Mmm, I think it'd be cool if he could do that. Maybe it'd put a stop to all the retarded "Aang has to repopulate the air nomads by having sex with tons of women" plot that a ton of fanfics have.
But I'm kinda iffy on it. I mean, he can bend energy that's there, but I don't think he'd be able to put energy into someone that doesn't have it, you know?

Somehow, I don't think Aang could have taken away bending from the Fire Lord unless he had met up with that turtle-lion. And, it was probably only a one time thing; he can't do it again.
Also, giving normal people bending would destroy the balance of the Avatar world. They were born normal people because they had to be normal. Benders were born benders because they had to be benders. (I know, redundant, but it still makes a point.) If everyone in the Gaang had been benders, things would be different, and probably easier. Being a non-bender opens you up to more potential elsewhere (Sokka and his sword).

I disagree, I don't think it was a one time thing. The Turtle Lion stated that before they people bent the elements they bent the energy inside themselves, which insinuates that he has the ability to do it again.

I'm not disagreeing, I'm just not understanding what you said. (Probably because I couldn't understand the turtle-lion in the episode.) How would bending energy inside him allow him to give people bending? The only bending I could see Aang giving is firebending, and only because he took it away. (Now, of course, this hypothesis infers that Aang has some random bending-ability floating around inside his body, which doesn't even make sense.) sweatdrop

Per the show’s constant references to Eastern religions and cultures: We each have energy inside of us, each and every one of us. The Turtle-Lion states that we bent that energy. Since Aang now has the ability to Energybend, it makes sense that he could manipulate the energy inside someone in such a way that it would give them the ability to bend. From Avatar Wiki: Quote: Energybending Aang is also able to use an ancient form of bending called Energybending, which he used to strip Ozai of his bending, leaving him permanently drained and in a state of weakness. According to Lion Turtle, before the Avatar existed, people didn't bend the elements, but the energy within themselves. However, in order to bend another's energy, the benders own spirit must be unbendable, or they can be corrupted and destroyed. It has been confirmed that Aang is not the first Avatar to learn Energybending. There have been others. However, there are few who have learned this bending and even fewer who have used it due to its dangers.

I dont know what their going to do in the movie or what going to happen to the airbenders, but it would be cool if aang could give other people the bending powers. Everybody has the energy inside it just has to be unlocked. If he can take something away, he has to be a ble to give it back or the fact that Avatar is based on balance would be wrong.
