If you eat a lot and don't do much to get rid of weight but yet still stay at the same size, it just means you have a Fast Metabolism.

Darkchild06 The main point about this is diet scams. I was trying to say, that some of these scams out here are taking advantage of some of these people and it is ridiculous. That's why the best diet for someone is their own. These diet programs are telling people they SHOULDN'T eat a certain type of food at all. Which is bull. You can eat it, just not too much. If you know cookies are junk food and eating 10 of them isn't good for you all at once, eat smaller. Three or four is fine. All you do is cut back on things you enjoy to eat and then work out some and do activities to keep the weight under control.

Darkchild06 viet_asian America is obsessed with the plastic Barbie look. The media isn't looking for healthy. In fact, they probably couldn't care less. They just want a skinny chick whose fat gets transferred to erm, "other body parts." Honestly, if Barbie was real (the doll, not her daughter) she'd probably be a 5'11" blonde chick with 4" hands, 5" feet, and a 26" waist. And about weight, food, and such. Well, metabolism and genetics, basically. I agree. That is what America is all about, people here want to look like the perfect weight, well what is the perfect weight? The person next to me says there isn't one. Well, in the sense of health, it depends on your height and age. But the perfect body either depends on one's own opinion or the area's culture. Ironically, America is the fattest country and they seem like the ones who are most obsessed about physically appearance.

I would diet if I was overwheight. Surgery would be a last resort. But hey, I have a high metabilisam. I might become a 'young lady' soon though so that could change very quickly

Well, speaking before you is someone who is one month from turning 18, 5'9" and 165-175lbs (I haven't weighed myself in a while). Which, oddly enough, is almost the same size as Lord Sadist. xd
I work out (I bench about 205 last time I checked, which was a few years ago.), I run (I ran the 100 meter dash in 10.5 seconds), I eat healthy (most of the time), I can't remember the last time I was sick, I have a resting heart rate of about 45 bpm, and a body tempurature of about 97.8 degrees. I am probably one of the healthiest people I know. Here's the kicker; My freshman year, I counted calories. My daily calorie intake was no less than 5,000 calories, and one day I remember taking in over 7,500. I eat alot of red meat (which isn't really good for you. Once in a while is good, but I have it about 2 or 3 times a week), I don't drink soda very often... though I never drink water. I drink alot of tea, milk, and Kool-Aid. I sometimes can't stand sweets.
Anyway, dieting is not bad. Surgery is only a valid response to obesity if you have gotten to the point of no return. (Like; you can't start jogging in the morning because you literally can't get off the couch). Dieting should be done on ones own terms, and most assuredly with excercise. My mother lost about 20lbs over the last 6 weeks doing nothing but watching calorie intake and walking places a little more often. Not really any more walking that what is physically noticable by an average american.

i agree. it really is more or less how you feel. i'm personally not going to sacrifice the foods that i like for the sake of looking good (i guess i'm a hedonist there), because i figure 'you only live once. eat what you want and deal with the consequences later'. it'll probably lead to diabetes and high blood pressure, but i guess i feel fairly invincible health wise.

viet_asian Honestly, if Barbie was real (the doll, not her daughter) she'd probably be a 5'11" blonde chick with 4" hands, 5" feet, and a 26" waist. Plus, her neck would be about a foot long and so skinny that it would snap from the weight of her head eek I am fourteen, 5' 3" and trying to hit one hundred pounds. Americans emphasis on losing weight really hurts because i feel guilty for being underweight, and other people constantly spread rumors that i am anorexic. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, but i am constantly getting sick and literally cannot keep fat on my body. cry Friends who weigh more than me (aka everyone) always want to look like me (despite my total lack of curves), and i say, DON'T DIET unless your doctor wants you to... easy for me to say of course. But seriously, being skinny sux when it gets this bad. It's dangerous. Sorry for the rant... this is something that really hits close to home.

diets are just plain dumb, all there is too it. Todays society tells us that we must diet and be twigs! This is far from the truth. Diet to be healthy is really a diet its just being good bout what u eat. Dieting is like only eating 1500 calories in one day, then working it all off and starving yourself. All I really have to say is this, I eat about 2600calories in a day am loosing weight doing so and am happy with who I am. I got an amazing boyfriend who is like skinny and loves to maintain his body, but that is just cuz of is dumb ego. lol, so diet if you are on the verge of d!ying or diet cuz you are dumb and have no mind of your own and have to look like what others think you should. Eat healthy and smart, but don't diet. (I know some might attack on how controversial that sounds but don't question me on it of I'll annoy the living flip out of you. cool
