The Crimson Walls
A door at the south end of the meeting room leads off down a long series of winding hallways. eventually, if you follow the path down it's center, the rush of water can be heard as the passageway opens up to reveal an incredibly large cavern. The ground is composed of slick rock and cratered holes from previous training sessions, and the walls are lined with small waterfalls, which supply a constant flow of water into the pools that form and empty out into the deeper parts of the mountain. There is no training equipment present... it is assumed that the cavern is simply used to have a place to let jutsu free, without fear of destroying or caving in any kind of structure that would collapse the base.

Atsureki Hyuuga Eyes of the Crimson Dawn Taijutsu || Hyuuga || Gentle Fist || Akatsuki || Chuunin
Chakra: 40|| Stamina: 40|| Status: Healthy || Byakugan: Inactive "The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu..."One-hundred ninety-seven, one-hundred ninety-eight, one-hundred ninety-nine...", the words rang out in the great cavern, the words echoing off of the caverns walls. Lowering himself to the ground, Atsureki's breathing was heavy as sweat beaded on his nose to drip into small puddle forming below his face. His well toned torso glistened with sweat as he held himself just inches from the ground, holding a push-up position. Taking a deep breath, Atsureki pushed himself up one final time, his arms straining to lift his body up again as he said in a strained tone, "two...hundred." Rolling onto his back, Atsureki's breathing was labored as he stared into the shadows of the cavern's ceiling. ( Endurance training 1/50 )
Lifting himself up onto his elbows, Atsureki turned his stark-white gaze on the pile of clothes he had brought with him, an open scroll sitting atop it. Rising into a sitting position, the young hyuuga crossed his legs as he picked up the scroll once again, hoping that if he read it once again he might be able to learn something. Even as he poured over the document for the dozenth time since he had found it in the records room though, Atsureki knew that there was nothing to find. The only documentation the Akatsuki had on the bijuu, and still most of it was mere speculation. Throwing the scroll aside, Atsureki cried out in frustration "how am I to learn anything about them when I do nothing but train in this damn cave! When am I going to be allowed to leave this place!"Gripping a fist full of his jet black hair, Atsureki closed his eyes and gnashed his teeth. For two years he had been training in this cave, waiting for his opportunity to seek out the jinchuuriki, and still Sai hadn't so much as allowed him to tag along. Taking a deep breath, Atsureki let his hands fall into his lap before letting out a deep sigh. Sitting there for a long moment, he simply stared at his hands, studying the callouses that had formed from long hours spent striking the training dummy Sai had acquired for him to practice juken, a training tool designed by members of his clan for that specific purpose. He was ready, he was sure of it, but how could he convince his master.
Rising to his feet, Atsureki moved to the small river which ran through the cavern, washing his face free of the sweat from his training before splashing some water onto his chest and back. He would have to speak with Sai, perhaps he would let him go on an assignment with a partner, Zenko, or Haruko. Walking over to his clothes, Atsureki shrugged into his black kimono, unconcerned with drying himself off, and wrapped a red cord around his hair in a pony-tail. He could continue his training later, but for now he needed to get something to eat, and with any luck he would be able to speak with Sai. Walking out of the cavern, Atsureki glanced over his shoulder at the scroll he had tossed aside, before sniffing contemptuously and continuing on his way.... I intend to help them remember." Atsureki Hyuuga Eyes of the Crimson Dawn Taijutsu || Hyuuga || Gentle Fist || Akatsuki || Chuunin
Chakra: 40|| Stamina: 40|| Status: Healthy || Byakugan: Inactive "The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu...Pale eyes staring straight ahead, clenched fists hidden by his sleeves, Atsureki stalked into the dimly lit cavern, long black pony-tail drifting in his wake. Feeling something brush against the toe of his kung-fu style shoes, Atsureki stopped to look down at the nearly blank scroll of bijuu information. For a long moment, Atsureki just stood there, staring silently at the scroll, a stoic expression on his face, and then with a shout, Atsureki kicked the scroll across the ground to land in the small pool collecting at the base of the cave's waterfall. Untying the sash which held his kimono around his waist, Atsureki moved with the stiff and jerky movements of the thoroughly angry as he shrugged out of his kimono before tossing it aside, not bothering to properly fold his clothes as he usually would.
