Just as Yo-ko predicted, She shifted her attack twords him. Sometimes, giving the illusion of falling for something was the best way to lead the opponent in the direction you wanted. Yo-ko had the idea that she was an "in-control fighter" meaning she always wanted to be an the dominant position. In many ways, it was the most efficient style of combat. However, it was also the most known style of combat, making it very recognizable. Being a free formed combatant, Yo-ko could udjust his fighting style flaulessly when needed. She wanted ground, then she would get ground.

Sometimes the best way to move the opponent in the direction you wanted was to put them in a different location then originally intended. Then once the commit to resistance in that move, you put them back where you want them. That was the case for this move. The crescent kick was, in its own right, a very powerful attack. It was also a very great set up for one of Yo-ko's favorite moves. using her momentum in too him to his advantage, again, Yo-ko let his crescent kick leg simply attach across her waiste. falling back with her, but shifting his hips away from her at the moment of impact. Connecting his hip to her hip, he swung his other leg around while attaching his upward arm around hers in a Kani-bassami throw (I hope i spelled it right. It means crab leg scissor takedown). Using the momentum as the both fell, as well as his position of the throw, once they landed yo-ko threw a powerful right elbow at he mandible (underchin) as his set up for moving for a mount, keeping his hips low as to not get re-rolled. Yet she still could, she just had to find a way.

What made this all the better, was this was all Yo-ko's original intention. Ground battle was probably his best thing. And like always, He was underestimated. Yet not in the sense that she thought. All Of Yo-ko's original plan started with a touch. Once Yo-ko made contact with a living thing, His body uncounsciously laid many, many seals using his spiritual signature. Now was when playing was over. Phase one complete....

The battle still had a ways to go to find a victor. Both where well trained Kitsune. What made the battle interesting was the different mental views, philisophical views, and just straight differences between the two. This showed that the kitsune came in many different ways, allowing them to cover for the many weaknesses they could have. What made these two simple stand out above the rest was there awarness and compensation for the weaknesses they had. Once one trained for many years, even weaknesses became strengths.

She had expected his attention to detail to be significantly better than he was showing it to be. Probably some other lowly trick of his. No matter.

That he managed to get his foot up might have been considered a blessing, and his ability to improvise was decent, but he had forgotten the basic stance of Marionette Style was to present oneself as being nearly completely limp. As his leg attempted to wrap itself around her waist, he would realize this, but all too late. Her arms, which were at her waist like dead things hanging from her shoulders, came to life immediately and took hold of his leg, the left hand reaching up and taking hold of his ankle while the right planted itself on his upper thigh, both hands driving her nails into his flesh. Not only was his kick neutralized, but she was now standing outside of him, making the entire other side of his body virtually useless against her.

Her weight shifted yet again and her center of gravity lowered as her legs held firm to the ground, negating any effort on his part to twist, and then her body appeared to go rigid as it continued downward, her left arm rising and her right bearing down. With his leg now captive and suspended over his own center, Yo-ko pretty much had to accept the fall and make the best of it during his recovery. It was either that or he could use one of his many tricks to weasel out of it, but if her nails were any indication, her grip was firm and any attempt to jerk would lead to a tearing of flesh.

Yo-ko's eyes picked up her movement. Like a trained combatant, she knew to enter when the going got tough rather then retreat. People her retreated seldom won a battle. Her reaction made Yo-ko fell all the better, now knowing that this battle was going to be "close, close" combat as his father used to explain it. Those kinds of battles, if they involved trained people, usually got very bloody and deadly very fast.

Yo-ko felt the pinch of nails grab into his leg. His body wanted to twinge in the slight pain, but his brain was happy. His opponent was well trained in this art of combat. However, to Yo-ko's advatnage, she was not aware of the duality of the grab. The grab made a connection from person to person. Just because someone initiated the grab, didn't always mean that they where in conrol. So many things could happen because the other person also knew where they where. Hence the duality: You may know where they are, but so do they know where you are.

Allowing his butt to fall to the ground into a "break fall" position, the dredlocked kitsune eliminated any damage done by the ladys take down. Using her own grab, Yo-ko pulled in his legs, closing the distance and dragging her along with it. Shifting his hips into her, He shot a powerful left elbow for her temple. Slingshotting his hips in the other direction while returning his elbowing arm back to guard, He shot a right punch right for the "adam's apple" area of her neck.

Keeping his knees inbetween her and him in a butterfly like guard, Yo-ko could begin his plan anew with confidence. Her was controlling the match now, if she knew it or not.

When you assume...

Red's intent was apparently not nearly as laced with a burning desire to grapple as Yo-ko must have assumed it to be. Although she considered momentarily applying an unforgivable amount of weight on his testicles, she opted instead for an alternative.

He went down, and she went up. By now, he would probably notice that her center of gravity could shift whether or not her body moved, meaning at any given point her center was located between her head or feet regardless of posture. Again it shifted as her entire body lurched up and away from Yo-ko, her head seeming to have met the force of an oncoming cinder block. No sooner was she relocated, and out of range, did her trajectory shift up, above, and over Yo-ko, her body looking as doll like as before, descending at an incredible rate.

