does anyone else think that Matt had a bit too small of a role? also i want to pose a question, what would any of you do if you were in lights position and found a death note

Without a doubt my favorite character definately has to be Ryuuk!!! He's the best man. I LOVE his apple withdrawl symptoms. So funny. I was laughing my head off the whole time he was in that phase. Twas great.
Though L does come in close second. I love the way he acts the first time he meets Misa. So funny! Deathnote is definately my FAV anime! And I'm working on collecting all the manga too.

When I first saw the manga, I read the synopsis on the back and thought it would be boring. Bear in mind, the synopsis did not mention Ryuuk, and did not say that L was so freakin' awesome. So, what really gets me about Death Note is when I read in a Anime Insider that they named Light villain of the year... that was the first time I'd actually thought of him as a villain. It made me think, how crafty and insidious can a story be when you root for the villain and don't even realize he's the bad guy?

SPOILER!!!!: My favourite character has to be Mello! I love his backstory and his constant need to compete with everyone. Especially Near. He's the more gung-ho of the heirs and who couldn't laugh when they found his secret hideout because of all the empty chocolate boxes outside.

Sagesrage best character is L. *spoiler* hate it though when N takes over, even if he does get it right at the end SPOILER!!! Well, technically Light outsmarts him in every way. If it wasn't for Mello going Kamakaze Light probably would have won in the end. It's funny how it turned out though. Mello spent the entire series saying "I won't help Near!" "I hate Near!" I'll beat Near no matter what!" And then he goes and gives his life so that he could save Near and help him catch Kira. Like Near said. Light outsmarted L. And as L was greater than both Near and Mello they had no hope of stopping Kira alone. But together they rose above both Light and L. That and Mikami was a little over enthusiastic in helping "God".

Hakyoku Inmetsu i'm sorry to say guys but death note is a little over-rated anyway (back on topic sweatdrop ) my favorite's got to be L I agree. It's popularity got WAY out of hand. You only have to check the Avi arenas to see that (Every day there's a new L Avi). It's weird. I was reading it back in 2006 and no one even seemed interested in it. Suddenly... BOOM!! It's everywhere...
