Little Rachael Of course it would be fake. There's no such thing as Bigfoot. But it's not even a well done hoax! And it made national ******** news!

Matasoga But it's not even a well done hoax! And it made national ******** news! The sad thing is, I sounded so presumptuous in my last post because a little part of me thought--and hoped--it might be true. sweatdrop

It's not uncommon to hope for just a touch of the fantastic in our daily lives. Such a thing would certainly be a scientific breakthrough, among other things. I suppose we all hoped a little...Which might be one contributing factor to allow it to get this much press.

I don't really know what to think about all of this. I mean, I remember hearing about the DNA tests coming back as human (much like how a chimpanzee's DNA is almost indistinguishable from a human's) and they found opossum DNA in it's digestive track. Where did this info come from if the remains aren't real?
I also don't see how a cop on sick-leave would put everything on the line with the remains, considering he had to have known damned well tests were going to be done on them. He would have to be absolutely starving for attention if he's willing to show his face on national television for a hoax. I'd die of shame. x ,x

It should help answer some of these. Money did play a factor, though.

It could have made international news. As it is, though, I wouldn't have heard of it at all if this thread wasn't here.

Has anyone else outside of the States heard of this?

This was a highly disappointing incident, I've never really believed in big foot, but it would have been interesting to see that something like this existed.

Now that the story is old, and no light has been shed on it, I think it would have been really cool if something like that could have been found. Humans are fantastic hunters, yes, but who is to say that there isn't something that is just more skilled at hiding from us? While I don't believe "Bigfoot" itself exists, I do think that there might be something out there more than what we've seen. And maybe, one day, we will have some luck and find something new. <3

It is beyond unlikely that any of them is this close to human.
