I sure did! I was pleased... until the end. gonk spoilers -> The movie was all indyish and so on, but the aliens? I know that the 50's was all about ufos, nuclear bombs and all that, but still I don't think that was ... fitting.
The nuclear bomb scene was hilarious. My god, a fridge? XD Genious.
I must agree with Shadow__Dweller, I didn't like the idea Mutt being Indy's son. Well, it was kind of obvious from the second he showed up. AND the wedding? No, just no. Also, Marion was useless. :/ AND. I didn't like the fact that Marcus had died. D8
Well, at least it didn't lack the characteristic humour the Indy movies have! There could've been a bit more something... excitement? Also, didn't they say they'd use as less CG as they could? Was it just me or did anyone else notice cg all over the movie? :< But they used a miniature at least once! Or I think it was.
There were many good things as there were bad things, but I can say I liked it. It'll never beat its predecessors, though.

I loved the movie to death! Boy did I ever love it. I'm seeing it a second time tomorrow! lol. I liked Mutt being Indy's son and all The wedding did bother me a lot though... HF and his bow ties in that movie! GAH! Hate bow ties! I LOVED the I Like Ike line! I fell out of my seat laughing. To be fair... Lucas warned us all from the get go that it was going to be different. I went in with an open mind and boy was I rewarded! LOVED IT!

I agree with you all the way 3nodding I don't think I liked him being his son becaus the idea is too "the perfect family"..it's cheesy..I always think it is when they include sons in action movies..it's the same with The Mummy. I think the wedding pushed it over the top. Did they need to show it?? I mean, yeah ok make him love her again..and let them be together, but did they need to have a wedding at the end? I don't think it was a good thing to end a movie with...all happily ever after. I didn't like Marian being useless. She didn't do anything through the movie apart from follow Indy around. Marian was such a strong, fiesty character..and I know she's older but she could have done SOMETHING! She did fall in love with Indy rather easily, considering he left her before they got married. I certainly wouldn't get back with a man who couldn't handle it in the first place. The actor who played Marcus died, so that's why they decided to put it like that in the film I think. Overall I just thought it was flat and dull, with little excitement or peril or tension. Everything that happened was obvious..nothing was a surprise...and it was just too silly..even the action was silly..and there is a difference between humorous and silly..and this was silly. I knew it was going to be very different than the first ones, because I'd heard George Lucas say it..so I went in there with an open mind, but after the first ten minutes I knew the film wasn't going to live up to what I wanted it to be. I liked the beginning, I liked the differences in Indy's age..and how it affected him. But I'd heard critics say "the first ten minutes is brilliant"..and I just felt that it wasn't. So I thought "if that was supposed to be brilliant..then what's the rest going to be like". I can see why alot of people love it, but I can see why alot don't like it too.

I read an article on raider.net and here are some of the things I agree with...the writer says it better than I could..
"However, like an inconsistent river, exposition is appropriately deep in the beginning but begins to ebb noticeably in other sections of the film, sometimes leaving the audience to fend for itself and Indy to fight on without an evenly evolving story...
...The action in the film is in the vein of Temple of Doom more than any other installment, with some amazingly epic set pieces and rapid, visceral sequences. However, director Steven Spielberg and creator George Lucas have clearly become self-indulgent in their old age. There are a handful of “winceworthy” moments in the film that they must have said, “That would be fun,” and dropped into the story. Thankfully, these are very, very few, but it would have been better to leave them on the cutting room floor...
...all three of its sequels reinvented the character in a new direction that focused more on humor and comic book or pulp style action instead of Raiders' gritty realism and dramatic tension. Now, we truly have an “Indiana Jones Trilogy” that just happens to come after a movie called Raiders of the Lost Ark...."
I think he voices everything I think about the film. I feel that Lucas decided some things about the story and action and thought "oh yeah that would be fun"...but in effect, it really makes you wince..it's very comic-booky.. Although he says Last Crusade shares the humour and comic book action, I agree to a certain extent but I believe it's a very good film, and just as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I liked the idea after it worked out and it's not the perfect family idea. If they make another movie you'll see. I mean good lord, Indy is 65 he deserves it. I loved the way it was done.

I liked the movie. It's the second best one in the series, besides Last Crusade. Spoilers: I hated the fact that they killed off Sean Connery's character, though. Also, it's not going to be the perfect family. They're all headstrong and stubborn {Mutt included}. That's going to make for some interesting arguements in the next movie {and you know that there's going to be one because after that shot where the wind blows the doors open and the hat and all}.
Also, the neuclar {sp?} bomb part was funny. I thought that it was classic Indy.

I don't know many men who's parents are alive when they are 65. lol. I did miss him though. He and HF made a great comedy team.

Indy was only supposed to be ten years older I think? but he certainly looks more than ten years older than he's "supposed" to.

George Lucas said that from the beginning. They wern't about to pretend Harrison hadn't aged becaus lets face it he has. They made them the same age and carried the story later making it make more sence.