Turning to his right, Atsureki's face was contorted in rage as he moved towards one of the special training dummies that Sai had been able to create for him, a dummy specifically created so that he could perfect his Juken. Slamming his hand onto the dummy's "forehead", Atsureki lifted his free hand to his chest and lifted two fingers towards the ceiling as poured a small amount of chakra into the dummy. Taking a few steps back, Atsureki barked, "Byakugan!", causing the veins around his eyes to bulge as his nearly white iris expanded, making it appear as a ring in his eyes. As his perception of the world changed to see in the chakra spectrum, the dummy suddenly lit up like a christmas tree, to him at least, an exact replica of his own chakra circulatory system now visible on the doll.
Falling into the First Trigram, Atsureki squared off against the dummy as he took a deep breath to calm himself in preparation for the precision and speed that is always necessary when performing the higher levels of Juken. Exhaling, Atsureki dashed forward, fingers suddenly lashing out to strike at the two Tenketsu located on either side of the neck. As soon as his fingers hit, Atsureki pumped a thin thread of chakra through his fingers to strike at the chakra point itself before immediately pulling back and rotating his body on his back foot, avoiding from an imaginary blow. Rather than simply stopping, Atsureki continued the rotation and lowered his body as he tucked both hands close to his torso. As he came back around to face the dummy, Atsureki's hands shot forward, index fingers outstretched, to strike at the Tenketsu located on the hip and the armpit.
Sweeping his right hand in front of himself, followed quickly by the left, Atsureki knocked away another imagined attack before turning on the ball of his forward foot, rotating himself to face the dummy's back. As he came out of his spin, Atsureki fell once again into the First Trigram, pulling back his right palm as he focused chakra into his palm. "Eight Trigrams Empty Palm!", Atsureki cried as he pumped forward with his palm, striking the dummy square in the back to send it flying several feet away to skitter along the ground before finally coming to halt. Letting himself relax, Atsureki just stood there staring at the now ruined dummy as the replicated Tenketsu began to fade away. It was certainly annoying that he had finally broken the thing, but he could always make another, assuming Sai didn't already have another lying around somewhere. "So now what?", Atsureki asked the silence which was quickly filling the cavern as his pale eyes returned to normal.... I intend to help them remember."

Konaga Sai| Konaga Clan | Akatsuki | Jounin | RPC Profile | Walking through the winding dark halls of the Akatsuki base, Sai's steps were light, but still produced small echoes within the corridors until he finally came out into the large meeting room. Turning to the side, he looked at the meeting table, finding it hard to remember the last time all 10 chairs were filled. If he had enough people, the task at hand might not be so difficult, but as it was, shinobi of his brand were not so easy to find. As it was, Sai had to rely on training up others for the time being to bring them to a level where they could properly fulfill their roles and help achieve the final goals of the Akatsuki organization.
In one way or another, everyone associated with Sai's plans would benefit from it. Sai would see his vision of a truly just society and have his revenge where the corrupt finally received their due pain for the pain they caused others. Atsureki would see the evils of the Bijuu contained and enslaved like pets only to be used as a way to keep the rule of law alive. Zenko would gain the freedom to do as she pleased, whatever that may entail. Either way, their goals were one in the same at the moment, but the timing for them to seize their goals had to be carefully considered. As such, Sai had to temper them into the great weapons they would be for his cause. Atsureki's youth was an obstacle however and his impatience a fault he would have to learn to control. Impatience leads to Impulse, Impulse ledas to Foolhardy Action, and Foolhardy Actions lead to Death. The words rang clear in Sai's mind as part of his Hunter-nin training... a part of the puzzle he never had trouble understanding.
