Though it isn't central or present in all of her books, I'm sure we've all enjoyed the element of romance that Pierce has placed in her novels.
Who here thinks that Varice Kingsford, the ex-lover introduced in Emperor Mage, will have a significant role in Numair's new books?

I meant the conflict between them. I wonder what caused the rift between them and what set Orzone down the wrong path, if he was ever on the good path to begin with, that is...

It's funny... I remember back in like... 2001 finding stuff on the Numair book and freaking out (I remember I was using one of those computers they would set up in Supermarkets for awhile- that you could log on and check stuff on. I discovered her site and I think I freaked). The fact that she's kept up with the idea continued to make me eager until about a year or two ago... It's not that I no longer want them. I do. But there's something to be said about leaving it open ended...
Not to mention much of what I love so much about Numair is seeing him and Daine change from Wild Magic to Realms... I'm looking forward to seeing him in his player stages, but at the same time I'm nervous.
For example: we know he almost marry's Varice... and I have a strong speculation either I'm going to love or hate Varice by the end-- so either I'll be annoyed with her most of the book or grow to like her- and thus Emperor Mage has the possibility of losing something.
Sometimes it's nice to have ambiguity.
That being said... I'm still looking forward to them- but it's something to think about, and thus out of the books I have to say I'm most looking forward to Mastiff. ^^ Primarily because there's something awesome about returning to George's roots- and while I'm not really a 1st person lover myself- I have been liking the books, and I feel the writing has been returning more to her earlier period- which honestly I find far more enjoyable than Trickster or the Protector Series.

Numair!! YAY! I think i'm looking forward to those most. The Maura books should also be interesting.
I'd love to see her write one about Eleni Cooper
