Taking notice of Kiba's instantaneous relaxation, her smile only grew upon her face. She was always loyal, even when situations got bad enough where being loyal only caused insult added to injury. Again, she was reminded of how she got all those patches running through her coat, and would have shuddered, if Kiba's tail had not swayed to draw her thoughts to happier things. She waited in anticipation for his response; this would be the moment of truth. If he would come with her, she would be overjoyed...she didn't want to leave his company, but she had an aching feeling that Nina needed her badly right now. She was still just a pup, after all. She had hardly noticed that Kiba had to lose himself in thought for a moment before his reply, and she nearly barked from the joy of his response. That wasn't the end to her smile, however, for Kiba's bright white paw covered her own light green one, and her tail thumped audibly, smile grown to a new size by now. "Thank you, Kiba." She had just remembered that she had no idea which way the house was...but it seemed she didn't have to worry about that, as Kiba had taken the effort of finding it. Rising shortly after he had, she gave a curt nod. "Oh, and Kiba....don't feel bad if she's afraid of you." She warned, unsure of how either would react to the other. This time, however, when she made to follow him, she walked level at his side, not in his tracks. She felt confident enough that if anything should find them, Kiba would protect her.

Enjoying the feeling that ran through him at her smile, Kiba's tail swayed just a bit faster and his own grew in size. "Your welcome." Looking the stitched wolf over he briefly wondered why she was the way she was. Surely she wasn't born like that. But burying his wondering, Kiba decided he would ask her about it another time. Perhaps when they knew each other more, it might be a personal question. Drawing from his wonderings as she stood he perked it ears forward listening to her words. "Afraid? .. I shall try to be not scary. But just who is it we are we going to see." Walking at a nice pace beside her, they both headed off in the direction of the house. He might scare this wolf.. How was he supposed to avoid that? Perhaps if he acted playful. Picturing him down in a play bow, jumping around caused him to shake his head subtly. He wouldn't do that. Even if he had shown his kinder side to this wolf, he was still prideful. A fault yes, but it was who he was. He had only shown this side of him in order to help Lynn around him. And he felt glad that he did. Just knowing she was walking beside him, confident in his eyes made him happy. He had not liked when she would walk behind him. turning his head while they were walking, he nosed her cheek and chin kindly, before turning his attention to where they were walking and their surroundings.

Lynn was happy. Actually happy for once, around this wolf who so readily trusted her, and who she so readily trusted. And it felt good to finally be happy again, without being fearful or doubtful, or in pain and only grateful to someone who had saved her. Then again, Kiba had saved her in a way. Saved her from her loneliness. She noticed that he perked his ears forward. Was she still talking too quietly? "She's just a pup. She's really shy, though - and you might startle her. Her name is Nina. I saved her about a year ago - and since then she's like a daughter to me." She replied fluidly, a soft, nostalgic smile gracing her lips as she spoke - her eyes leaving the present momentarily to the pup falling asleep to her song. Her lips moved and a soft whisper of that same song came from them, "Fall into a sleep my child, for the storms have all cleared away. Sleep in peace an-" She suddenly noticed that her voice had grown from a whisper, and into a volume sufficient for speech, even song. Blushing and smiling despite herself, she came completely out of her daze when Kiba nosed her face, and she swished her tail behind her rapidly, with a large smile.

Startle her? Turning his head to look at her he frowned ever so slightly. Was he frightening? Ears twisting to rest against his head he pondered over that. Nina was her daughter, he didn’t want to leave a bad impression on the little puppy. Especially if it was someone close to her. Getting a flash back to his old pack, Kiba thought of Toboe. He was still young when they were together, but he wasn’t the least bit shy. Picturing the old group a sad look spread over his face and his head lowered just a bit. Even if they were never officially a ‘pack’ he still missed each of them. So when Lynn started her soft whisper of a song he didn’t notice. But as it rose in volume his ears stood and he broke out of his thoughts. ‘So beautiful...’ Keeping quiet as the song continued to grow louder, his tail swayed ever so quicker. Before it just, stopped. “That was a very beautiful song.” He murmured softly and a flicker of unnamed emotion shot through his eyes. He felt warm, the song reminded him of something. A memory triggered not by the song itself but the gentle hum of a mother singing to their child. But it couldn’t be his mother, he couldn’t remember her, ignoring the fuzzy flashback he continued to walk. “Your Nina is very lucky to have such a wolf as her mother. Your voice is quite lovely.” Smile spreading ever-so-slightly, Kiba moved ahead of her to push a branch that fell out into their path out of her way. “I.. hope Nina doesn’t, dislike me.” His voice was quite low when he said that for he wasn’t one to voice his concerns when it came to himself. But he felt such peace around this stitched wolf that he couldn’t help but feel a little concern over the thought her pup wouldn’t like him. Perhaps even be frightened by him.

