John blinked and turned back to her. "Fight? Who on earth would you fight?" He looked a bit incredulously at her and blinked. "And WHY?"

"Well... I don't know...we've got powers... and I though we were supposed to stop those two from causing more destruction." She replied carefully then frowned. "I don't really want to fight but... I figured that was what the training was for. Forgive me... its to help me control my powers, right?"

"Are you DAFT?" John burst out, looking quite shocked at her. "Take on THEM? What--" he protested, "Do we LOOK like we're those government heroes? If you want heroism, go to them! Honestly girl, get some sense in you! There is NO way we could even lift a finger at them! And WHY would training equal fighting?! You train to get a good control over your powers, so that they do not dominate you but that you dominate them! This is about surviving and dealing and about getting your act together!" He gave her an odd look and then shook his head and turned back to the front. "Honestly," he muttered. "Hold on," he told her curtly over his shoulder and then revved up the bike before she could protest much.
They arrived sooner than they had taken to arrive and John waited until she had gotten off before he escorted her to the frontdoor. He didn't say much, appeared to be brooding, mostly. It was Clarence himself that opened the door this time. He was a short man, 5'5" and looked a bit nerdy
"Ah, Johnny!" He exclaimed and then turned to Trinity, "And you must be miss Michaels! Welcome, welcome, come in, come in." He waited until John had already stomped past him, hurrying in ahead of Trinity and ushered her to the kitchen. "It's a pleasure to finally see you. You've already met my wife, haven't you?"
"Indeed, I have!" Deb jumped in delight at seeing Trinity and John again. "Welcome back, dear! Would you like a few more cookies? My applie pie is ready!" And indeed it was, sitting proudly in the window sill. A black cat jumped down from somewhere and rubbed past Trinity's legs before it went over to John to be petted.
"Ah Deb, no time, no time," Clarence apologised them. "I'd like to have a talk with you, Trinity, if you don't mind?" he asked her.

Trinity ducked her head and winced as he berated her. She had really made him angry. She hadn't meant to. She opened her mouth to apologize but was cut off by the engine. The only reason she'd even asked was to make sure that they weren't going to. Her arms tightened in a makeshift apology.
The girl mimicked his silence as they arrived then returned to her smiling self when Clarence appeared at the door. Once they reached to the kitchen she gave a smile at Clarence and nodded. "I don't mind..." She answered his question then smiled at Deb. "Maybe some other time? Thank you for offering..."

"Alright dear," Deb smiled, "Good luck!" she told her heartfelt.
Clarence nodded, "Excellent, this way, please. He escorted Trinity through the corridor, down the stairs into a very roomy basement, which was obviously used as some form of training room. There were plenty of excersise machines, weightlifting and other fitness-type things to practice. There were also several odd devices scattered on the wall, that Trinity wouldn't have encountered before.
Clarence kept on going while he pointed out a few things and explained the functions of some of the excersise machines as they passed them until they reached another door and went through it.
Amazingly enough, this room was also quite big, which revealed that the basement probably expanded until far past the house. This second room was a sort of living room, combined with a computer room. There were several computers, charts and a ton of books, mostly on things to do with evolved theories and powers. Several of the books were the most famous works of both Fadei Chaikovsky and Lesley Hyland, two of the most well known evolved researchers. There were several comfortable chairs in the corner to create a minitiature living room. Other chairs were scattered throughout the room, most of them with small sidetables by their sides with a stack of books on them. There was another door, that appeared to lead out of the room, but Clarence walked towards one of the chairs and sat down, motioning for Trinity to sit in the other.
He laughed at the expression on her face, but not in a mean way. "What do you think? Safety and security first!" he smiled, then rose to his feet again and walked over to the second door. Upon pulling it open, it revealed a large refridgerator. "Drink?" Clarence asked, he took out a soda for himself.

Trinity's dual eyes were wide in surprise as he showed her around the basement. To her it seemed to be a house under the house, not a basement! She eyed every piece of equipment with high interest, wondering if she was going to use any of it. When he brought her to the room with the computers and the chairs she quickly took the seat offered.
"Yes, please, I'd like a soda please..." She smiled shyly and tried to keep her eyes from wandering all around the room. The woman was nervous now. There was no way anyone would find this place quickly if something went wrong.
That wasn't to say she didn't believe Clarence's intentions were anything but good. He had given her no reason to believe otherwise but still, it was slightly unnerving to be underground. Perhaps that was another part of her power? "What... power do you have?" She asked trying to start a conversation.

