Sorry if somebody has already touched on this, but why the hell does Edward drive a Volvo?
From what I know, they're relatively safe, relatively fuel-efficient, and while they cost more than other cars, they don't cost all too much. And they're square.
So, why does Edward drive a Volvo and not a Ferrari or something?

Because volvo means 'I fly' in Spanish.
I don't know, maybe Meyer saw a Volvo drive past her house when she was thinking of something to write.

ALL of the Cullens drive/wear/own/listen to whatever s**t Meyer deems 'cool'. What I want to know is how the hell they can afford all these cars, make payments, and own a bank account to have the credit to GET the car without ANYONE noticing they aren't aging. My only guess is that they could be stolen, but Meyer who probably make some bullcrap reason behind it complete with flawed logic. God forbid Eddykins be a thief. stare
I think Volvos are ugly too.

twilight_is_for_idiots ALL of the Cullens drive/wear/own/listen to whatever s**t Meyer deems 'cool'. What I want to know is how the hell they can afford all these cars, make payments, and own a bank account to have the credit to GET the car without ANYONE noticing they aren't aging. My only guess is that they could be stolen, but Meyer who probably make some bullcrap reason behind it complete with flawed logic. God forbid Eddykins be a thief. stare I think Volvos are ugly too. Actually, according to the 'Alice' page on Frozen Apples, she steals cars. Apparently Ferraris are too hard to steal, though, so they don't have one. For some reason.

I think Meyer gave Alice the whole car thief thing in an attempt to give more depth.
Although, you have to admit she seems more worked on than a lot of the characters in the book.
But still, stealing cars? Play a little too much GTA, eh Alice?

According to the author of the LDS Sparkledammerung, Volvos are MAV's, which are Mormon Assault Vehicles, for those big Mormon families.
