I've wanted to learn how to knit for forever! Alas, the time alloted to me for such a task is limited. I've become quite good at sewing over this past semester (yay for a costume class haha) and I'm really excited to practice more.
While I've only made costumes so far I'm looking into making pencil skirts for me to wear to some of my "business casual classes." If anyone has any patterns or fabric ideas I'd appreciate it!

How about these? Pencil skirt 1high-waisted pencil skirtpencil skirt tutorialAs for fabrics... a light-weight wool would probably be the best, in my opinion, or satin nice, too. I really like croqueting. It's easier than knitting, in my opinion. In fact, I just made a hat! It looks really cool.

Firekat Archer I really like croqueting. It's easier than knitting, in my opinion. In fact, I just made a hat! It looks really cool. Is it? I only know how to knit redface Been thinking about trying that out.

I can't sew. Last time i tried I wound up sewing myself to the pillow i was making. Stupid sewing machine.

I love sewing, and knitting. ^_^ I don't make alot of stuff knitting, but i know how to make scarves, so that has been what my friends and family have gotten for the past few years. I just need to get a machine so i can sew more stuff.

Over the course of this semester (my unforeseen hiatus) I learned how to crochet. I started off rather poorly, being self-taught and whatnot. However, with assistance from my roommate (crocheter extraordinaire) I have made a scarf, a beret, a tissue box cover, one shoe, driving gloves, a case for my crochet hooks and a bag. I find the craft to be relaxing and quite fun.
