Phraktos frowned slightly at her words, "So then..should I try and move this thing something will happen? Figures..there would be a false bottom in a false window seat." he mumbled more to himself.

He moved his hands back out, leaving the chest to stay where it was and was rather startled to see his enchanted gauntlets suddenly flare a bright orange when they drew back. he blinked a bit weirded out by it and moved his arms back to the area where they had flared up.

"Well, I don't think it's underneath the chest, but under the floorboards." he said with a sudden laugh.

Imordana eyed Phraktos with grown disfavor. he really was a clueless idiot when it came to hiding places. A sorcerer never hid things where one would think it would be hidden...but in a place one wouldn't think of looking. Then again maybe it was the opposite of that. It was all rather frustrating. Why did sorcerers always think they had to be so clever and witty? It would make things so much easier if one didn't have to figure out a sorcerer's crazed mind.

Imordana sighed and stepped back and looked around the room with a critical look. The bright flare of the thief's gauntletts made her gaze turn to where he was kneeling on the floor and figured out, just as he said it, that the item she was looking for was indeed hidden under the floorboards.

"So..they must be." She said with a slight frown, and pushed some straw hairs out of her face as she knelt besides the thief and began to help him pry the floorboards loose.

Within a few tugs and some grunts, the two of them managed to rip the board up to reveal a green tinted orb nestled inside a small empty space in the floor. "Come to mama!" Imordana proclaimed as she triumphantly plucked it from the hole.

Then she swore, and fell backwards to get out of the way of a falling net. She was able to avoid it, but her thief wasn't.

Phraktos stared at her in confusion, when she swore and fell backwards over herself to get out of the way. "What, is something wrong?" He asked puzzled only for a moment and then excruciating pain shot through his upper body when he was suddenly covered with a fine mesh net that sparked up with magical energies. He cursed and tried to pull his arms up to shove it off..but found his arms stuck to his sides as the pain began to rip throughout his body.

"GET IT OFF! IT BURNS!" He shrieked in agony, as the priestess backed away with a scared look on her face. "Don't leave me here! Help me!" He cried, feeling his chest constrict and his heart beat begin to slow from the magical device's pulsating waves strike him with intensity he had never felt in his life.

Imordana was rather horrified by the shrieks that emerged from the thief, surely he could stand a little pain. Despite the fact that the noise he was making could bring others running, Imordana didn't make a move to run out on him. She still remembered how she had been in the same sort of situation only a few years earlier and the other thief..Mikaril had helped her escape certain death.

Imordana grabbed an old walking stick propped up by the door and used it to knock the net off of Phraktos after several tries. She grabbed him by his cloak and hauled him up to his knees.

"If there's anything you want to grab, do it quickly. Your screams have undoubtedly carried through the halls and we only have seconds to get out of here before we are caught in the act." She hissed urgently into his ear.

Phraktos stared up at her in surprise, despite his begging he had thought that the priestess would have abandoned him to his fate once she had her hands on her precious orb. He lurched to his feet, completely disregarding anything in the room and headed straight to the door.

"I'd rather not, let's get out of here." He moaned, his body aching and throbbing with intense pain.

He didn't wait for her to answer or say anything, as he dashed out the door and moved as quickly as he could back the way they had come before. His every breath made his lungs burn, and his back and shoulders burned intensely. It was almost as if someone had shoved him into a burning fire and left him there to cook for several hours. He didn't want to see what his precious cloak looked like now, but he imagined there were several holes burned into it from the enchanted net.

Imordana grabbed up two small vials from one of the shelves and followed after the thief's disappearing backside. Thankfully she was able to catch up with him only a few moments later. While they walked back to the down the hallways and down two staircases, she keep her ears open for any sound that someone was coming towards them. They had just hit the lower hallways when she heard caught the slightest sound of a door being shoved open several times.

Imordana swore, and signed to Phraktos that they were going to have some visitors soon. She upped her speed, and was flying down the hallways and towards the storage room that they had emerged from. She came to a sudden halt and swore when she caught sight of a very well known sorcerer making his way out of the room. She swiftly turned and went down a different hallway hoping to avoid any scrutiny from the sorcerer.

