Insignificant? If you call a loss of 57k gold on an omg insignificant, than you hold gold looser than I thought. And... who ever said that poor'er users will not feel this tax isn't right either; little sums add up. Think of all those people who are out there questing to get newer items... Users who just joined, buy a few donation letters to sell on the market place to get an older donation item... they have to buy more letters because their quest funds are getting taxed... that is in no way right.

Well, they'll always have the exchange forum, and the most conventional way to earn money: playing games.

Besides, I'm hoping we'll get money from killing monsters in the Battle System too - though that will probably bring a new inflation.
There'll be so many monsters in the Battle System they probably will only give direct gold at random times or when you beat a "boss" monster. I think there are some games out there that have a rare "gold" monster that is the same in power but golden in appearance that may give out gold when defeated.

We will get items and rings from defeated monsters too, so you can earn your gold from that also.

Just because there is a 2% cut from the market, it doesn't mean they'll take away 2% from personal trades. So your super expensive items will still be safe. Since most people sell their chain wallets and Nitemare scarfs at the exchange forum.

This money is fake anyway, I wont be sheding major tears over 2%. Who knows? Maybe the 2% thing will actually help out.

@people saying sellers will raise prices: Sure they could, but Gaia will still take 2% out, and since they raised that price the 2% will be even larger.

They do? So that's why I couldn't find a lot of wallets in the MP...

+--I personally think the two percent idea, while thoughtful, useless. I'm afraid the reason inflation happened at all is because when Gaia originally started users would get about 2-5 gold per post, at most. Then anytime a person voted in the poll it would always be 10 gold. Now, Gaians get money for silly things, like surfing. What I think Lanzer should do is go back to the original way of giving money out rather than continue this. The marketplace didn't add to the inflation, the amount of gold users were getting for something as simple as a post was. What is it now for your first post of the day? 50 gold? Back when I started someone would be happy knowing they managed to make 100 gold in a day. The original hot items that were hard to get were things such as elf ears and scar of hero. The two percent rule will not make those items valuable again.--+

But then they'll have to change the prizes of the most expensive items (such as your coat) because users won't get the same amount of money they did before, and then the items would become just as impossible as a popular MC is now.

I feel reallllly strongly on this ^^;;

I'm opposed to it.

The issue at hand is inflation. The people implementing it have said it won't help with the problem of inflation. So why are we implementing something that won't solve the problem and just makes people feel like they're loosing out?

Sigh. I luff the new marketplace design, but the 2% thang sad Makes me sad.