Her form slammed into the ground with tremendous force, most of which was eliminated with a simple roll, but nevertheless she tumbled about like a useless heap of limbs attached to a body before clumsily rising into a stand roughly twenty feet behind Yo-ko.

Theoretically, if Yo-ko got his desire to continue grappling, he'd spend more time right about now hugging his pelvis than holding Red at bay. She didn't necessarily see it that way, but his schemes were starting to irritate her. He was such a static fighter, still clinging to what he thought he knew and what he assumed she knew. She offered control and he denied it, but now he was so sure he had it that a younger Red might have laughed at the thought.

Like always, his opponents never wanted to get there hands dirty. It pushed his buttons that they where such spinelss combatants. Yet she made it this far. No doubt, she had her tricks. So Yo-ko realized that he had to revise his plan and use a skill he would have rather saved. Yet eh, saving stuff never worked if you enver used it.

Instantly, he was attached to her legs. hooking her heel with his lower foot and kicking at her femoral nerve (inside of leg) Yo-ko initiated his attack and take down. pulling with the hooked leg and kicking, Yo-ko began a sort of close line effect on her leg. Yet the way he was angled, He knee could easly get popped out of place, if not broken.

When (if) she fell, yo-ko, already being in position and attatched to her other leg as well, wrapped his arm around the back of her angle and held firm. With the other hand, he grabbed her foot and twisted to the inside in a hassami (scissor) motion. This however was not a lock. This was an attack. She had slipped locks before. This one was done quickly and efficently, making for an easy (hopeful) break. The break could effect as little as the ankle, or as much as the ankle, leg, and knee.

The question most people must be asking was: how did he do it. How did he poof. Well, he had actually done it earlier in the fight. He had placed his shadow seal on her when the first encounter occured. His spiritual signature did it almost automatically. It helps when you train the uncounsious as well. His shadow seal allowed him to "flash" into his selaed persons shadow. Hime being on the floor and already int he position, it was a quick and easy counter to her yield and escape. Opening distance can only work when the opponent can unrelentingly follow now.

Foolish and full of intent. Then again he was some ten years her junior. Whatever little world he imagined himself to be living in at the moment had to be interesting to say the least. Though she had personally not seen his vain attempt to assault her legs, it wouldn't have mattered because, as mentioned in a previous post, she was standing to his outer side. His left leg, which she had released might have tried, but would fail on the basis of his posture alone, let alone the whip like motion with which she projected her body. Similarly, if he had attempted with his right leg, he wouldn't have gotten near close enough without contorting his body in some manner or another, which he failed to specify doing in his previous post.

Be that as it may, he continued with his little assault and had brought things nearly full circle. So much was his intent. As he unveiled his Shadow Seal and assaulted Red with yet another lock, he would feel a splash of water spray his entire body head to toe and what he thought was her ankle would melt under his grasp. How this had happened shouldn't require much explanation. Red had intended to separate knowing he intended to catch her off guard. Therefore, she chose to relocate herself as close to his initial position as possible, assuming he would break with pure melee for some trick or another before too long. When he made use of his Shadow Seal, not only was she expecting it, she had prepared for it, and one of her few water whips had lashed for his future position with such precision that the simple gesture to catch her off guard would fail miserably.

He would remember, as the whip collapsed into a purely formless liquid and cooled him, that she had summoned her giant cloud of steam into a still standing wall of ice on one side of the ring and four water whips to pursue him should he choose to turn tail on his little throw rug. She hadn't gotten rid of them.

If it didn't quite surprise him, that was fine, but he might be interested in figuring out how he had failed to grab a firm hold of her regardless. After all, a spray of water wouldn't exactly make him weaken his grip in any way. To that end, since she had anticipated his actions, she simply altered her molecular composition momentarily, and was free, standing only some three or so feet from him. Skilled warriors could feel intent and knew the difference between sport and malice. Psychic warriors could not only feel intent, but could specify. Yo-ko was a banal fighter to no end and so far had failed to show Red anything original. His plans were well placed, but he'd find it difficult to execute them perfectly.

He would find it interesting though that his vision was a bit hazy if he looked at her. Not only that, but there appeared to be water clogging up his large vulpine ears and trying to rush up his nose and choke him, and should he try to breathe he would indeed choke. He could try to breathe through his mouth, but they'd only open up to more liquid. In fact, a giant sphere of the stuff was just resting over his head like a space helmet.

Chances were, it was actually refreshing for the moment. Having spent all of that energy in a volcano, a bit of water over your head might be nice, but what would happen when he needed to breathe? Yo-ko would not have to worry about this because, if the thought even crossed his mind, he would realize that the pool of water was slowly trickling down his body from his chin up, meaning he'd have access to his mouth, followed by his nose, then his vision would clear up, and finally sound would be restored, all the while his shirt would grow cool, but then dry up as Red no longer seemed interested with what happened after it reached the fabric of his clothing. That, however, would take a moment. She was going to make sure he regained full control of his orifices slowly while the fight continued. Perhaps it would give him time to calm down and assess the situation.

