Gage watched as Death demonstrated Emily the things she needed to learn and patiently waited his turn. When Death finally came over, He did a quick demonstration of a fiery round house and told him to make the fire around his hands a little thicker. “Ok then…” He said aloud right before he was kicked in the face. He saw it coming and on instinct he used his chakra to create a fire shield that stopped the burn, but not the kick. It hit him square in the cheek and almost knocked him to the ground, but he sucked it up and went straight to work on his Taijutsu.
Gage stretched out both of his hands and without thinking, was able to create a thin layer of chakra over his hands. ‘It’s getting easier…’ He thought as he began to focus on his fire nature inside his body. His hands burst into a ball of flame that was about once inche around his hand, making his fist appear to be the size of a good-sized water balloon. ‘Hmm… That was simple…’ He thought as he threw a few basic punches in the air before the fire faded. ‘No need to get worked up… Yet…’ [Learning: Flaming Mauy-Thai Rank 2 (1/3)]
‘Now for the feet...’ He thought, kind of unsure how it would work. He juked left and army rolled into a springed double front flip before letting out a 360 degree round house and landing perfectly on his feet. ‘Now I feel a little better.’ He thought, after stretching his muscles, it would help him with the next exercise. Gage stood straight and formed the Kai hand sign and closed his eyes. He could feel the chakra moving towards his legs, but was unsure if anything was happening, so he opened his eyes and noticed that he had used too much chakra. Some of it had leaked out onto the ground and was beginning to climb up to his knees. ‘Oh wow, a little too much…’ He thought as he stopped his chakra from climbing over his whole body. He began to feel a little drained as he focused on his fire nature. ‘Here we go’ He thought as he heard a loud ‘WOUF’ as his feet erupted in flames. He began kicking out in sequence, left high, right high, left mid, right mid, left low, then right low. He did this several times before the flames ceased and Gage began to smell the scorched grass. ‘Hmm almost done…’ He thought as he began stretching, getting ready for the quick step. [Learning: Flaming Mauy-Thai Rank 2 (2/3)]
Gage walked up to a near by tree and stood quietly. ‘Here goes nothing…’ He thought as he juked right then moved left, quickly spinning half way around the tree and his fist erupted in flames as he struck it. Burning bark flew into his face as he preformed the move perfectly. He landed and smiled as he quickly covered his hands and feet with chakra and soon after they erupted in flames. He set himself up in a kick boxing stance and began throwing punches and kicks in a very quick and organized fashion, he ended with a juke left and a low roundhouse that caused him to have to roll and disband his fire. He came back on his feet in a few seconds and smiled. ‘Looks like that’s it for now…’ He thought as he finally began to finally feel the sweat on his brow. ‘Wow, my adrenalin is pumping…’ He thought as he stopped and sat down to take a break. ‘Let’s get ready to rock…’ He thought as he waited for Death to give him further instructions. Konaga Shinji| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Chuunin ||| Shinobi Profession: Teaching Master || RPC Profile || Shinji sat in the cave behind his parent's house in Stonebrook Settlement, his mind searching for answers to questions he had a hard time even asking. What had happened to the Iwagakure? The village which was once booming and strong had almost completely disbanded, it's people emigrating to other countries, leaving the ninja village abandoned due to the lack of services to provide. In short, the village had closed, they had failed in a greater sense to make themselves a great nation. Clutching his headband in his hand, Shinji stared down at it in disappointment... not in himself, but in the village which he had believed in and in which he had invested so much dedication and work.
Shinji thought to himself what he could have possibly done to solidify the nature of the village and save it, but he knew that such a thing was beyond his power. The eventual demise of the village in his mind came from a lack of consistent, strong leadership and unfortunately, that was not a role he could fill. Had he the power and ability, he would have gladly tried, but it was not the reality of the situation. Tightening his grip on the headband, Shinji struggled for some time with his thoughts in the cave as he had for many weeks since he had returned home. As he sat there his senses suddenly kicked up as a tingling of incoming danger awakened him from his thoughts. His head instinctively looking up, Shinji had just enough time to use the metal headband in his hand to deflect the incoming kunai aimed at his head.
His body kicking into adrenaline mode immediately, Shinji flipped backwards, kicking up off the ground from his sitting position just in time to dodge the incoming attack of a cloaked figure whose flying axe kick had just missed him, crashing into the spot he was sitting in, creating a small crater in the rock below. As Shinji's foot landed, again his attacker left no time for thought, dashing forward to deliver a series of quick strikes, all of which Shinji was able to dodge and deflect, his demeanor growing more and more amused with every strike. as the attacks progressed, his calm demeanor changed to a smile, then to a mischievous grin as he suddenly ducked under one attack, traveling upward with a palm to his attacker's chin, only to have the attack dodged and countered with a spinning kick to his right side. Putting his arm up, Shinji blocked the attack and then quickly grabbed his attacker's leg, brutally swinging his body to the right, dragging the attacker with him as he sent the body flying into the wall of the cave with a crash and an explosion of particles of rock and dust.