Turning the corner to the hallway leading to the training grounds, Sai could already hear the sounds of water mingled with Atsureki's practice strikes against the dummies. Continuing down the humid corridor, Sai placed his hand on his Shadow Blade and moved into the Shadows seamlessly via Shadow Step, his image fading into darkness before disappearing into the shadows. Whether or not his student would see him, he didn't know, but it would be an interesting test to the child's reactions. Finding shadows in the large cavern was not difficult as over half of the arena was drenched in shadow in the first place. As Atsureki was near the center of the cave, Sai moved to the edge of the shadows and gauged the young man for a second before he started forming several hand seals with one hand.
Immediately after he was finished an image suddenly erupted from the shadows, it's form featureless and dark, bearing only the mere shape of Sai's own body as it rushed towards the young Chuunin-level shinobi. It's dark hand falling down to it's side, a blade of pure shadow about one foot long grew outward from it's grip as it quickly pivoted to the side, aiming to swipe the shadowy blade across Atsureki's back.
"You can never know my pain..."
[Techniques Used: Shadow Step, Shadow Image]
Shadow Step - When the blade rests in it's scabbard, and the ninja is holding the hilt of the Shadow Blade, the user is able to merge with the shadows and disappear to the naked eye. Upon activating the ability, the user's image fades and blurs into darkness as they seem to be drawn into the shadows around them and disappear. However, though they are invisible to the eye and indistinguishable from the shadows themselves, they are still physically present within the shadows and therefore can still be injured or attacked within them. This technique can be initiated at any time, even when in combat, or when someone is looking directly at the user. A Doujutsu such as the Byakugan or Sharingan however, if activated, will be able to detect the user's exact location. The same is true of the Inazuka clan's ability to sniff out an opponent's presence within the shadow.
Shadow Image - Being well attuned to the shadows, especially those currently around them, the Shadowplay student is capable of projecting their chakra through the shadows, generating shadow images of themselves which run forward toward an opponent and attempt to slash them in a run-by maneuver with a shadow-based replica of the Shadow Blade. If the Shadow Images manage to slice the opponent, it leaves a Shadow Wound, a dark purple scar with shadowy black edges in the area struck. This causes no true damage, but creates extreme pain for several minutes and a burning sensation which continues afterward for two days. The wound cannot be healed, and the victim has a tendency to suffer from nightmares while such wounds are still present.

Atsureki Hyuuga Eyes of the Crimson Dawn Taijutsu || Hyuuga || Gentle Fist || Akatsuki || Chuunin
Chakra: 40|| Stamina: 40|| Status: Healthy || Byakugan: Inactive "The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu...As the shadowy form rushed towards Atsureki, the young man inhaled deeply as he stepped forward while twisting his body, placing his right hand behind his back while his left arm reached towards his right. "Eight Trigrams: Palm Rotation", Atsureki said, his voice finally reaching the calm that he had been unable to attain before, just as the shadow image began to swing it's blade. As the shadowy blade hit the barrier of chakra which surrounded Atsureki, the emerald green energy becoming momentarily visible as the the two chakra's clashed, he spun his body to the left, forming a sphere of whirling chakra around his body which immediately caught up the shadow image to send it flying harmlessly away.
Ceasing his rotation after the threat had been dealt with, Atsureki's hair continued to spin for a moment, landing lightly to drape over his shoulder as he stared straight at Sai, the veins around his eyes bulging once again. "Sai-Sensei, you should know by now that I could spot you out of a sea of others, nobody else in all the world could have that same raging chakra, even Zenko's is dwarfed by it. Nothing can hide from these eyes of mine", Atsureki still managed to keep his calm tone as he spoke to Sai, strange considering the man had just attacked him. But this was the sort of behavior Atsureki had come to expect from his master, it was this same behavior which had forced him to become aware of his surroundings at all times.... I intend to help them remember."