Phraktos caught the sound of the door behind them opening multiple times and had come to the same conclusion when the priestess signed to him. He nodded, a grim and agonized expression on his face. The pain was getting even worse, which made him realize that removing the net hadn't stopped any of the pain..and that pretty soon he wouldn't be able to move unless he could get some help to counter the enchanted booby trap's affects.

Phraktos barely managed to stop when Imordana halted and then dashed off into a different direction. He blinked, a bit confused until he saw the sorcerer that had emerged from the storage room. He mentally cursed, and stepped into a room to the left, trying to appear as though he belonged in the school. It worked, which surprised the thief, for the sorcerer didn't even look over in his direction as he passed.

The only problem with his plan was the discovery of two females sleeping wrapped in each other's arms. His entering the room, woke their pet which chortled in alarm causing them to wake and gape at him momentarily before they opened their mouths to scream.

Phraktos cursed, and dove onto the bed to hold their mouths' closed. "Shh..no need to be alarmed," he murmured as he held their mouths closed. "I was just passing through. You don't happen to know a backway out of this place do you? I'm trying to elude a jilted lover...he's a bit insane." Phraktos improvised.

Imordana cursed silently when Phraktos didn't show up, and she peeked out of the narrow hallway. She had to duck back quickly to avoid being seen by the sorcerer. She held her breath so not to give away her position as the older drow slowly made his way past her. Finally he was gone and she let loose her breath and glanced back out into the hallway.
Where had that thief gone? She wondered, cursing him inwardly. What the hell was he doing? This was no time for searching other rooms for small treasures and trinkets! She resolved that she would wait only a few more moments before she left without him. She wasn't about to be caught and killed for a stupid lunk of a thief!

Phraktos eyed the two females warily as he let their mouths go so that they could reply to his questions. They eyed him for a moment, a bit warily before the taller one finally replied.

"Why should we help you? You haven't even given us reason to want to help you." She pouted, a sly look crossing over her features.

At this Phraktos groaned and jumped off the bed. "Never mind..I don't have time for any games..I'm being hunted down for sport. One such as me is worth more alive than dead." He complained as he lurched towards the door of their room.

He was rather stunned when the shorter, more robust female tackled him to the floor and pinned him there. "Did you think you could accost us and get away with it! Driz'dae' come place a curse on this insufferable male!" She snarled, here eyes going dark in righteous anger.

Phraktos shoved her off of him and onto the other female that was starting to come off the bed and cursed. s**t s**t, he thought wildly as he clambered to his feet and dashed out of the room not even looking where he was going.

Imordana was about to leave the area when the giant of a thief came bursting out of a room nearby as though his pants were on fire. Imordana held herself back, figuring that there would most likely be some very incensed occupant following after him shortly. She was rather amused when a few seconds later, two females, nearly naked came out of the room in pursuit of him. She held back a hearty laugh, pulled her cloak over her face and followed after the threesome.

It didn't take very long for her to realize where Phraktos was leading the two females and she couldn't help but curse aloud. She winced at the sound of her voice, and she glanced around to make sure that no one else had overheard her epithet. Thankfully the hallways were quiet and there were no sounds of anyone following after them.

Still that did cause her some concern. Why would they have stopped their pursuit of them? Unless perhaps they knew where the thieves had come in. Imordana closed her eyes at this thought and breathed in deeply. s**t. What was she going to do now? It seemed that it was fate, and she would have to leave the thief to his own devices to get out. After all..she had paid him half the amount up front and if he didn't return to his House she would send the rest to his sister.

It was time to cut her losses and get out of there while she still had the chance to get away in one piece. Imordana prayed to the goddess for the thief, and then turned off in a different direction than they had come. It had been a smart move on her part to have gleaned several other escape routes from Dra when she had had the chance.