Taking note of Kiba's soft frown, Lynn's ears shot back, and her face mimmciked his; only with a deeper frown. She also took in his change in demenor, and had wondered if she offended him with her warning. Or...if he didn't want to meet Nina? Lynn hadn't noticed in the slightest that she herself was singing, until her soft voice reached her own ears, and Kiba's whisper followed. Flushing softly, she continued with the verse anyway; he didn't seem to mind. As it was, it seemed to take his sadness away. For reasons unexplained, Lynn was very grateful for this fact, even though she stopped abruptly in embarassment once she realized she was doing it; flushing at his comment. "Th-thank you, Kiba..." She smiled at him and lashed her tail, nudging him under the chin softly in thanks. He seemed in his own world for a moment, but it wasn't the sad world he was in before her song. Once again, Kiba had brought a smile to her lips, and she replied with, "Thank you... a lot of others have said that as well. Even Mesk.." Meskhenet was the meanest of the Moonlit in Stalker's room; or at least, Lynn thought she was the scariest. Even if she had been there to help Nina be saved. "She can't sleep without my song, though...so I suppose, you're right." She pulled back a little as he walked forward, nodding at him with a warm smile, and smiling eyes as he cleared her path. After it was clear and she was at his side again, she slowed to a stop, and sat down, a serious air coming about her. "It's not that I don't think she'll like you, Kiba." She explained, "She just...doesn't like strangers. There's..something I need to tell you." Her voice was serious as she tipped her head at him. "Last christmas. Do you remember what happened? Those puppies that got napped? Nina was one of them..." Her eyes trembled as she rememberd it. "After we got her, I starting singing, to calm her down...but I'm sure that didn't take away the trauma."

Giving off a soft growl of appreciation at the nudge, Kiba twisted his neck and his muzzle through the fur of her neck appreciably. He has noticed her reaction to his worry, and was glad that the her soft melody had pulled her-and him-out of it. "Hn." Nodding with a small smile, he let his mind wonder briefly as to who exactly this Mesk was, was this wolf special to Lynn as well? Keeping his tail swaying gently back and forth behind him, Kiba glanced over at Lynn briefly as she spoke of the pup he was to meet before returning his golden gaze forward. They were close to the big house, giving a twitch of his nose as the strange scents of so many wolves filled it, he missed when Lynn stopped. Moving only a few steps before hearing her voice resume behind him, Kiba froze and turned to look at the stitched wolf sitting with a strange expression on. Ears forward he kept his steady gaze on her. Pup napping? Glancing away his brows pulled together as he tried to remember such an incident. Though of course he wouldn't, Lynn was the first contact he had with another wolf after he came to this 'paradise'. "I.. I don't." He murmured under his breath, as he walked back to her and touched the tip of his nose to hers. "I didn't know about this incident.." He was at a loss of what to say. Shifting to a sit, he drew his nose away and glanced off in the direction of the house, wrapping his tail around himself as a chilled wind drew through the trees. "I'm sorry this happen to her. I will try to be.." What? Bright, playful? "..warm to her." Ears pressing back once more, a flash of worry crossed his eyes before he covered it up. Could he be more then he was? Was this right? He had never been around many pups before, would he be able to get her to like him. Looking back at Lynn with his bright golden eyes, Kiba gave a soft nod. He'd at least try for her..

