I agree with a lot of the people when they say it doesnt matter. Honestly, its like saying do you look good with a skirt on if you are tall or short. Not really; actually, it depends on the legs lol. you may be the cutest short person alive but if you have elephant legs... and you dont make it look appealing, then it wont look good.
When it comes down to it, its just how you put yourself together.

I feel the same about this as I do in the fat vs. skinny loli debate --- it doesn't matter, so long as the clothes look good on her. Not everyone looks good in everything, so finding what looks good on you is all that really matters.

i support cupcakes...I don't think size matters; it's just because Asians tend to be petite and small in size. If Asians [lolitas] were tall and average size, and Americans were short and petite, would you want to be tall and average sized just to be a lolita? and eating them =]

I'm 5'7" and have the fun measurments of 44/39/51. And loli clothes look fine on me. Plus sized girls can wear lolita, but only if they know how to make it work with your bodyshape. If you have a big bust, you might want to have a little lace there. If you have an anorexic hourglass like me, cinch in the waist! Heck, I dont even need to wear a petticoat half the time! Anyways, tall lolitas are cute too.

Scmplvzme I'm really short....4'11....so i cant really say i understand but i think tall lolitas are also pretty aw, we're the same height heart though I think I shrunk an inch if I remember correctly XD; and I'm eighteen years old, so i guess I won't be growing anymore. Anyway, models are relatively short because Lolita, the word itself...and the fashion, it has to do with young girls, right? The clothing, I mean and the whole style. So to fit with that definition, it seems right to have petite models. I'm actually surprised...you know, I wanted to be a model to make some money on the side, and its really hard because I'm so small. Its like, well atleast in the US, it is a MUST for the models to be tall and thin. And for Lolita models, petite and thin. If only there was Lolita models needed in the US ;-; And for actual people who wear Lolita, not just the models you see, tall girls can pull off Lolita too. I think Plus-sized girls can pull it off as well, they just need to wear what will suit their body shape. Hell, I think that can go for everyone. Like for instance, very tall and skinny people can pull off those tight jeans. I for one, cannot. XD Not because I'm overweight, but because I'm short, and I'm not very boney. It would just..not flatter me at all.

Well, I mean, If you were tall and had an hourglass figure in europe and are not as bony as some of us asian girls, youd be considered wealthy. I mean I think a lot of people who look up european history know this.
Anyways, I know what you mean about the whole asian stereotype thing. I may be only 5' 1" but believe it or not, sometimes i come up with the challenge of a girl who is 4' 9" and is uber skinnier and guys think shes hot.
I dunno... that kinds scares me, *****? Nah.
Also, there are times where girls are taller like 5'5" and very pretty and toned,
I think girls in general have competition at other levels with their body type.
Its not just being skinny.
In the end jsut remember that its how you bring yourself. An outfit can look cute on you, but if you dont have the confidence to show off what you have (in a good way), then its no good.
Oh gawd, i just started ranting about again -_-
Okay, um to sum things up, height and width doesnt matter. Its just how you dress yourself (in proportion, or to esentuate the body), and how you present yourself ot others (personality).
Actually in life the way you dress shouldnt matter but it does to some extent, but in the long run its all about how YOU feel about yourself!

i once went shopping in london in the goth fashion district coz they have quite a few loli shops there and i tried on a corset in one of the other goth shops with a loli and for my age im quite hourglass too. the look on my bf and the shop assistants face told me that they didnt seem to think hourglass with loli was bad! i personaly felt the most beautiful i have in my entire life at that moment, i love corsets!! i think it doesnt matter, you can put your own twist in it, just because your following a fashion doesnt mean you have to follow the stereotype and be like everyone else, as i quote from xxxHolic: 'the world is what you make it, you create your own world' (not an exact quote but something like that)

I'm about 5'1'' and about 105 lbs. I'm small and petite. But I dont think lolita is focused on girls my size, at least. Because every dress I've ordered has fit like a sack unless it ties in the back, and comes one to three inches below my knees =/ my friend is curvy and a few inches taller than me and she pulls off my dresses better than I do T.T which is why I make my own.