Phraktos had ran about a yard before he realized what direction he was headed. Inwardly he cursed his blinded idiocy ad pulled open one of his pouches slipped a ring out nd slid it onto his left ring finger. For a moment Phraktos was certain he had grabbed the wrong ring, until the ring's spell took affect and produced a cloned image of him running ahead and then rendered him completely invisible. Phraktos breathed a sigh of relief and then doubled back the way he had come, making sure to move as silently as possible.

When he passed his two pursuers, Tose eyed the two females closely so he'd render their faces into his memory permanently. He definitely did not want a repeat occurrence of today anytime in the future. To hell with that.

After that it didn't take him long to catch up with the priestess. She was bent over in front of a door attempting to pick the lock with a hair pin and seemed to be having a hard time with it. Phraktos leaned in close and whispered in her ear softly, "Need a hand with that Priestess?"

Imordana froze at the whispered question and then turned and and then shrugged off the absence of seeing the tall form of Phraktos standing over her. Her mind immediately reasoned that the thief had probably filched at least one invisibility ring in his lifetime and left it at that.
"Tell me Phraktos," she hissed in a low tone. "do you really want to lose your manhood due to your inability to help me out with this?"

Tos sobered up, and grimaced slightly as he knelt next to her and quickly and very efficiently picked the lock in a manner of seconds. "Now then, it seems that you need my help more than you'd like to admit priestess. I guess it wasn't a smart thing to sneak off without me, was it?" Phraktos asked, acting slightly offended by her actions.

Imordana shot him a withering look and told him rather coldly. "Well I wasn't about to come to your rescue against a sorceress and her enraged lover. I figured that you'd been in those sort of situations before, what with your charming qualities."
She turned back to the door and slowly pulled it open and then took a long look around before she slide inside the room.
"What did you do that upset them so?" She asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Well thanks...if I didn't happen to have this ring who knows what might have happened to me. Why I could be stuck in some frozen tundra right now!" Tos complained with a slight shudder at the thought as he followed her into the room and closed th door behind himself.
"Oh you know me, I was my usual charming self." He told her with a wry smile.

Imordana shook her head and then held up her hand saying, "Enough merry banter, let's save it for later once we're out of this place."

Tos nodded in agreement and shot a glance around the elaborately decorated room. "Another job so soon?" He asked curiously.

It was definitely a room that screamed for a thief to visit. The walls were decorated with elaborate ancient tapestries and old paintings of an odd assortment of drow. Old, young, exotic, and the downright unusual. The bed was hidden behind heavy gold laden curtains and every spare bit of floor was covered with rich gold carpets.

And of course there was the long table in the center of the room filled with every imaginalbe currency-gold, silver, platinum, copper, diamon, emeralds and more. There were also ancient texts strewn all across the fesk in the corner of the room, and shelf after shelf of magical knick nacks, potions, spell components, a snake staff in one ceroner, and spell book after spell book. This was definitely the inner sanctum of a very high up sorcerer.

"Do not even think about taking anything!" Imordana exclaimed angrily and smacking him in the chest. "We have what we came for. We are merely using this sorcerer's secret escape route, unless you want to trigger one of his booby traps. Oh and I know for a fact that his are a thousand times worse than that net you triggered." Imordana retorted shooting him a warning glare as she carefully and slowly counted tiles and then slowly made her way across the floor.
"Follow me exactly now or it could be your last step." She murmured as she paused to count some more tiles.

Phraktos ignored the slight stinging sensation to his chest where the priestess had smacked him in her anger. He wasn't really sure how his question could have provoked her to hit him. While he was a pro at enciting rage in the opposite sex usually questions were not the contributing factors. Tos figured it was merely her way of reacting to the stress of what they had gone though so far. Though to him it had been like every other day he had experienced thus far, chaotic and adrenaline pumped. "Whatever you say," Phraktos replied focusing on following her footsteps exactly. "So then, you do know how to open this secret door right?" Tos asked.

