Zslone2 brainnsoup @ AllSevenDeadlySins, Shiori Miko, and Lumanny: If they had existed, would you not consider the gods from Greek, Norse, etc. mythology gods then? They certainly had power over mortals, but they were not all-knowing and some had no powers at all.
@ Zslone2: If a god is cruel, can it not be a god? Srry for the EPICALLY delayed response i wasn't watching this thread intensely. And i said Kind yet knows Discipline. So one being cruel could be a god as long as they dont go around lighting random towns and cities on fire just cause they feel like it. They are allowed to be mean just they need to control their anger. But is that a characteristic that a god should have or must have? If a god lights the entire earth on fire just for funsies, does it lose its god-ness?
@xxEternallyBluexx: XD I will respond eventually, I promise, I've just been kind of busy lately.

God is whatever you can make it of. Individuals see it all differently. I don't see the point really. I used to see God as invisible, energy-force that is not human and neither able to be reached. Really makes no sense to me anymore.

A god is a being with limitless power, immortality and the ability to create and govern all living things. A god is a great emotionless and powerful being.

Itachi_Hare Why would a god have to folow any set guidline, why would they have to be without emotions? Do they really HAVE to be good? Do they HAVE to have created us? Please explain your answers as best you can... Because we hae to have criteria for a god to match, other wise anyone can be god, and because God told us who He was. They don't. God and gods both have emotions. They have to be good because the fact we have a moral nature is the evidence of the nature of the one in charge. It maes sense for them to have created us. After all why would we care about a supernatural who's completely unrelated to us?

rmcdra zabazor A person can not EVER become a GOD!!! Proof. Quote: I believe a god must come from the higher forces.[And what is this higher force. Quote: This does not mean men are not derived from this force, but there is a different concentration. Why is this concentration fixed. Quote: Gods may be capable of taking on flesh, but it doesn't happen often, and I myself do not beleive in such things. And because you don't believe this, we should agree with you why? Quote: The belief in a god makes the god real. Abrahamic and even Hellenistic religions would disagree with you on this one. Quote: This is what gives pagans bad names. This idea of "lightning from fingertips" magic is preposterous. What belief in becoming a god? You know there are Hindu based religions that believe that becoming a god is a possibility in reincarnation Quote: Now lets look at the source of this information. A TV show, but not any TV show, a cartoon. I apologize for my aggression, but do you really wish for us to take this seriously? Not all you see on TV is accurate. Wait what? Where is this coming from and what does this have to do with this topic? Quote: But aside, it is an interesting question, but a question I'm sure you knew the answer to prior. Why? Quote: To answer the real question...what makes a god. Mericals are cheap tricks and prayer is a bonus. The only true thing required to make a god is the belief that it is a god. That's how cults are formed thinking men are gods, and if it is real for someone, it is just as real as any god. Why is belief all that's need to make something/one a god? I have not seen any reason why I should accept this assertion. Especially when you contradicted yourself by saying that man cannot become god but all that's needed to make a god is belief. Allow me to fill in here, as I have this vibe. Proof? I have little. The force is soulstuff- it is above energy. Soulstuff is massless and directonless, and outside of time. It is what the pre-big-bang singularity was made of. It condenses into energy which condenses into matter. Why is the concentration fixed? As mentioned elsewhere, soulstuff is higher than energy and similar to energy, at least more so than to matter. We are like flames in that way- and, again as mentioned, we are like candles to the sun. And you may argue that a flame has potential to grow- and indeed it does. But if you catch the whole world ablaze and glow brighter than everything else on earth, you are still a drop in the bucket to God. As for Hinduism , they can get to the divine plane if they play their cards right. This doesn't make them the creator. I have a lot of respect for monks- the way they bend Ki is quite impressive and shows a divine connection. Keep in mind, being divine does not mean that one's divine essence is as powerful as God's, just that they tap into it more than the average bear. And I disagree with the last part.

I am part of a tradition that makes a distinction between gods and God so I am well aware about what you are talking about but thank you for clarifying.

for me a god would be a maker and a namer
so to the extent that we create and name
we follow the pattern of godhood.
it seems to me that a maker however cannot be made.
