Come up with your ideas?
I know it's a very vague question, but that way we'll get a wide range of responses?
1. Do you have that special thinking place? 2. Is there one particular object that just sparks an idea? 3. Do you have a special technique for thinking up ideas?
This is not just for photoshop, it could be how you come up with ideas in ordinary things.
[Once again, sorry if this thread has been made before]

Well, I sight Grace Khold as my inspiration, which I'm sure ive mentioned more than once lol. Glancing at his art sparks some creativity in my minsd. I also have a special technique when I want to make something new but cant think of what to do. I put my itunes playlist on shuffle, and whatever the first song is that comes on, I take that title and use it in a design. =) Here's an example, The song was Wish I Had An Angel by Nightwish:

1. Do you have that special thinking place?Nope, I have tried to do that but it never works out. 2. Is there one particular object that just sparks an idea? Gaia, I mean just in general. Gaia I feel has helped me in so many different ways. From coding profiles, to making designs for a profile or just doing avi art. It has helped imagination grow I feel. Then with so many people here that also do art you get idea's from them and then tinker with it to put your own little spin on it 3. Do you have a special technique for thinking up ideas? I stated just going into the shops and looking at what they have done. You can learn so much off of people you don't even know. It just sucks because you can't thank them because they get weirded out. Trust me I've done it before they just ignored me ;;.

Well...I take an art foundations course in school, so it covers most medias and everything. (it covers photoshop, photography, sculpture and film making).
They give me ideas and assignments and then I build off them later on my own.
It also doesnt hurt going to an art school, ha. The walls are lined in all sorts of amazing art, its impossible not to look at. It's an amazing inspiration, really.
I also get a lot of inspiration from music and nature as well. I live in maryland, and theres all ranges of nature and stuff here, its called "Little America" we have pretty much everything but I dont think we have any cactus...but anyway, that helps too. I take pictures of stuff just to calm down a lot. Take a camera with you anywhere you go, if you can. When Im upset I just breathe deep and try to find something to make a pretty picture. 3nodding
Sorry, I talk too much sweatdrop

Come up with your ideas? I come up with them randomly. Mostly greeting cards and magazine shots. I buy a lot of cards to think I'll do a website based around it someday, but I never get around to it. 1. Do you have that special thinking place? To think, I like to sit on my bed in my room when it isn't so messed up to even sit in. Otherwise, I'll sit in the front room of our house and watch cars go by or birds in the yard while the cats stare at them from the window. 2. Is there one particular object that just sparks an idea? Usually greeting cards as I mentioned. 3. Do you have a special technique for thinking up ideas? I sketch or daydream at times.
Ideas come up at random. Just be prepared for when they smack you, even if it means to shell out a few bucks to keep that memory for a while. Yeah, I'm a scrapbook whore too.

That happens a lot for me too, especially when I'm in the middle of writing a song.
I thought maybe carrying a voice recorder would help, but when I don't have it with me, I start thinking of these great lyrics that I forget soon afterwards. D: < o: >

I'm on livejournal a lot. So I tend to get some really great ideas for icons over there. However anything else, just kind of jumps out at me. But normally it's during a time when it really shouldn't be. 9 out of 10 times I'm at my boyfriend's house, who doesn't have Photoshop or even have room for it on his computer lol.

I just find a picture on some stock site and figure out ways to make it look cool or what not. Not much of a process from me.

I usually see great art and then decide to try and create some of my own. It doesn't always go well, and more often than not gets scrapped, but I improve over time.
