Syrette So, I was a tad bit annoyed when I read that, but not for the reasons people have posted.
Her response could have been a bit more professional instead of this baaaawwww-fest announcement. Yes, a leak happen and leaks happen to the best of authors. It's a human mistake. (But then again, Meyer's "anti-human" so maybe that's why she whined...) Instead of being "Wah, I'm just not gonna write no more since my emotions affect my writing so much and I don't plan", she could've persevered like a strong writer would and completed the book. It was just a manuscript. It's not like the actual book. :/ Things would have to change so it would be "infintely superior" like she said the final draft would be. But no. She can't live up to her own words and posted the draft on her website and decided not to write it.
The ONLY thing that's going to come out of this postpone is disgruntled fans. The illegal jerks who posted it online in the first place probably don't give a rat's a** about Meyer. Her fans, on the other hand, actual care and wanted to read it.
So basically, Meyer unknowingly punished her fans who are giving the money she has today. Way to go. I agree. I've been waiting a long time for this and now...I don't know that I want to even bother looking to see if she'll actually change her mind. This is crappy.

And didn't full manuscripts of the 7th Harry Potter book get leaked illegally? I'm sure J.K Rowling(sp?) was upset about that, but she released her book.
I'm still convinced it's some sort of publicity stunt and the reason it's posted is to give fans a taste of what's to come. It's all about the money, like most other things.

So basically, Meyer unknowingly punished her fans who are giving the money she has today. Way to go. She is upset. Nothing you say will change that. It's not her fault it was leaked. Maybe she could have "persevered like a strong writer would and completed the book" but since she is upset it probably wouldn't be anywhere near as good as it could be. I would rather just have part of the book than have the whole thing but with the second half really crappy. Also, it is not yet set in stone whether she will finish it or not. Maybe she will finish it, but not for a while. Maybe in a few months or even a year, she will not be upset any more and will be able to finish it. Maybe not. We'll see what happens. If I were in the same situation, I would be upset, too. Something that she has been working on for most likely at least a few months has been ruined. Give her some time. She at least deserves that much.i totaly agree with you but all the crazy fans (ME!!!) cant wait... THEY DONT HAVE THE TIME TO WAIT!!! so stephanie better get her emotions streight or her fans will get pissed off and stop reading her books altogerther (i whould never do that!!)
