"Just try to leave without me, and I'll track you down..." He'll give a feral grin, and stretch a bit. "And we all change my friend. I am nothing like what I was when you left. I've learned new things, and think differently than back then, also."
He'll sit on his stump and draw a dagger out of a hidden pocket. Tumbling it over his fingers, he'll look up. "I've been walking darker paths, paths few will travel. But sometimes to protect those you love, you have to sacrifice yourself. We all change, we just have to change for the better."

 Shina's all to aware of what sacrifice means, but she's never wanted such to be experienced by others, much less those she loves. Yet it's what her Father calls for from his children, is it not? She cannot bring herself to mourn the man Silver once was. Yes, he's changed, but he'll always have a part of him that will ever be the same young man she first met, long ago. The young man who was given new life through the Lord's power channeled by her, one of the Father's Angels of Rebirth.
"I wouldn't dream of it, my friend. It'd be far too much trouble to try and outdistance you. I'd collapse into a weary heap and you'd find me anyway." Her slight grin enhances the tease, nearly enough to hide the concern that twines its way about her heart at his admittance of slipping from the way she'd hoped he'd found again. "There are some things that we are never meant to sacrifice, Silver. Will you tell me of these paths you've come to tread?"

"To me, I have very little I won't sacrifice." He'll slip the dagger away, and shrug. "I have walked the path of the silent killer. I have slain those that showed unhealthy interest in the fa'e. I have fought with and lost to demons, and carried their foul taint upon my soul. I have fought the darkness inside of me, and at the same time embraced it, because it gives a strength that is sometimes needed."
He'll lift his hand, and remove the eyepatch, revealing the liquid silver orb that floated in the socket, and gave a grim smile. "I've come to the point where I would do anything to protect those I care for, and have sworn to protect. I have learned some of the truth behind ari, and the reason we have come back into being, and if she calls in her oath in a certain way, I will be marked an oathbreaker, for it would go against what little honor I have left to follow it."