"C'mon old man... you're better then that, you're not fooling anyone. What gives?' His words echoing through the cave, Shinji's grin only widened as his father slowly walked out of the debris of the cave, unwrapping the cloth which obscured his face to reveal a smile all his own. "Well, if I was aiming to harm you, I suppose I would have tried harder, but I exerted only as much effort as was needed to wake you up. Have you considered my proposal in all this time you've been sitting out here? It has been a week at least since I last spoke to you of it." Shinji's smile faded and left him with a somewhat serious look on his face, his father's question reigniting the question in his mind once again, bringing up a proposal he wasn't altogether happy about. "I dunno Dad. Another village so soon? What if the Iwagakure re-establishes itself?... I'd be considered a traitor and it's not likely I'd be allowed to leave the new village. to be forever locked into a land and a people who aren't my own, I'm not sure I could bear it."
"That is not your only option son. YOUR people, OUR people were never meant to subscribe to anyone but themselves. Think of this as a temporary assignment, a treaty of peace, or allegiance for the time being. You are a Konaga, you create the terms of your own life and your own position. I have never belonged to any village, yet I have served many of them in some capacity. You can continue to be an Iwagakure shinobi, but a rogue at the same time. Choose a village and define your own terms of service to it. Any village who sees your skills would be foolish to turn your offer of services away. At the very least, it's better then sitting around and waiting for something to happen around here. More then that, perhaps your travels will strengthen you to the level where you could even re-forge the Iwagakure yourself. Either way, it's time for you to get moving."
Having said what he came to say, Seijiro left it at that and walked out of the cave, leaving Shinji alone in his thoughts once more. Sitting down once again, Shinji pondered it all in his head and carefully considered how he would proceed given the advice his father had laid out for him, weighing his own desires and thoughts in on the idea.

Konaga Shinji| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Chuunin ||| Shinobi Profession: Teaching Master || RPC Profile || It was another day or so after Seijiro had spoken to Shinji in the cave once more and not much had changed. Shinji's mother was beginning to worry and was asking Seijiro to speak to him again, but he refused to do so and simply went on about his business assisting Riko with some training around the settlement and assisting in the other duties he had. As they all sat about at the end of the day, resting after a day of training, Shinji suddenly walked into the room looking like he was ready for journey, his sword and shuriken strapped in their battle positions and a single pack filled to the brim hung over his shoulder.
With any adieu at all, Shinji turned to Riko and his parents and simply announced, "I'm going to the Sunagakure. Hopefully I'll have cause to return here and rejoin the Iwagakure, but until then I have to keep growing." With those words, Shinji continued out of the house and began taking the path which would lead to the Life Road and carry him to his destination. Never being one for goodbyes, Shinji knew that travel for a Konaga was more then expected so he tried hard not to make a big deal of it, but this time leaving was very hard for him. His father was right however, he had to keep moving and continue growing and the Sunagakure was a harsh environment and a tough village to survive in, which would be what he was searching for. Leaving Riko behind was also difficult, but Shinji could not decide her path for her. If she followed him, he would be happy, but he would not dare to make that decision for her.
Turning through the streets in the black of night, Shinji finally found his way to the beginning of the long road, the various lights from the small village fading away, leaving only the moon's light to guide his path down the dark road. Shinji could have created a light for himself, but it wasn't necessary. He was in no danger and at this time of night he doubted even bandits would be out waiting for an ambush.{{Exit to Life Road}} [Chakra Point Total: ∞] [Stamina : 83/85]

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Walking through the small settlement, Kye expertly navigated her way through a series of houses until she finally arrived at a home near the edge of the town, set up against the backdrop of a large rock face which extended for miles in either direction. Walking up to the door, Kye knocked three times and waited for a reply. After not too long, a thing, young woman with green hair answered the door, an Iwagakure headband hanging loosely around her neck... "Hello... can I help you?" Kye didn't recognize the girl at all, but that wasn't surprising... Konaga were a wandering people, and this might simply be a visitor visiting the Clan Head.
"Yes, I'm sure you can. I'm looking for Konaga Seijiro, does he still live here?" the young girl smiled and nodded, quickly answering Kye's question. "Yes, he does. He's in the middle of training though, should I tell him he has a visitor?" "Yes, please." Kye responded immediately, but with a calm tone, "Please tell him that Elise has come to visit. He will know me." Nodding silently in response, the young woman left the door open and rushed off into the caves to get Seijiro. The door was left wide open and Kye could have easily stepped inside, but respectfully she waited at the edge of the door until Seijiro finally turned the cornered, followed shyly by the same young woman who this time kept her distance and observed the two from across the room.
"Well, well... look who it is. When Riko said that a woman by the name of Elise was at the door, I could hardly believe it, but here you are. Please, please... come in, you know you're always welcome in my home." Seijrio motioned for her to come in and kye nodded in acceptance, though showed no sign of a friendly smile in return to Seijiro's. Instead, she simply made her way into the house, and finding the chair in the family room she liked the best, sat down and waited for Seijiro to join her. Following her into the room, Seijiro took his own seat and smiled again, his mind musing as to why Elise had returned to visit him, and Riko followed, taking a seat in the room as well. "Naturally, I'm glad to see you, but I imagine you're here to discuss what happened to the Iwagakure."