Yo-ko mentally gave out a small sigh. As good of a move as she did, it was not all exactly effective in the sense that she would hope. Yo-ko had forseen a trap ever sense comming into close quaters combat. When she had finally broken away, Yo-ko forsaw that her trap would be sprung. As usual, Yo-ko was right. In fact, he was even more prepared to face it then he had been previously.

Getting to his feet while reaching into his pouch, Yo-ko seemed unphased by the water choking and attacking his senses. Pulling out three umbrella's, Yo-ko throws them into the air. Suddenly, the water around him just dissapeared. Not get sucked away, or fly or poof, just vanished. Forming his hands into one single hand seal, suddenly there where 5 dredlocked kitsune. Once they had appeared, they where on the move to flank her, while speaking.

"Dont you remember just WHO i am, or did you just forget my abilities"

To a certain degree, she had not made a mistake. In fact, few people other then Yo-ko knew that this trick existed or was even possible. Once the water had touched him, Yo-ko had just used his spiritual signature to seal away the water into one of the many seals he had placed on himself. In fact, there where many of these that held different things. One of them was about to be unleahsed. in many respects, the actually sealing technique was alot like sealing the body's energy gates. Although, it was alot different as well. There was no natural source of rei in this source, so the energy just got dissipated into the air, adding a little extra energy to the natural source in the volcano.

The five Yo-ko's placed themselves in a pentagon formation around the lady fox. Together, they formed the fingers into another single seal. In a rush of purple flame, the four man purple flame prison array was formed. Yet that could be taken as more of a blessing twords her then it was pain: had there not been the three umbrella's stuck in their with her. The Umbrella's then spun at a very high rate, unleashing 300 needles each wrapped in an explosion note. Like missles, they all began to fall apon here. Due to the flame array, escape would be difficult.

A good, true, martial artest was aware of their surroundings. If She tried to use her water whips and tricks, he had other plans for them. The area surrounding one of the Yo-ko's got a lot darker and blacker as the needles zoomed in on there target.

Honestly, she was impressed that he finally started doing something original. Though it was upsetting that she could not take out those precious eyes of his – such was the purpose of the sphere of water around his head – she did not think it would actually work. It was merely an opportunity that presented itself. Catching his intent before his actions, Red thought to herself how sad it would be if a true fighter actually stood still long enough for their opponent to pull off such a time consuming assault; which she would not do upon seeing him create not one, but four clones. Common sense would tell her to take evasive actions.

She did so simply by commanding the water whips to more or less explode, producing liquid projectiles that would rain down on him ruthlessly. Each tiny missile not immediately heading toward the general direction of Yo-ko would change trajectory for him or the nearest clone, passing by – or even possibly through – Red if necessary. Her timing of course was about as impeccable as ever. Yo-ko wasted great deals of time planning and then acting. It was a wonder he made it this far. She should have just taken out his eyes while he was reaching into his pouch. Another opportunity to strike presented itself when he tossed his umbrellas, and again when he took his time to seal a handful of water, although that proved wiser than he probably knew. Nevertheless, he was much too headstrong. He then required more time still to perform his clone technique, one of several in his arsenal, which would require a gathering and distribution of his prana. It would then take even more time to flank Red, create a nigh impenetrable four man wall, and finally, after all of that, send his umbrella needles after her.

Red decided to wait for the moment he moved to produce the clone seal. At this point the whips would explode and a barrage of super-cooled water bullets would fly at him, raining straight past their creator toward her intended victim. To perform a ‘jutsu’ the user generally had to remain idle, though not necessarily stationary. Had he decided to leap back first or something to that degree, he would have increased his reaction time, but instead he was so sure of himself as to stand still. Unfortunately, this meant his clones would barely have enough time to gasp let alone prepare a defense before the first of countless missiles fired into them. For safety’s sake, she ensured that all projectiles that would only cut into and through their targets if it would not endanger the functionality of any vital organs. Otherwise, they would just splash against the body. There were rules to adhere to after all. Even if he managed to avoid death, she could still be disqualified for trying to kill him. Still, he would have enough to worry about with water missiles no more than fractions of inches from his eyes, ears, groin, and otherwise completely exposed body immediately after performing a clone technique.

All considered it was basically her way of saying ‘too slow.’ Her rain of needles did not require her to do anything but designate a target. Yo-ko had to make an elaborate performance for his. Her simple gesture, though it admittedly took some four paragraphs to explain, would interrupt his flanking, his execution of the barrier, his belated attempt to assault, and whatever sinister technique he thought he’d get a spare moment to work on next. All told, she made one move and interrupted four of his. Trifling though the victory was, simplicity had its advantages.
