassment.
Watching Karis' expression, she began to settle down a bit and wiggle her body slowly as if to truly feel the water rushing across the surface of her skin. "Rain....?" She asked softly, looking towards the darker clouds gathering on the horizon as she pulled herself into Splash; keeping close as the dolphins sped up. "J'adore beaucoup...." She said softly, trying to keep her mind off the storm and the memories that were still so vibrant after many years. "Love lots....." Odessa could almost hear the screeching in her head, the voice of her sister as the storm carried the young vixen out to sea.... It was a terrible memory.