Kye's brow furrowed slightly, showing intrigue at Seijiro's offer, but out of the corner of her eye, noted that the young woman named Riko's expression became sullen at the mention of the village as her head dropped a bit. "Why would I ask about the Iwagakure? Did something happen." On Kye's question, Riko's arm wiped across her face as she excused herself and rushed out oft he room, much to Kye's surprise, though it would have been her preference to speak to Seijiro alone in the first place. "You really must get out more Elise. I know that things are isolated in your sector of the shinobi world, but a great tragedy has occurred that demands your attention. The entire Iwagakure... all of it, it's civilians, it's shinobi... it's buildings... every bit of the great village has been destroyed."
The words rolled off of Seijiro's tongue with a calm tone and a surprisingly matter of fact statement, but the surprise of it still hit Kye as her expression shifted to one of complete shock. "The ENTIRE village? Destroyed?... but how? What force would have been large enough to accomplish this?" Seijiro smirked a bit at the question, as it was not every day one could surprise Elise with a bit of information, but given the circumstances it was to be expected. "No one really knows actually. My son Shinji was in the village along with Riko when it happened. Luckily, with Shinji's skill, he was able to save Riko and many others, but no one had a chance to identify what happened fully. There were reports of kunai and shuriken flying through the streets wildly, and other large metal objects flying about, destroying buildings and crushing the citizens. From the accounts, days before the event, the village was blanketed in what was described as a black ash of sorts."
"During the final episode of the technique, Shinji was able to detect a figure floating high above the vilalge using our Chakra Sight, but all he could say of it was that it's chakra levels were nearly at a Konaga's. Beyond that however, a strange lattice of chakra had been generated throughout the entire village, which obscured nearly everything and amde it impossible to see details. He, Riko, and a few others made it underground in time, but when they came back up... the village was utterly destroyed, the ash was gone, and nothing was left of Iwagakure any longer." Kye listened to the story in shock, but was able to put many of the pieces together as Seijiro spoke of it... with an eye-witness account like Shinji's it was clear what had happened, but it would only be clear to someone with her experience.
"And where is Shinji now? May I speak with him about the incident?" Truthfully, Kye would have liked to ask other questions about Shinji, as she had not seen him since he was a young child as was interested to hear of his skills considering he was his father's son, but the situation demanded much more immediate attention to the attack which had befallen the Iwagakure. "Shinji is not here. After coping with the loss of his village he was resolved to grow stronger and so he left to join the Sunagakure until he had the ability to return and rebuild what he had lost. He left not too long ago in fact, maybe a week ago, or less... the days pass so slowly recently." Kye nodded at all Seijiro said and then sat silent for several minutes as Seijiro sat, smiling at Kye figuring that she was processing the account and everything she had heard.
His patience keeping him silent, it was Kye's voice which broke the silence... "Thank You Seijiro. You are a reliable friend, as always. For reasons which I'm sure are obvious to you, I should go." standing up, Kye began to walk out of the house before she was suddenly stopped by Seijiro, "Just one second there young lady...' stopping in her tracks, Kye turned around to see Seijiro duck into a room only to appear a few moments later with a cloak which he tossed to her. "I originally had it made for myself after my conversation with the Mizukage Luo Ushio at the Chuunin exams. The cloak suppresses it's wearer's chakra signature to about 1/5 it's normal output. It's also specially designed to absorb the more 'violent' presence of a Konaga's chakra, but obviosuly you have no need of such an effect." Pausing for a second, Seijiro smiled and paused for a second, admiring the workmanship of the cloak his contacts had made for him.
"It's yours now. I figure if you'll be walking around outside your domain, you'll want a way to stay low key... it seems to be a pattern of your I've noted. Maybe you'll even stop claiming to be a Konaga just to cover up your excessive amount of chakra for a travelling diplomat. then again, who could blame you... we Konaga are pretty awesome, aren't we?" Seijiro allowed a large smile to grow on his face as he sought to get at least a smile out of Kye. To his surprise, he got more then that, as Kye allowed herself to loosen up in the presence of an old friend, a smile coming onto her face as she let out a slight giggle. Her smile turning to a grin, she thanked Seijiro sincerley for the gift... "That they are. You are a true friend Seijiro, one of the few people in this world I trust. I will be sure to say hello to your son in Suna for you when I get there." Nodding his head, seijiro smiled once more and waved goodbye to Kye.
Without any further conversation, Kye wrapped the cloak around her, the material being surprisingly light for how large the cloak was, and then left, closing the door behind her as she began to walk towards the gates of the Iwagakure. From everything Seijiro had recounted to her, the description of the chakra fields and everything else that had occurred, Kye had a strong feeling that she would know exactly what had happened to the Iwagakure, but she needed to investigate.