Konaga Sai| Konaga Clan | Akatsuki | Jounin | RPC Profile | (Accompanying roll for this post... [Here]) With his student easily passing his small test, Sai emerged from the shadows, the black outlines which concealed him peeling off of him as if blown away by a stiff wind as he stepped into the light and met his student's eyes. The boy seemed calmer now, but the words he spoke still carried a strange tone of arrogance to them... a common trait among those who were both young and highly skilled. Placing his right hand in his pocket, Sai's stance relaxed and he then calmly responded, "So you would consider yourself ready then? You were able to detect me, a man whose chakra is so distinctly visible and strong that you could spot me without trying, hiding within a shadow which would barely fool even a Sensor ninja."
Sai allowed the sarcasm in his words to cut deep as he hoped they would. He had no issues with Atsureki's confidence as it was a strong ally for one to have, but overconfidence would lead to the death of a student he had invested much time and effort into training. Sai was not built for stealth and even using the Shadow Blade's abilities, he would just barely be able to hide himself. There would be many others more skilled in Stealth then himself that Atsureki would have to be ready to combat. Before Atsureki had a chance to answer however, Sai quickly interjected, "You have great ability Atsureki. Not everyone would be able to so quickly deflect a high level Kenjutsu unscathed. However, you must temper your thoughts and rid yourself of this over-confidence. I did not find you in the desert and raise you in this cave so that you could be killed thinking that you can perceive and deal with any threat that comes at you and yet fail."
"To say that nothing can hide from your eyes is foolish over-confidence and it will get you killed if you are not careful. The day you assume that the stranger next to you is not stronger then you is the day that stranger kills you." This was not a lesson of paranoia, but one of fact. People often considered themselves to be the pinnacle of the world as they go about their lives, never willing to admit that they are a small grain of sand on a shore with thousands of other grains around them, all of which are superior in some way. In Sai's own life, many people had died simply thinking that he was no threat even as he was a young child living the life of a stray. Sai hoped that Atsureki would understand the meaning of his words, but in typical fashion rather then using his story to help the young boy understand, he kept his past shrouded in mystery and simply turned on his heel once again and began to walk away.
Sai was not one to reveal part of himself to help others learn from his life experiences, mostly due to the fact that he saw himself as so unique that it could not possibly help anyone else understand themselves, but also due to the fact that he simply wished not to. Sai preferred to allow others to form their own opinions and thoughts on life, all he would ever do is make a comment here or there if he felt it was needed. After he took a few steps, Sai's voice raised up again just loud enough for Atsureki to hear him as again, Sai did not bother to turn around to address him. "Make sure you rest and recover your full strength tonight. We leave in the morning." With that, Sai continued on, leaping up about 10 feet into the corridor towards the meeting room effortlessly as the echoes of his footsteps resounded off the walls and he disappeared into the shadows once again.

Atsureki Hyuuga Eyes of the Crimson Dawn Sensor || Hyuuga || Taijutsu || Akatsuki || Tactical Shibobi
Chakra: 40|| Stamina: 40|| Status: Healthy || Byakugan: Inactive "The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu...Listening to his master's words, Atsureki held his retort in check, trying to realize the wisdom in them, something he was beginning to find increasingly difficult when dealing with Konaga Sai. He knew that seeing his master was not so difficult as finding someone else, but at the same time, Atsureki had not been lax in training his eyes as well as his body. As his master's half-compliment reached his ears, Atsureki held back a smile. Even if the compliment was only intended to lead into another lecture, Atsureki would take it. As Sai ceased to speak, Atsureki bowed to the man as he said in as humble a tone as the proud hyuuga could manage, "As usual, there is much wisdom in your words, Sensei, I will reflect upon them in my training."As Sai turned to leave, Atsureki rose from his bow and began to head towards the waterfall to sit beneath the flow of water, when Sai spoke once again. Stopping in his tracks at his master's words, Atsureki's eyes grew wide as he looked over his shoulder at the man. As Sai leaped out of the room, Atsureki smiled in truth, a broad grin threatening to tear his face in half. Finally he would get to begin his mission, finally he would be able to seek out the bijuu. Continuing towards the waterfall, there seemed to be a lightness to Atsureki's steps, not something one would notice the absence of, but certainly noticeable now. Walking behind the cascading water, Atsureki held his left hand out to the side, making patterns in the wall of rushing water as he moved his fingers about.