The sudden affection was a little startling, but it made the aquamarine patch-work wolf smile brightly nonetheless. It was true that Lynn never really socialized much with many of the wolves in Stalker’s room, but she at least appreciated the companionship and kindness that the others all held for her, even if it was minimal, it was nice. She was faintly stunned to hear that he hadn’t heard of Morgra and her attempt at stealing Christmas, but soon made out that he, like so many others living outside of the house, had never heard of it, and it wasn’t so uncommon. Another wave of confusion and concern washed over her when their noses touched, but again, she smiled. “Don’t worry about it, then..” she called to him gently, though when he sat and took his gaze away, she followed, wanting to keep their noses touching. A shudder ran through her spine while the cold breeze chilled her, causing her to bounce jerkily and break their nose contact. An urge to pad forward and cuddle into him overtook Lynn, but she pushed it away for the moment, and shook her head, another smile upon her lips. “She’ll like you. I just thought…you should know, in case…” In case it was brought up? That was rather silly, since she, Mesk, or Nina would never bring it up, and he hadn’t even heard about the event until just now. What then? She abandoned that sentence, continuing with, “so you understand her a bit better.” Flashing another brief smile, she walked a little ways to stand beside him, “thank you, Kiba.” She was glad he was so willing to try for her fosterling, and so pretended not to notice his short-lived worry, to spare him from thinking she’d noticed. “…Shall we go then?” with another swish of her tail, she waited for him to stand

Golden eyes noticing the slight start at his affection, Kiba decided to pull back on his advance, perhaps he was getting to comfortable with this wolf. Not answering her smile with one of his own right away, Kiba frowned when the wind chilled her so much she visibly shivered. They should get inside before the temperature dropped any further. Moving to stand, he paused when she began to speak and simply listened to her words trying to work out her forgotten sentences. In case what? Ear twitching lightly he turned his gaze away from Lynn a smile showing showing up on his muzzle. "I hope you're right." He murmured in response to her belief that the young pup would like him. Tail giving a slow swipe over the ground behind him, Kiba gave a nod when she made for the house. Rising up beside her, he eyed the distance from the edge of the woods to the large structure up ahead. Beginning to move with her Kiba kept his gaze scanning the area around them lest a human decide to show up. Though he wish to meet this young pup, the wolf hoped to keep his interaction with the humans as minimal as possible. Glancing at her out of the corner of his eyes, he kept his smile on his maw. "..What's it like living in the house?" He questioned lightly, trying to keep the silence and his nerves away.

.

Appreciative of the silence, Lynn was surprised to find that it was peaceful, and not awkward. She felt so comfortable with Kiba, even if it had only been that same day that she had encountered him. The smile fell from her lips with the thought. She didn’t want to be hurt again. As much as she wanted to trust him, and not feel bitter about her past, she just..didn’t know. Her crimson gaze dropped to the ground, her stony expression that of deep thought and concentration. What if he hurt Nina? Casting him a suspicious sideways glance, the tension drained from her shoulders, and a small bulge of guilt filled her chest. Kiba, hurt Nina? The wolf who was so concerned about the opinion of a puppy? No…that wouldn’t happen, and neither would him hurting Lynn. She had been about to pad closer and nuzzle her head under his when his question made her stop cold and stare at him, ears flicking a few times to make sure she heard right. That’s a…rather odd question. But then of course it dawned on her again that he wouldn’t know, living in the beautiful wilderness, “Well…It’s kinda nice, I suppose. I don’t really know how to describe it. Nothing like out here. It’s actually…kind of boring. Though the other Moonlit are nice, having them around at least. It’s bland.” She concluded, “But I never really thought about it before now…” for a moment she had a questioning look on his face, as though she were going to ask him something, but turned her head away shyly, thinking better of the idea. “What’s it like…living out here?” while Lynn thought she already knew the answer to this question, it was apparent that he wished to keep the conversation going, and she was happy to oblige if it meant hearing his voice and keeping him from unease. Warmth radiated from the house with a golden light, and Lynn’s face lit up at the opportunity to escape the cold.
