Patent Dragon Spidrei Thats blows!!!!!!!!!! I can't live that long without the Who. That is like cruel and unusual punishment. We are being punished for loving Doctor Who I swear we are. We're being punished for daring to like a show that actually costs the BBC money and effort to make, if anything. If they had their way, the BBC would be wall-to-wall "Celebrities Standing In A Field" or some other crap... *shakes head* oh the pain! That would be so incredible painful to sit through...

crying It's not fair! How am I going to live without my Doctor?
It also makes me scared that David might not be back in 2010. I know that he wants to go off and do other things, any actor would....but why can't he say and be our Doctor. All he needs to do is break Tom's record. That's not too much to ask is it?

I think that they will Keep David or He will at least stay for another 2 seasons of doctor who (Meaning Season 5 & 6) that would Make 5 seasons witch is Higher then most Doctor's. I have done the math. Most doctors last at least 2 or 3 seasons.
Hear is the Order of Longes Runing to shortes Running:
Tom Baker - 4th Doctor 1974-1981 William Hartnell - 1st Doctor 1963-1966 Jon Pertwee 3rd Doctor 1970-1974 Patrick Troughton 2nd Doctor 1966-1969 Peter Davison 5th Doctor 1982-1984 Sylvester McCoy 7th Doctor 1987-1989 Colin Baker 6th Doctor 1984-1986 Christopher Eccleston 9th Doctor 2005 Paul McGann 8th Doctor 1996
David is the only one that is Unknown at this time. He might Contue on we dont know yet

Triska At least they are kind enough to be certain we whovians receive something for 2009. Anyone know who David is going to be playing in those two plays. And..... Wait a minute, isn't "Love's Labour's Lost" the play where the sequel wound up getting sucked into that realm where the Carrionites are now trapped? He's going to be playing Hamlet in Hamlet (fulfilling another of his ambitions) and Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost. And yep, you're right! It was Love's Labour's Won which featured in The Shakespeare Code with the Carrionites.

gonk Say it's not so!
Oh, well. The BBC is, at least, trying to accommodate Tennant's schedule. This and allowing him to pursue other projects may keep him returning as the Doctor for a few more seasons/series.
Thank goodness for box set DVDs! whee

So long as series 5 doesn't go the way of Duke Nukem Forever, I'm fine.

Triska I'm wondering what kind of jokes are going to be springing up backstage. *I'm assuming these are play productions.* Especially concerning "Love Labors Lost." David is likely coming up with a few of his own as we speak. I know I would. 3nodding Now, I have to say that it is very good for an actor to take a break from TV or even movies. It's good for their acting. You can see a difference between a stage actor and a TV actor. Stage actors are very wide spread, where as TV actors tend to be rather tight. Which is the reason why TV actors don't do so well on stage. While you all are getting upset over this I'm saying 'good.' It helps with ones performance. David was in the RSC a few years ago, appearing as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, among others. He started out in theatre.

Well that really sucks! Will the people in the U.S. at least be able to see the specials before season 5 without having to watch them on the internet?

thing is, 2008 will have series 4th and another Christmas special
2009 will have 3 episodes?
and even with this coming Christmas of 2007, there is one coming smile
but well, that's for United Kingdom's residents only...
So we can see something about doctor who every year in the next 3 years. I guess it's not bad. wink
I can't wait to see what will be in stock for this christimas special! I am really excited!

I am a little saddened that we won't have much who in 2009, but, if they are working around David's schedule I can completely see why they are doing this. He is a fantastic doctor and they obviously don't want to lose him. If, however, he does get sacked after the three specials I will be a little disappointed.
I am just hoping that season five is worth the wait! At least we will have Torchwood to tide us over as we await the return of the man in the blue box from the planet with the orange sky. And, three specials isn't bad. They should be good, anyway. And they are bound to be long specials, maybe even longer than the Christmas specials? Who knows? (Pun intended) As for me, I will probably watch some of the classic series to hold me over.
