How could Lemony Snicket not be Lemony Snicket?
Congratulations. You've succeeded in utterly confusing me. Not that that's hard to do.
Where did you get the idea of the Baudelaire parents killing Olaf's parents with the poison darts? In the Penultimate Peril, it defenitely hints to it. It's mentioned (by Snicket or by Olaf, can't remember) that the Baudelaire parents were carrying poison darts at a ball. And then at the end Olaf says his parents were killed by poison darts, so one can assume that it was them, although not necessarily. I think it has to do with the orphans finding out their parents were not completely good either. Actually, it was Kit Snicket who mentioned it to the Baudelaires and she said that she was the one giving the darts to them and that Esme was trying to interviene. Then, close to the of the book when they were opening the door, one of the passwords was "What killed Olaf's parents?" and Olaf couldn't spell it, so he got Klaus to type "Poison Darts" in. That made the orphans gasp, but I don't know if it was the Baudelare parents who killed Olaf's parents in the first place. I think you get to know more about Olaf's past in the next book. He may have been like the Baudelaires, struggling against the treacherous people, then giving in because he had lost all hope. It could mean anything. And I was joking about the "Lemony Snicket might not be Lemony Snicket" thing. But not about Jacques Snicket, you never know, it could be the case! ninja

Ok sorry to say this but if you didn't already know book 13 is the last book. How I know this is that
1. Everybook has 13 chapters
2. 13 is a "unlucky" number.
And what is going to happen because I havent been wrong before IS
They will turn onlaf good just like he turned klase's girlfriend, in the grim grotto, bad (cont remmeber her freaking name, Fiona i think it was), and she turned back good *hinted in book 12* And olaf was once good and the white faced woman turned good, so what I know will happen is that everyone that was and the bad part of the V.F.D break-up will turn good and they will whole and pure again. And as of the chilrens parents, they died, but justace strasue (sp) will prove to everyone that they are not muderers, and then become their final legal gardian.

Kidding. What I'm thinking is maybe Olaf will go senile on the boat and start talking to himself, [or half and half] and then they'll overhear. Or not. Either way, it's gonna be one helluva book. Loong and juicy too. whee
I'm not too good at guessing things though...and not very creative. So I have no theroies that are serious. Mine are all silly, often involving bananas and telephone booths.

Someone mentioned something about everything that happened to the Baudelaire's was just some sort of initiation, somwthing that all VFD member's have to go through. Im not sure, but it is a good idea?

lord_illpalazzo Wikipedia says Olaf will die in the 13th book. I could go to wiki and edit it to say he slaughters everyone by giving them the medusoid miecelium. Unless they give the reputable source where they got it from I don't really respect what wiki says.