In response to that, Clarence lifted up one of the chairs with one hand. He tossed it up for a bit before he put it down again. "Superstrength," he smiled. He handed Trinity a soda and then sat down into one of the other chairs.
"Don't be nervous, Trinity," he smiled at her, "I would just like to speak with you about your abilities. We will not be doing anything practical for a while because I believe that that understanding is one of the keys to mastering a power. That's why we will start by trying to understand how your power works and it can be manipulated into doing what you want. Why don't you tell me something about your powers? When did you first discover them and what happened? What did you do since then?" He leaned back, a completely relaxed and non-threatening pose, but appeared fully interested in Trinity.

Trinity stared, mouth open in surprise or horror, she wasn't sure which. She settled for surprise. After all, she could turn into a bird. She took the soda and held it firmly in her hands.
She blushed when she realized her fried nerves had been showing. "Sorry... Of course..." She settled into the chair and took a long drink before looking up at him. "My power... is that I can change into birds or I think its just birds. I've never changed into anything else..." She said quickly then cleared her throat, trying to sound as professional as she could.
"The first time I changed, I was up in a tree trying to help a baby bird that fell. I got him into the nest but I lost my grip and fell. The next thing I knew I was flapping wildly and glided to the ground... as a dove. I uh, panicked slightly then finally changed back after a while. I'm not sure how long."
She then took another drink to relax herself. "The second and last time I used them was when John found me... A little boy was playing on a fire escape and it broke. He couldn't get down and it was too far for him to land... I wanted to run and help but instead I ended up flying, as a hawk I think. I used my talons to grab his shirt and lower him to the ground, after that the people around me started to ... get ruthless and John helped me."
Trinity took a deep breath and looked skyward. She really didn't like being down here. It made her feel very uncomfortable and it wasn't because of Clarence. Everything in her body told her the higher she was, the better. She forced herself to look back at him and gave a smile. "Uhm that's the only time's I've used them. I can't make myself turn into one yet and I have trouble... keeping the forms for a long time. It makes me very tired..."

Clarence nodded. "That's only to be expected, especially since you've just learned about them." He had taken out a notepad and was writing something down while he nodded to Trinity. "Did you ever to consciously manipulate yourself into a dove? Or parts?" Clarence continued to ask questions, trying to get a complete image of what Trinity's power was and could do. He offered a few theories and explanations of his own even though he couldn't offer anything conclusive.
"Because that will only really show itself during practical sessions," Clarence mused, "but I prefer to try and work out the theory first and then see if it is applicable. Everything to maximise your safety," he explained. "It wouldn't do for you to get stuck like you did the first time," he smiled.
((We should probably skip to them getting out? Unless Trinity freaks or something. xD))

"Ah... I uhm hate to interrupt, sir." She said after a while, squirming in her chair. "But can we please go back above ground?" She asked her voice near pleading. "I don't like it down here... Its not you sir, its just..."
She frowned not really knowing the problem. She just felt like it was wrong and was having trouble conveying it. She seemed glanced skyward again and frowned.

Clarence had been watching Trinity squirm and be uncomfortable and had figured out what had been bothering her a little while ago. He had been waiting for her to speak up, though, and now did she did he nodded. "Constricted?" He offered even as he stood up. "We are done here, in any case, and I'm sure Deb will want to stuff you with her pies," he told her exasperatedly.

"Yes..." She said exasperatedly, grateful for the word. Trinity got up rather quickly and waited for him to lead the way back out. She smiled and put her hands together with a smile. "Oh that's wonderful. I love pies..."

"You wouldn't if you had them forced on you all the time," Clarence complained, but he was smiling as he did so. Deb and her pies were something Clarence cared very much about.
And just like he predicted, the moment they were up Deb was already ushering the both of them in, giving them a drink while exclaiming how pale poor Trinity looked and would she like a piece of pie? She had made pine-apple and raisin pie. Oh and Johnny had already left, but he'd be back tomorrow or the day after. Was there something wrong?