Stopping at the center of the falls, Atsureki stepped directly under them, a shiver passing down his spine as the cold water beat down on him. Lowering his body and crossing his legs beneath himself, Atsureki lifted his hands in front of his chest, making a ram hand-seal as he focused his vision to see further into the chakra forest surrounding them. As his eyes scanned through the dense fog of chakra which constantly shrouded the forest, Atsureki attempted as usual to spot at least five animals, no easy task considering how little chakra even the great beasts of the chakra forest had. Shooting his vision out towards the north, Atsureki scanned for any sign of motion, even the tiniest fluctuation was a clue to finding a target, and indeed it was usually the only clue.
After nearly an hour, Atsureki had managed to find only three of the forests many inhabitants, and a scowl had already begun to spread over the young hyuuga's face. This was perhaps his most humbling exercises, as even after all this time he still only rarely managed to find five different animals. But one day I will be able to say in truth that nothing can hide from my eyes..., Atsureki thought to himself as he began to rise to his feet. Stretching his arms and legs, Atsureki finally let his eyes return to normal, his vision returning once again to perceive the light spectrum."And now I just need to swim a few laps before I get ready to leave."... I intend to help them remember."

Atsureki Hyuuga Eyes of the Crimson Dawn Sensor || Hyuuga || Taijutsu || Akatsuki || Tactical Shibobi
Chakra: 40|| Stamina: 40|| Status: Healthy || Byakugan: Inactive "The world has forgotten the evil of the Bijuu...Leaping forward, Atsureki dove into the water head first before coming up on the opposite side of the pool. Taking a breath, Atsureki began to swim around the edge of the circular pool, lifting his head up to take a breath with every other stroke of his arms. He would need to swim at least twenty laps before he could complete his training for the day and go rest, and he would be glad for the rest indeed by the time he was finished. So far though the going was easy, his arms and legs easily propelling him through the cool water, the question was, could he keep it up. [Endurance Training: 2/50]
Five laps later, and Atsureki was beginning to feel his muscles straining, his pace was becoming slower and he could already feel his muscles beginning to ache. But of course stopping was simply not an option, not so soon, not if he wanted to be able to look Sai in the eye. Ignoring the burn as best he could, Atsureki continued on, focusing on nothing more than keeping up his pace and keeping track of which lap he was on. As he came up on lap nine, Atsureki could feel a second-wind coming on, and began to quicken his pace. 10, half-way there, just keep on going Atsureki, if you've made it this far then ten more laps should be easy. [3/50]
Sixteen laps in, and Atsureki struggled to keep himself afloat. His arms and legs felt like jelly, and each gulp of air came in a labored gasp, but still the proud young hyuuga continued on, his mind focused entirely on completing the task at hand. Just keep moving, if you can't swim twenty laps in a pool, how can you ever expect to last long enough in a fight to even be of use, Atsureki snarled at himself, as he forced his arms and legs to keep moving. As Atsureki began his final lap however, a sudden jarring pain ran up his leg, a muscle cramp, stopping him dead in the water. Attempting to swim through the pain, Atsureki grimaced as he attempted to move his leg, but there was simply know way. Snarling, Atsureki ignored his legs, and began to pull himself through the water using only his arms, his face contorted in a mix of pain and defiance. [4/50]
"Twenty!", Atsureki all but screamed as he grabbed for the lip of the pool to pull himself out. Rolling onto his back, Atsureki just lay there for a good five-minutes as he waited to catch is breath. Pulling his leg towards his chest, Atsureki began to gently massage at the cramped area, trying to work out his knotted muscles as best he could. After a few moment, Atsureki rose to his feet and began to collect his clothes, walking gingerly on his leg as he waited for the pain to cease. Shrugging into his kimono, Atsureki began his slow walk towards his room, thoughts of tomorrow's journey already filling his head. Finally he would be able to take action, and with any luck, they would learn where to find the jinchuuriki.... I intend to help them remember." [exit to crimson nights]
