Learning your ABC's and 123's

Tyra sat on the floor a rug under her butt to make it less uncomfertable and yet she couldn't stop wiggling and fidgeting. Her mother was trying to teach her how to write...and didn't interest her very much she wanted to go and draw. Or make more jewerly. Anything but this anyway.

Jayoku knew...that Tyra wasn't paying attention...this was going to be harder than she thought. she knew the girl was intelligent but..her lack of focus was her downfall. The only thing that could keep her attention was making crafts. ..Wait...that could work. She moved away and into the kitchen where she kept most of her craft making stuff. opening a cupboard she withdrew her many tool kit full of beads. When she entered the room again the young girls face became riveted on her. she knew what was in the box...you could nearly see the drool coming out of the corners of her mouth.

Jayoku opened the box and then took a handful of beads. "You can have a bead every time you answer a question correctly ok?" she said laying a handful into a small bowl she had nearby. Tyra's red eyes watched as each bead fell into the bowl her leaf wiggling in excitement.

"really?" she asked as if doubtful Jayoku would part with such magnificant treasures. Jayoku only nodded and Tyra looked positively gleeful.

"Now..." she picked up a bead in her hand. "I have...One...One bead in my hand. Repeat after me...One."

"One." Tyra replied obediantly.

Jayoku smiled. This shouldn't be too bad then.

*hours later*

Jayoku leaned on the table looking less enthusiastic now than she had been earlier. A large portion of beads now in the posession of Tyra showed that at least the girl was a quick learner when she was focused.

But now that she had so many beads the chikorita girl was examinin each one like a gem dealer making sure they were actually worth the price of knowledge for them.

Learning more Homeschool lessons part 1 :
Now that Tyra was getting older Jayoku had decided it was best to start teaching her read, write and as well learn math. Tyra hated math, she liked how the numbers looked...but didn't understand how or why she had to add them together.

It took her a while but Jayoku managed to convince the child that in order to make good jewelry she needed to know how to count as well divide, the chikorita girl seemed unconvinced but was willing enough to learn if it meant her jewelry making skills would get better.

"Tyra? Tyra where are you?" called outa voice that belonged to a rather frusterated red head by the name of Jayoku. She had been searching for her daughter for the past ten minutes, flashcards in hand readyto go over somespelling words with her. Shehad checked nearly everywhere forher, even the more secretive ofhiding spots...

She sighed thinking of only one more hiding place she could check to see if her daughter had not indeed vanished. Moving she headed towards the understair closet and sure enough as she swung the door open a starteled Tyra spilled her beds all over the floor.

Looking over athermother sheepishly the young chikorita girl tucked back a peice of hair .

"Ah...hi mom." she said as her gaze lingered over the spilt beads, she even went to reach for a few of them but her mothers glare frozeher in place.

"Tyra....I've been looking for you for the past ten minutes....it is time to work on your schoolwork."

"But...mom, I need to cleanup.." The young girl protested but went quiet as her mother stared her down.