Imordana was getting rather annoyed with the big lummox and his ceaseless questions. Why couldn't he just shut his trap and let her concentrate? If she got one step wrong it would mean the difference of opening a portal to the abyss or somewhere even more frightful. Shaking her head she counted carefully to thirteen as she continued the pattern on the tiled floor. At the last step the tiles she had previously crossed began to glow an illuminescent blue.

"Quick, get on the tiles I'm on!" Imordana told the thief, realizing that if he stayed where he was the armor would interfer with the flow of the spell.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 29, 2010 1:24 pm

Phraktos' eyes grew wide at the sight of the glowing tiles and jumped to her tiles almost before she finished what she had been saying. He had experienced enough of magic to know his armor didn't always repel it and a lot of times seemed to either attract it or make it worse on him.
"Now what?" He asked, his long arms wrapped around her waist to keep himself from falling backwards.

Imordana felt her cheeks grow slightly warm at the feelings the thief's touch had stirred up in her. Imordana shook her head to clear it and began chanting the last incantation that would keep the portal from ripping them to shreds. It seemed rather excessive for a sorcerer to rig his portal in such a way, but rather ingenius. Most thieves wouldn't think that a portal could be made into a booby trap and would unwittingly use it only to be torn apart the second they stepped inside.

Imordana had just completed the counter spell when the door to the sorcerer's chambers flew open with a loud bang, revealing one very enraged sorcerer.

"Jump!" Imordana screamed, her hands blurring into action reaching up to rip one of her braid decorations out and hefting it at the sorcerer.

Tos didn't really know what they were waiting for but knew better than to question the priestess. This far she had been on top of things and seemed to know what she was talking about. He didn't like the creepy crawly feeling that her chanting words were making him feel. He really had no idea how magically inclined drow managed to overcome such feelings.

Phraktos tensed when his sharp ears picked up the sound of footsteps outside the door but chose not to say anything. He knew it would only distract the priestess and cause worse things for them. He flinched a moment later when the door flew open and banged against the wall.

The moment the large red ring left the priestess' fingers, Tos grabbed her tightly around the waist and jumped into the middle of the portal. He saw a flash of bright red light come towards them as them in mid jump and then everything became a searing white heat around them.

Tos shrieked with pain and clapped his hands over his eyes trying to keep out the intrusive light. He felt a soft hand against his shoulder and heard a softly murmured prayer come from Imordana. A moment later the pain dissipated and his eyes began to adjust to the darkness once more. Tos pulled his hands from his face and turned to shoot a grateful slightly indignant look at her.
"How is it that the light didn't bother you?"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 03, 2011 11:12 am

Imordana's heart nearly jumped into her throat at the appearance of the sorcerer. Her mind thinking quickly she had unleashed one of her more powerful spells from her hair ornaments and commanded Tos to jump. She hadn't expected him to grab her and leap forward into the port but she was rather grateful that he had thought of her.

She had felt rather than seen the bright light around them before they emerged into the safe drop point. At the sound of the thief's shrieks she was glad that her magical sight had shielded her from the excruciating pain. She could have left him in intense pain but decided it would b e safer to quickly attend it so they could get moving.

She touched a broad shoulder and prayed a healing prayer over him and then held out a hand to help him up. She was rather taken aback at the tone in his voice when he questioned her.

"If you couldn't tell I don't have sight like the average drow. I don't know why the Goddess chose to bless me with such a unique gift of being able to see but to not be harmed by the things average sighted drow can;t stand. Come, let's get out of here before that sorcerer is able to free himsef from my spell and follow us here." She said waving her hand at him in an urgent manner.

Phraktos frowned, staring at her warily for a moment then grasped her hand and half heaved half pushed himself off the ground. "Good idea, I don't want to get caught by that guy."

Just as they turned to go there was a crackling pop of magical energy and a slightly incinerated wild eyed sorcerer appeared and unleashed a torrent of bright green power at Imordana. She let loose a startled cry and dodged it, falling heavily on her left side behind a crate. Phraktos found himself jumping back behind a large pile of boxes to avoid the next wave of magic that was thrown at them.

