No. Telephone, scope, philosophy and physics are greek. Tele is greek, not latin. phonos is greek, not latin. philos is greek, not latin. sophos is greek, not latin. Physics is greek, not latin. Latin doesn't have the ph as f thing. That's an entirely greek construct. In short, you're 100% wrong again.

XxBroken_And_ShatteredxX Sanguina Cruenta Broken_Penguin_Man I'm Celtic Wiccan. I was taught by a close friend of mine. You should probably find someone that is also pagan and let that other person teach you. I don't know much either, but I've been to a few rituals and have a minor grasp on some gods. but that's about it. Celtic Wicca does not exist. confused Wicca is an initiatory religion that worships gods who are not of a Celtic pantheon. Celtic Wicca is a tradition of Wicca, loosely synchronized with elements of Celtic mythology, mostly, as noted by authors including Ronald Hutton, Kelly, Greer and Cooper, by way of the Romanticist Celtic Revival. Raeburn (2001) is aware of the ahistoricity of "Celtic Wicca", establishing "a firm distinction between historical Celtic inspiration and modern Wiccan practice". Celtic Wiccans worship some of the gods of the Celtic pantheon; however, this worship is within a Wiccan structure, not a Celtic one. (Got that on wikipedia.) TRY SAYIN' MY RELIGION DON'T EXIST AGAIN! See? this is why i go by "Eclectic Pagan". I tried "Solitary Wiccan" But oh no, thats offensive. I went and sat in the corner and figured out a more complicated way to say the same thing. I dont bother with labels, I am who I am, and i understand what i beleve, and my understanding deepens as time goes on. I dont need to prove my belefs to others.

redwolfshadow See? this is why i go by "Eclectic Pagan". I tried "Solitary Wiccan" But oh no, thats offensive. Well, yes. Not to me, granted, but I imagine some Wiccans find it offensive. It's inappropriate, though, and it's wrong. So I'm not sure why you'd do it. Quote: I went and sat in the corner and figured out a more complicated way to say the same thing. How is one more complicated than the other? For that matter, how are they the same thing?

Latin aint got phi Besides, many Latin words were originated from the Greek anyways.

I just wanted to post this in relation the the actual thread and not the ensuing arguments ((which I have observed that Sanguina is Winner in all xD)). I'm starting, along with a friend, but we don't know any Wiccans to help us, or anything really.. but this site www.everythingunderthemoon.net helped us, especially reading about this woman's experience with Wicca :3

Amber and JetThis would be a better starting point for Wicca. I'll have to look at your link a bit more closely but on issue I noticed is that they used "Magick" to describe magic. The reason I see this as an issue is because Magick is something specific to Thelma

WINNAR. cool Nah really. Wicca-ness, and how it is not, entirely aside: that site is not a great site. I mean, okay, let's be fair. It's primarily for spells. And it accomplishes that. But beyond that there's like... no actual information on this site. (Also that woman is not a Wiccan.) The site owner seems like a bit of a flake but hasn't said anything I've seen in my browsing thus far to make me fetch my soap box. This site is a lot better. Now, keep in mind, I don't agree with this woman's definition of "Wiccan" or her reasons for using the word. What she describes is something I associate with particular forms of Neo-Pagan witchcraft that might share some superficial similarities to Wicca. At any rate, keeping that in mind, the info is some of the best info online that you can get. (And that isn't actually about Wicca.)
