Hm...my first jazz band called themselves the Deep-Fried Starfish. Yeah...the second one was christened the Rockets by Don Hough, the head of the Tennessee Trombonery. The one I play in now's just the WSCC jazz band...just a bunch of old people then a few highschoolers.

But you can't get any cooler than Bela Fleck and the Flecktones...whose concert is on January 25 or 26...I forget...but I'm looking forward to it.

MHHornfreak kila_chan The pride and joy of our school are called the Midnight Riders (4 piece combo). They did a rap piece at the club last week xd It was sweet. Rap piece? wow I know. Someone recorded it, I'll make an attempt to find it.

My 17 piece big band in Melbourne is called Sidebeat. The other group I play in, the fusion jazz ensemble, is called Rewired. Personally, I think they're pretty cool names. mrgreen

My original idea was to start a punk band. We might end up doing ska. But now they wanna play jazz. I'm cool with it.
Might call it.....eh.....need some suggestions from people.

Heh.. we have a 22 piece jazz band and we are either EJE or the Gothic Band... because we always wear black for gigs...

Since there's a possibility that my combo might be breaking up, I'm considering trying to form my own with who I can salvage.
I'm definitely pushing for the the name "Rendon, or Renkai."
I forget which one it is I want, but it's Japanese for "combo." I remember playing a nontranslated fighting game with my friend. Whenever one of us would pull off a combo some guy in the background would shout "Rendon" and it would flash on the screen.
Or maybe it was "Renkai;" I forget...

Our scholl just has:
Jazz 1 - elite jazz band (I'm in that one)
Jazz 2 - still awesome but mostly made up of grade 10's
Jazz 3 - kind of a pathetic band, no auditions
Combo 1 - A small combo
Combo 2 - Another small combo
And these are the bands outside of school that I'm in:
RuffKut - A Jazz-ish, 60s 70s rock band
Showcase 6 - Our primary band. We play all jazz in some form or another, but if someone has a score we'll play it if it sounds cool. Right now I'm transcribing Slam by Pendulum (TECHNO WTF?) for the band to play