"s**t," Tos cursed. "What now priestess?" He knew better than to use names in front of a powerful sorcerer. Some sorcerers were known to use people's names to curse them even from long distances. And such curses were not easy ones to get rid of.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2011 5:03 pm

"Remember part D?" She called back, pulling a handful of spelled objects from her pouch and made ready to defend herself.

"Give back what you stole from my private rooms and I might be merciful to you thieving bastards!" the sorcerer bellowed unleashing more raw power on the both of them.

Phraktos did remember part D, it entailed him getting all the artifacts to the priestess's mage boyfriend and bringing him back to help her. He wasn't sure that was a good idea, but there wasn't any way he could fight against an all powerful sorcerer who was completely besieged with rage.

Phraktos' decision was made for him when the sorcerer unleashed a brutal torrent of searing spells at them. Tos lept in front of the priestess and brought up his gauntlets in front of his face. There was a momentarily smell of burning flesh a flash of whit heat in his vision and then the spells bounded backwards. Much to the surprise of the priestess and the sorcerer.

The sorcerer let loose a high pitched curse of disbelief and outrage and ported away before his magic would have a chance to hit him.

Imordana didn't know what the hell the thief was thinking when instead of following her orders he jumped in front of her in a foolish attempt to ward of the strong spells. She didn't know what to think when the powerful spells were thwarted by the thief's guantlets and saw that the sorcerer didn't either much to her amusement. She wasn't about to stand around and waste precious time trying to figure it out, all she knew is that they needed to get out of there.

"Come on, let's go!" she cried grabbing the thief by his long cape and hauling him down the alleyway.

Tos didn't need any further prompting to leave the scene. He had no doubt once the sorcerer knew that it was safe to return he would and he'd be ten times more pissed and enraged. Tos followed after the priestess and her mad dash down the alleyway rubbing his burnt forearms trying to get the stinging to stop.

They went about thirty yards running as fast as they could before they slowed to a quick walk trying to look as nonchalant as they could. Phraktos eyed the few drow that were out and about; not sure whether he should lower his guard just yet. The sorcerer probably had some lackies he could send after them.

"Oh crap!" Tos swore; grabbing for the items he had nicked out of the sorcerer's room. "He could track us with one of these items!" Tos made sure no one was watching and then flung the gems in different directions as they walked down the back streets of Undrek'Thoz.

Imordana frowned slightly, and pulled the box that held the item she needed from Tos' pouch and started chanting a spell over it. A faint green light appeared around it and then faded slightly. "That should keep him from tracking this." She said with a smug smirk.

Tos groaned, a bit pissed that he had already thrown half of his loot into the streets. "You could have mentioned that you could do that." He said with an annoyed glare at her.

Imordana just laughed at him, and then held her hand out for his pouch. He handed it over keeping a sharp eye on her. Imordana almost burst out in a loud laugh when she felt the same spell she had put on her box was already on the pouch. "Well..did you not know your pouch was already protected against seeker spells?"

Tos swore when the priestess asked him that. Why hadn't his sister thought to tell him that she had placed such a spell on his bag? He shook his head in annoyance, and managed to say through clenched teeth. "No I didn't! You'd think my sister would have told me." With a sigh, he ran his hand through his hair. "Well..since the job is done, may I go now?"

Imordana smirked slightly but didn't say anything more. She was a bit annoyed that he wanted to go so soon, but she didn't let it show. They had nearly died and she figured Tos had someone that he wanted to spend time with. "That's fine, I can send the rest of your payment to House iv'Ress. Thank you for a job well done, thief."

Tos was relieved that she was going to send the rest to his sister. He really didn't need the money all that much, though it would have enabled him to pay for more entertainment in Guallidurth. Iz'theri would more than likely allow him to take some from the House coffers what with some coming in to replace it. "That would be fine, Lady Imordana." He replied with a short bow to her. " 'Twas my pleasure milady!" He added with a wide grin and then went off to search for the jewels he had thrown earlier.
